Paper Hour for Saturday: - sorted and shredded misc papers. Does anybody here use a Filofax or Dayrunner or something similar? I'm trying to resurrect the use of an old (but nice) Filofax... a very small one, just for my purse so I can keep track of appointments without having to always lamely say: "I'll have to check my calendar at home." So I bought a refill 2016 monthly calendar for it today, but when I got home, it was the wrong size. Darn! I bought it impulsively, when I should have waited to bring my Filofax to the store for the right size. Now I have to take it back, but I know that store doesn't carry other sizes. What a stupid waste of time. However, it looks like I can order direct from Filofax online, and it's on sale there.

papermoon , if you can't find what you need, you can get a pocket/purse-size calendar free of charge at any Hallmark Store. I don't know if a purchase is required.

Does anybody here use a Filofax or Dayrunner or something similar? . When I ran my own business, 1986--2012, I used various models of the Daytimer system. It had to be purse-size. I saw different clients every day, and travelled all over the city. My DayTimer was my anchor. Now that I am retired I can make do with a desk calendar in my home office PLus the calendar feature on my phone. But during the past summer with my broken ankle, caregivers, physio, hospital appts etc I did one crazy smart thing. I made a week-by-week calendar out of a piece if cardstock and kept it with me at all times. I was too sick to go downstairs to my office!!! I also sometimes photocopy my desk calendar and bring the one page copy with me if I have to make a lot of appts. Good luck...

Paper Hour for Monday: - sorted and shredded misc papers - dropped a 5-pound bag of papers down the recycle chute
That bag weighed only 4 pounds when I started my Paper Hour. It was actually fun to hunt around and find another pound of misc paper to add to it.

I returned that wrong-size Filofax refill and then went to their other store 3 blocks away. They had the right size, yay! I'm so glad because I didn't want any substitute. I want to try using the Filofax system again, even though I haven't used any system at all since 2004 (Hmmm... that could explain a lot of my problems...) It seems that every year I open some drawer and stumble across this hidden unused Filofax many months after the start of a new year, and I think: "Next year for sure! I've really got to start using this thing." Then I misplace it again... and again... But now it is IN MY PURSE. Paper Hour for Wednesday: - sorted and shredded misc papers - reorganized my Filofax for 2016

I'm almost to the end of a 2 foot high stack of 19th century deeds for research. I have a headache from the readers that I have to use to decipher 170 year old deeds. I have entered data into a spreadsheet and sorted into areas. Now to put into Deed Book & page order, put in boxes and GET THEM OUT OF MY HOUSE!

Good job, cando! For me today, Feb 22: Not a full hour, but I got enough paper sorting and shredding done to top off my bag at 5 pounds. Sealed it up and lobbed it down the recycle chute. BAM!
