OK, I am posting achievement. I shredded paper and while I think some paper that maybe should not have been shred went in the shredder. Not gonna die over it, although am not super clear headed. Maybe did 30 mins and am now burned out. Think it does look different, although for today joined paper clutterers.
Happy holidays everyone!!!

Hi again, The area that had some paper decluttered yesterday both looks and feels different as I walk by, so while I am not sure where I will work or for how long...am doing more.

Paper work happened in the way of wrapping gifts and while I know that is not what this thread is for, hope it counts and is ok to post it and count it....as xmas present exchange is tomorrow and nothing had been wrapped. Also the day starts early. Was thinking I could do something else paper to make sure it fit the thread goals, although best I could do outside of it was to put receipts with some goods organized by front door that will be going back as some items turned out to be not as good for xmas gifts as I had hoped. Next time to get back to the nitty gritty. Thanks for understanding and be strict with me if it was wrong to post this achievement, as I know it is stretching it what I did with paper At the same time, it has brought me back two days in a row and do have major paper issues, so am hoping to continue working in this area more than sporadically.
way to go grasshopper , your doing great and those are good goals and achievements your moving your way through

I recycled a gift bag today to give a gift to ELH and just broke down and took Egg Lady's gift in a plastic bag. I had looked high and low for a box, no dice and it was too big for a gift bag and too strangely shaped to just throw some paper over. She liked it anyway!

Paper Hour on Wednesday: sorted misc papers; filled out and mailed form for Organic Girl recycling program*
* This is the greatest program. Most local recyclers won't take the plastic bags that are used to package Organic Girl romaine hearts (THE most delicious romaine ever!), so the company has a bulk-recycling deal... just send them 3 empty packages and they will send you back a coupon for a FREE package of any kind of their salad greens, worth up to $6.99. What a great win-win!

This post is my break to regroup. I decided to spend the morning making headway in all the papers and magazines that fill my office. I made huge progress, although it was maybe 5% of what's in the office. But hey, I figure if I can do 5% twice monthly, I'll be done by the end of the year. (I did weigh the magazines I dumped. 13.6 pounds. Lots of paper shredding and recycling, as well.)
I emerged at noon, tired, sore, and ready to move on to anything but papers. And then DH, who hates handling paperwork but saw what I was doing, proposed going to the basement and tackling the four-drawer file cabinet we no longer use together. I'm trying to reset my mood for more paperwork, because he HARDLY EVER makes suggestions like that!!! (Of course, to him, it's just rivers of papers to dump/recycle. To me, it's individual pieces of paper with possibly important words on them.)
If you read this, pray for us!!! We need to find the right balance between ourselves so we actually stay on track.

Yesterday I shredded some unnecessary paperwork and got rid of some excess stuff. I reduced my hard copy documents file. I also got rid of bank statements since they are all online now and I can request past years if necessary.

DH and I spent about an hour dumping old, old files from a 4-drawer filing cabinet. We got about half done. We would have gone further, but my back started giving out after I spent too many hours on the floor spreading out and sorting papers today. But what progress! We filled two boxes to recycle + another pile of 30 or so magazines. I'm estimating about two square feet of space in the house is being reclaimed today.
If we can empty the filing cabinet and get rid of it in the next month, that would be a HUGE accomplishment.
It's a good start.
