ponygirlPony! Dang it, we keep missing each other!!! FANTASTIC work, my dear, but... wait just one cotton pickin' minute... what's all this about donation? You are backsliding...! Amnesty is not about donating, recycling, etc... it's all about GET RID OF IT NOW!!! No more holding back things for donating, Sweetie! TOSS/BURN IT ALL!!! Too much needless mental tending over these items! If you need to, please re-read your own posts from the beginning. Refresh your memory that you are NO LONGER going to worry about rehoming/reclycling/selling ....anything! Zilch! Zero! Nada! PLEASE continue on in THAT frame of mind! Sorry for all of the CAPS , but I'm worried for you! Emergency Intervention! xxxooo

More clothes into a donation bag. Also started a consignment store bag...but might change my mind and simply take these to donation. The trip to the store would just eat up gas mileage...and the donation place is just around the corner from my office. Donation: 1 Consignment: 0 -- on this round. I've also been thinking about pairing down my wardrobe even further. I'm hanging onto some pieces that don't quite fit (too small) because I love them so much...but might not ever fit in to them again. They're classic pieces, not trendy, so won't go out of style. Going to ponder this for a bit longer before making an ultimate decision. This stuff is all hanging now anyway...and not really in the mix of the clutter battlefield. I've just been jumping into easier skirmishes during the workweek...and have been considering lightening up everywhere...clothing included. After all, I could make do for the workweek with just a couple pairs of pants and skirts...and some tops...and a couple blazers. Instead...I have enough outfits for ten career-women. Still too much mental tending!! Carry on, everyone! Let's dig out! No Consignment! No Donation! Amnesty, Ammesty, AMNESTY!!! That said: I say keep the few pieces of clothing you love that are too small.* At least for a while longer... You've got bigger fish to fry right now, and if/when you lose the weight, which I suspect you very well may, then you'll still have them. They're not the problem at hand right now. Get rid of all the stuff you don't love, first. *dislclaimer: that advice is personally for ponygirl, who I know can "handle" this. It's not meant for any lurkers in the throes of hoarding with emotional issues, etc.

I either need it or I don't. Answering that question is fairly easy. Acting upon the answer is what's difficult. You got that right, Sissy! But I always feel so much better when I've tossed something than when I've kept it. ...Therefore I shall continue to feel better... ...and better... ....and better... ......and better!!!

I think there's no one true answer to hoarding and clutter clean-up. Sometimes I give myself a time limit. I'll start at 9 am and give myself an hour per room to do as much organizing/cleaning as possible. By lunch I'll have 3 rooms done, six by three o'clock. Yay! Other times I'll remove 5 items per day from a room. Even a rubberband moved from the kitchen table to the desk drawer counts as one item. Just so long as I keep moving...

Hi, imamess! I hope you did, too! Hi, isingandlaugh, thank you! Eliminator! I don't think my tag 'thingy' is working...but I know you'll see this...all of you!
Elim is right, I have to heed my own thoughts and words! Amnesty! Onward! I did drop off that donation bag...it was already made...and in the car. She's right, too, I can handle the intervention and the advice...and any tough love sent with love! Thank you!
Jannie, no; there is no one true answer, that is for sure. Even if we get to our own personal 'ground zero'...we'll have to watch ourselves forever more...because we'll always have hoarding tendencies. There is no switch to turn it off. It's there. We can do something about it...but it's in our psyches. I try to do something each day, no matter how small or large. I work two full time jobs (day job and farm)...and have all the routine household stuff to do, just like everyone else. So, my time is very, very limited for dehoarding. I do the best I can.
The important thing is: I've decided (note the DECISIION word!!!!) to get 'out'. No one but ourselves can make that decision!
Not much time to write...be back when I can. Everyone, keep up the great work and carry on! Amnesty! Make those decisions! Better done than perfect! Better gone than stored!
Remember: If we're 'storing' something...that means only two things: We're either not using it...or it's a sentimental item (still not using or viewing it). Decision making time!
Yeah...I know, harder done than said...

Today's update:
I got nuttin'! Bwahahaha!
Really...I didn't get to do any purging. I gave it the ol' evil eyeball...and went to bed.
So exhausted.
I really need to win that lottery....ANY lottery!
It would be so nice to have TIME, sweet, sweet precious time...to do what it takes to get my life in order.
The life-clock is ticking away...
So much left to do. I'm definitely on the down side of the hill. I've got to get crackin'!
Need. More. Energy.
Or...another me, or two...

You are doing great, Ponygirl! You've made amazing strides and big changes in yourself. You must be sooo proud of yourself for how much you've done so far. You'll never go back. Only forward. That in itself is a wonder. I believe in you and your strength to keep going...when you have those bits of time to chink away at something. : )
You've inspired me, so off I go!
