OK, 90% of laundry is washed, dried and folded or placed on hangers, my challenge for today is getting it PUT AWAY! I have 3 baskets full of folded clothing and quite a few now dry items that were hung on the door frame to dry. If I gather up everything dirty, there may be 1 load to wash with a small load hamper waiting for friend to join it so as not to waste water and power. keepinitklean, the single top sheet is from a kid building a "tent", the single socks wandered out of the toe of a shoe since the wearer stuffed it in there instead of putting it in the laundry hamper, the wash cloths were used as napkins when you ran out of paper towels..... at least that's what happens here.... not to mention the undies that the Terrorist Terrier stole for her "midnight snack" and the towels that were left beside the bed from drying hair and then pulled under the bed by BigDog who likes to make a "nest", and let's try NOT to think about the items that are shed in the living room and "eaten" by the sofa... It would be so much easier to do laundry if it didn't first involve SEARCH AND RESCUE!!!

Today is laundry day for me. I do laundry twice a month at the laundry mat. While I am there, I am scanning files of genealogy that I want to keep with a hand held scanning wand. I usually fold everything but the underwear while I'm there. The challenge is putting everything away as soon as I get home and making the bed.
Tonight I will check my scans and throw the paper files away.

Two triple loads of laundry washed dried and plopped back in the living room. Now it's time to go put the sheets and pillowcases back on the bed and put away the clothes I managed to fold up at the laundry mat. I have a 30 gallon trash bag of underwear to fold and put away. YUKK! The putting away part is the hardest, even though I have room for it all to go. I'm off now to the clean clothes war Bed is made, everything in laundry basket is put away, only underwear and wash cloths to go. I'm resting my back a few minutes.

Today I got the laundry totally caught up (until baths are taken tonight).. but I also took a minute to look back. I realized that Kiddo has THREE WEEKS worth of school uniforms. Now in the past that would not have been excessive for me. I would have stockpiled them because I made such a huge deal out of laundry that it made it impossible for me to do it in a timely manner. I would sort, heavy reds, light reds, light weight dark colors, light weight bright colors, jeans, light towels, dark towels and probably a dozen more classifications. I would then "wait for a load" for each one. Eventually I would be overwhelmed but still need to WASH CORRECTLY (note that "correctly" was a figment of my own imagination because no human could manage the "rules" I set for it) I would then stuff everything into the car, filling up the floorboards, the seats, and the trunk and drive to the laundromat and fill 20 washers -- sorting things CORRECTLY of course. Then I would dry and fold everything or fold the wet clothes that needed to hang to dry. Then I would reload the car, come home totally exhausted and unable to unload the car. Meanwhile, the wet clothes that I brought home to hang to dry would mildew in the car.. and the car would stink, the clothes would stink, and I would stink from being hot and sweaty in the laundromat for hours... Now I just sort much more simply, darks, lights, whites and this is going to fade all over everything so it goes by itself... Do a load or two every day and have stopped stressing out over clothes. They don't need to be done THE RIGHT WAY, they don't need to be a production, they just need to be CLEAN and ready to wear.
Yes, there was a time when you couldn't walk in my home because of the piles of dirty clothes that were knee deep in the hall... and the bathrooms... and the bedrooms, etc..

Another 6 day work week, sick kid and me being run down has put me behind on laundry again. I had to catch up mid-week with the pukey stuff. Now I am just behind and didn't wash laundry for days. And of course the stuff I had washed, I had 2 loads needing to be folded & put away sitting in my hallway. Well let's just say my 2 yo was "helping" yesterday morning. Husband sends me a picture via text of a bathtub full of water and clothes. Yep he took the clean clothes and tossed them in the tub of dirty bath water his sister did not drain out. So today I am going to be a laundry maniac. Gotta get caught up. Poor kids closets look BARE!
I started by sorting what had been tossed in the laundry room and added to what I had sorted in there. Starting off with a load of towels in the washer. I am guessing I have about 8 loads to get caught up.
