pony - glad to hear from you! i'm here for now because i am too sore to go to work. so... if you don't mind my asking, what kind of things do you burn? (this is not an option for me since i live in an apartment complex, but i am curious and maybe it can help other people with the ability to burn, in terms of what is burnable and what isn't.) WTG all konmari people~ whatever works, however it works, however many methods one needs to have it work. when i think of getting rid of my socks, i have many colored ones that i hardly use since i am a dirty gardener - but i love my colored socks! i guess i'd be more looking for which socks are uncomfortable or cut off my circulation... something to think about. since almost everything i own sparks joy in me, i'm not sure konmari would work for me, but i think i could utilize some of it anyway and be further along than i am now. probably wouldn't hurt to check out joyinvirginia's thread either. glad things are perking along for releasing! Thank you! Glad to be back! I'm sorry you're sore! Don't mind at all if you ask! I recycle what I can; however, I'm not stressing over anything I can't. I burn anything that is combustible and will turn into ash. Fabrics and paper make up the bulk. I don't like to burn plastics, but sometimes I do, very minimally. That's right! Whatever works, works! Indeed, I do believe KM would work for you. Use whatever does work, that is the key. I know...everything and every subject sparks joy for me, too...HOWEVER...I can guarantee that not everything in your home is a joy-sparker! Example would be the colored socks that you hardly, or never, use. If you are not using them, they are not joy sparkers...speaking of clothing items. A lantern may only be used in a rare power outage, so that would be an example of a seldomly used item that still is a joy-sparker. It's all relative! The releasing of the item...releasing of its energy...is powerful!

Remember, the key to success with KM is to handle EACH item...not with the intention to discard...but to discover if it brings joy.
You will know instantly.
If there is any hesitation...or doubt...whatsoever, you KNOW immediately that the item does not spark joy. Let it go.
