you are all so encouraging to me! Today I sorted not papers, but the over flowing unable to close drawer of my desk that holds just pens, pencils, crayons and markers. Gave a lot to DD to donate to her school and trashed all the skiggy junk in the bottom and the bits and covers, etc. go me!

*DH tossed some junk mail that came in, yesterday. I went thru what was left & put 3 papers into recycle bag. 1 paper to be filed & 1 bill put in Office in a Bag.
*Went thru zip bag of papers that is from a grocery size bag in my Dining Room. Receipts from 2012-2014. Separted them to put in appropriate tax year tax boxes. 3 papers to be shred, 1 paper to be filed.
These are the type things that are frustrating... Hmmm. What to do with the receipts that I need to put in the 2012 Tax Box that is in our mini storage? I'm not gong there, right now. Hmmmm. Okay, I put the 2012 receipts back into the Zip bag & labeled the zip bag so that I don't go thru them, again, and know where they go. In the meantime, though, not sure where to put this zip bag that goes in the mini storage 2012 Tax Box... Also, wasn't sure what to do with sm. zip bag of foreign coins. Belongs to DH. Hmmm. Okay, I put them inside his high chest in our bedroom..... Do these situations sound familiar to y'all?
*12 papers into recycle bag. By the way, I got ruthless... I got rid of recipes that sound delicious!!! That was really hard to do, but I realize that I have recipe books and other recipes that I haven't made yet in my recipe box... and also there are so many on the internet. Still, these were hard to get rid of. Went thru another zip bag from that grocery bag that was in my Dining Room. This bag had things from 2014. Put 2014 receipts into 2014 Tax Box. Put unused 9V battery into battery box in Office Supply Closet. 1 paper to be filed. Put 1 recipe in recipe box -- this was one that I'd made before. *1 plastic wrapping into trash. *21 papers (including some recipes) into recycle bag. *Put holey grocery bag into trash *Went thru another bag that was in my Dining Room. Papers from Jan. - May, 2015. 12 papers to be shred, 1 notebook put in Office Supply Closet, 1 pen put where I keep them, picture & note put in Memories box, 13 papers to be filed, *7 papers into trash 52 papers into recycle bag *put the cute bag that was from when my DD was in pre-school into the Office to reuse. It has a darling picture of DD at that young age.
Another bag removed from my Dining Room, today! Yay!!!

I threw out lots of paper yesterday.... and gave away a HUGE stack of magazines to a preschool for the kids to cut up as they were those nice shiny "country" animal magazines. let go of stuff that had negative attachments to my past. let go of my 8th grader's 2nd grade school papers! ... somehow they got filed. I just kept one story and a paper where the teacher had them do their signature every few months - because I thought it was neat to see the growth. I also got rid of ..... 7 more bags of stuff...bringing the total to 15 for this weekend! yay! and a friend came by to get some curtains and commented on how much she can see is gone! chugging along....

Okay I'm speechless, I thought we were the only ones with papers and old bills stuffed in grocery bags! I know about 4 bags, they are larger sized. There could be more lurking in the closet...I have never looked. Too much dread. The pile on the coffee table is impossible to not see.that would fill a regular grocery bag. I did hear him say we wwere caught up on many bills so I could use my fancy shredder and get rid of more papers now i found this thread.

oust, I use paper grocery bags for all my recycling and donations. They're free, plentiful, and hold a lot! I put out one trash bag every week, but the recycling bags don't get put out til they're full. Good luck sorting/shredding papers!
