This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM!

This is my stay-at-home day, so I'm hoping to get something accomplished! Ta-Da's: 1. Set out fruit to be eaten for snacks (eat the fruit before I eat any other kind of snack -- I prefer the all other kinds of snacks, unfortunately). 2. Set out pitcher of water to finished before bedtime. (I've already downed 3/4's of it because of #3. ) 3. Figured out Wii Fit and started their exercise program. I did it for an hour and eight minutes. I hope I can stay motivated to do it daily -- but probably not for as long each day. :-) ) To Do: 1. Put sheets in washer 2. Take a shower 3. Eat fruit... Future to do's: 1. Put Muletrain 2000 (?) , which contains borax, on the floor of the room our cats like to be in -- they are bringing in fleas, so I need to put Advantage flea control on them and sprinkle that room with the borax. 2. Work at clearing off one kitchen counter at a time. 3. Clear off kitchen table -- HUGE undertaking. Hope to "see" you later, mle

I can just imagine your frustration, greenfuzz! You have been handling it so well (the lack of hot water). Your posts about boiling hot water to do dishes really motivated me. I mean really, if you can go through all of that effort why can't I just turn on the faucet and get them done?!? I will be sending warm "hot water" vibes your way.
It sounds like you are on quite a roll today, booboo. Good for you for getting that load of laundry started.

Wow...I'm on a roll. Good thing, because it took me AGES to get started. Greenfuzz, so sorry to hear about the hot water situation. ...sending heat waves your way.... wantinmore, thanks for the encouragement. You're kicking my butt! It's inspiring. Ta Dah!- This is my lucky day! I found exactly enough quarters to dry my load of laundry. Someone had crammed them into the sides of the machine in the wrong place. Win for me. Now I can wait to get the rest until I run out to buy a whole bunch of organization crap for my apartment.
- 15 min. of paper tossing/shredding
- 15 min. and one load of dishes done.
To Do!- Call insurance company before business hours are over
- 15 more min. of papers
- 15 more min. of papers
- Put laundry in dryer
- Make more coffee and order out for lunch

Greeting everyone! Mle and boo - you are a source of inspiration! Let's hope that inspiration gets me off my duff. Green - sorry to hear about your hot water. That has to be awful. Is there something else you can do that is not water related? Sort papers, or something? I wish you luck getting your hot water back right away! I have been out of commission the past week or so. We got the new puppy, and she is a doll! But, she is alot of work too. I have been taking her out every 2-3 hours, day and night. She is potty training quite well! But last night, we had an awful thunderstorm - and she cried/whined all night. Poor thing. Oh - and I am hungry, so I am cooking a big Sunday dinner - or in my house, it is a mini-Thanksgiving dinner. On Wednesday. TaDa: 1. Went grocery shopping. 2. Put away all groceries. 3. Took nap with puppy. TaDa: 1. Check online news and weather forecast. (Spent 7 minutes - a record!) 2. Get ham in the oven. 3. Unload dishwasher. *BONUS* Invited my mom over for dinner. I am not worried about how the house looks with her - but this will be the cleanest she has seen it in a long time! ToDo: 1. Take meds I forgot to take this morning. 2. Pick up grocery remains. (Bags, boxes, etc.) Put away extra food in pantry. 3. Load the dishwasher.
