I did a load yesterday in my portable washer so there are some clean clothes for my son for tomorrow. I hung the shirts to dry and draped the shorts and underwear over the washer. If I remember to do a small load every second day then he should be good. We both need more clothes, especially me.

I have a question for evryone, who washes their laundry separated by colours: I wash light colours, dark colours, woolies and towells separately. My old relative always puts dark clothes into lights saying it does not let the colour anyway (yeah, but the whites are never white when washed with something dark). Is it only him, or do you experience other men or women doing it too? It drives me crazy

I separate mine. Whites/lights, darks, towels and then bedding and rugs are separate. I have gotten *** with clothes with my daughter who has Down Syndrome. I do all of hers separate from ours, but generally don't sort. Most of her stuff is dark, some colors. But often her clothes smell like pee and well I just don't like to mess around with them that much. That's also why I keep hers separate from ours. She pees in something and then piles others on top of them in her hamper.
And on the subject of laundry ..... I did a TRUCKLOAD yesterday!! It was a bad week .... week and a half. Stuff was not getting done, just washed and tossed in baskets in my room. I had a load of sheets, a load of towels, 2 loads of darks and 3 loads of colors that all had to be hung/folded & put away. Hubby helped for about 15 minutes. Then I washed more. I got a load of darks & towels washed and put away. I washed 2 comforters after that.
This morning I put the 2nd comforter in the dryer, which it's now hanging for a little extra dry time. And washed a load of towels which are now in the dryer. But I have to leave for work in 10 minutes. So that's it for me.
Tonight I have waiting for me 1 load of dd's clothes that I washed .... most of it gets hung. Then I'll have those towels to fold. I also put another load of her clothes in the wash. After that, my laundry room will have some steam mop heads to wash and a load of husband's work shirts.

Washed and dried three loads yesterday but didn't put away. I need to work on that. Hampers, closets, chests of drawers, and dressers need to be used for storage. Not the floor and laundry baskets. Goal starting tomorrow is to put away all clean then wash, dry, and put away a load a day until the floordrobe is vanquished yet again.

This is the week for me to catch up on laundry. It has taken over the basement laundry area, my bedroom, and is working its way into the living room so it is time to launch an attack on Mt. Washmore. Most of the clothes I wear are in the 'need to be washed' pile along with a large helping of sheets, towels, and who knows what. Down at the bottom of the pile are some sweatshirts and other assorted winter clothes along with some odds and ends that have been there for months. I have room for all my clothes in my closets and drawers so there is no reason for them to be hanging out on the floor. Charge!!

Hope you got caught up this week goldfinch. It seems with work and such, I am doing a lot of laundry on my days off, or one day off as the weeks are going. I have a ton to take care of tonight and tomorrow. Then Sunday starts my 6 day work week again. Wishing everyone good luck keeping Mt Laundry tamed!

Major catch up in laundry land. Hubby helped me last night. We folded/hung up and put away 5 loads of clothes, 1 load of towels and 1 load of sheets.
I have more to wash today. Having a hard time keeping up with my special needs daughter's bedding. Going to try to bang out 3 or 4 loads that I have still waiting today and then keep it up for the rest of the week.

I did a Mt Wash more 4 day marathon and for the first time since I have manageable laundry. For the week I have 3 loads and that included sheets and blankets. Woo Hoo. Good luck to everybody on keeping up... I use dye catcher for light and dark clothes but wash whites separately.
