Way to go, Rob! On Saturday the dh and I went to the dump, and empties two thirty gallon cans with all the trash bags I have taken out. Plus two more trash bags, and four big boxes we put in the cardboard recycle, plus three containers of recycle paper and a big can of recycle glass and plastic. I love my dump dates with the dh!

Went to attic, threw out 2 large black trash bags & one kitchen sized bag of stuff. Some of it was from DH's side of family & very old, pictures, a wooden box, a 50 yrs. Anniversary plate with gold lettering on it, an old bathroom scale that was ours, & a number of small things. The old things were from when we had to clear out in-laws' house many yrs. ago. Have no idea who things originally belonged to, But I claimed AMNESTY & pitched them, b/c it isn't my fault that I got stuck with them. Well, the fancy plate was MIL & FIL's. I remember when we gave them an anniversary party. But it didn't look real good anymore & I can't use it & my kids would not want it. My amnesty button must be a little rusty b/c I have slight guilt feelings, but if I tried to clean & sell or donate this stuff, I would never get done getting excess stuff out of this house. There were even 2 pr. of very old eyeglasses, very tiny. but I don't know whose thy were, so that killed any sentimental feelings I may have had. If DH were still here, he wouldn't have known either.
Hope I did the right thing.

15 bags in 15 days... Giving my boss a ride in my car tomorrow. Guess where tonight's bag came from?
And thank you, Sue. I hope so. From your post to God's eyes.

Rob that's where my bag was yesterday too. I haven't been participating daily, but will be trying to keep up. We got hubby a new Jeep yesterday. And so to make myself feel better about the old minivan I am stuck with still, I cleaned up all the trash in it. The middle console thing holds a LOT of trash .... lots of soda cans, wrappers, etc. And a bunch of other loose. It wasn't the biggest bag, but it was a good size. So I say it counts!

Today is trash day and the can had very little regular trash, so I set out to see what I could find to toss. Got 4 bags - two from the garage - old saved empty almond milk containers. There were 3 bags full of those, but I could only allow myself to part with two of them. Maybe next week for the 3rd. Hoarder mentality. The third bag was gathered walking around outside, just picking up odd trashy bits of this and that. And a 4th bonus bag of regular last minute house trash including a few mystery things from freezer. And now the bin is full and on the street. ... and I hear the trash man now. 11/30 Edit: The other day I gave away 10 plants in pots to be planted in someone's garden. I'm relieved they are gone - 10 less things to have to maintain. So I've decided to count them as 1 'bag'. And I yesterday I totally filled the triple green waste can with pulled weeds - another bag. 13/30

Great job BetsyMarie!! I am like that too with the trash cans. We have 2. I have tried to cut back to 1, but the cost of just adding one extra bag of trash out 2 times a month would add up to what we pay to have the 2 cans a week. So we keep it, especially with diapers to get rid of. I am always like, "Hey .... there's room in here!" GREAT JOB parting with 2/3 of your almond milk cartons!! I call that a success!

Cat cat, FABULOUS job getting rid of the mystery stuff from the attic! Great job tossing the almond milk containers. And how nice to give away plants that someone else can enjoy! Last night I cleared a two foot section of my kitchen counter and have stuffed a cereal box with paper to recycle,.also halfway filled a newspaper recycle bag.

Thanks. What's sad about keeping the almond milk containers is that I've been making my own for maybe close to a year... And I'd never noticed them just sitting there before. So it goes.
Tonight I went through a stack of some previously sorted mail from the past few months. About 6 inches worth. Most went to recycling, some statements were saved, and some stuff shredded.

A very small bag just went out to the garbage can. But it was a bag. 16 bags in 16 days. I'm exhausted, good night.
