I've been working like a dog for two days to clean the 'public rooms' for a visit of a neat friend tomorrow. I declare that each of these 2 days of work is worth one bag. And I almost filled the triple yard waste bin yesterday for another. So... 7/30 As for me running out of things to get rid of.. not hardly. +/-170 full trash cans of clutter (not including regular house trash or green waste) out over a couple years, with maybe another 50(?) to go. It's a large house. And then there is the 3-car garage...

Thanks to sue5000 I was told about this board. So I wasn't paying attention when I posted to the old 40 bag thread on the 26th and today. So I'll try to get moving this time, especially since we have no vacation breaks. My 4/26 post --- Going to count this as 1 bag for today. I cleaned out a good size wicker basket that was housing a bit of everything and a lot of junk/trash that was on top of my fridge. All useless items trashed and others taken to their homes. Then also cleaned out a smaller basket that is just supposed to hold keys, hubby's wallet and maybe sun glasses. It was filled with tons of loose coins (went in kids' piggy banks) and tons of trashy junk. And today ---- I wonder how many bags I can count our u-haul for? Hubby is almost done loading up all the wood from the old swing set (been in the back yard for over a year.) We pulled a ton of stuff out of garage to trash also. He did most of the heavy work, I just had to do some sorting and purging today. But that should count for at least 3 bags I would say. So guess we'll go with a total for me of 4 in 35. Hubby of course gets to count quite a bit. The total weight of the dump visit was 600 pounds.

WOW! 600 pounds is a lot of stuff! There was a lot of wood. But yeah it still sounds like a lot to me too. He was kicking himself that he didn't get rid of this horrible "planter" that he built me several years ago. A planter is not a good word. Coffin, perhaps? It was huge and not functional. But guess he'll get that tore apart and take care of another time. The U-haul was pretty full he said. It sucks having to pay and not have a pick up. But that's a lot of stuff gone now. We want to work on the back yard (which is pretty small) and level it a little bit and get a swing set again for the kids. It will be nice to have a space they can play in.

Everyone is doing GREAT! I've been struggling a little bit the past several days. Finding diversions. Feeling like I can 't get started. So today I decided I'd just pick up 10 items as quickly as I could and throw them out. I can do that. Motivation follows action. Today: 1. I want into the bathroom where I had been keeping the chicks, and cleaned up stuff that had accumulated there, newspapers, bags etc 2. I filled up a small bag of stuff from my car, brought it in sorted through it and put most of the stuff in the trash or the recycling bin. I want to do some more. Trash pick-up is tomorrow, and I'd like to have 3 bags full of stuff ready to go out.

AAaauuuggh!! I forgot to POST last night!! But I did NOT forget to do a bag! ("do a bag" -that sounds wrong) I just took out a bag tonight, and last night I straightened a long standing mess. (which turned out to be more involved than I thought it'd be at first)
SO, 11 bags, 11 days... and, uh... 10 posts. (Grin)

Rob, your dedication is inspiring! I swiffered sun room last night, took a lot of swiffering since the foster dog had marked just about everywhere! Anyway, one small trash bag of dirty wet swiffer pads in the trash! Plus I washed all the dog bedding that had been urinated on! No more urine smell! So happy happy happy my house smells good again! Now to shampoo the carpet with pet formula shampoo.

Good Work Everyone This week has been an off week. Something to do almost every night so I have a shortfall on bags for the week at this point, but hope to make it up on Saturday and Sunday. I did handle at least 5 mins of Digital Clutter on Mac Book and school camera memory card. Now that I am back at work I did accomplish my weekly paper organization goals. Not daily I did it all yesterday. My goal was to work in some sort of inch measurement. This week I sorted alphabetically about 10 inches.

everyone! This morning I deleted 100 email messages, Most were more than 6 months old. I also emptied a box of mixed papers, mostly junk mail, but some important papers were in there too, including an insurance card that I had misplaced. I want to fill at least one more bag today.

13 bags in 13 days. And this was quite a bag.
If anyone remembers my first post on these boards, in the original 40 in 40 thread, the incident that drove me here: I overloaded a bag trying to clean out my fridge. Well, tonight I got the last of the garbage out of there. Even wiped it down a little. No broken bags, no garbage juice, no mentally scarring drama. (yet!)
So *that* was tonight's bag.

My "bag" for today is a lot of this and that. A huge box actually filled up with never used photo albums from my closet, a few toys and clothes from my closet and my sons. Easy to weed out things I know don't fit after they cycle through the laundry.
5 out of 35

Way to go, robnoxious007! Yes, I vividly remember your first post about that first broken bag. I thought you were incredibly brave to come here and write about it and then commit to the 40 Bags challenge and follow through every day with such... hmm, what's the right word?... GUSTO!
