Computer off and lights out on time. Had trouble getting to sleep. Alarm went at 0900 but I did not get up until close to 1000.

I'm continuing to try to get that light off early though I have been sneaking a bit closer to 11 this week. Last night, off at 10:30, woke on my own at 7:45. Rose at 8:15. I doubt I will ever just spring out of bed but that's okay.

angela - Springing out of bed? Not my strong suit either - obviously! Looks like you are making good progress on your goals too.

Computer off and lights out as planned. Stayed in bed for a VERY long time after the alarm went at 0900.
Still a work in progress.

Midnight here for lights out. Was out late with Mom, nephew basketball game then supper. Got home, barn check, a couple of goat chores. Didn't even get in the house till 10:30. It's okay to have these very occasional late nights when the overall trend is toward earlier bedtimes and get ups.

Computer off and lights out as planned. Got up at 0920 instead of 0900 - but that is improvement over some other days this week.

Can I join you? I am not trying to achieve quite a same schedule as the title of this thread suggest, but would be happy if, at a first stage, I would get up at noon or earlier, and go to sleep at 2:30 AM. Right now I often stay up until 4-6 AM and sleep accordingly (well to the afternoon). After I get my rhythms few steps closer to normal, I can try to change it again. I want to start preparing for a life after studenthood, what ever that may be.
I confess that I have not read this whole thread, and like won't have time/energy to do so, so I would just like to jump in and start reading posts from now on.
Today I woke up at 9 AM which is huge for me. Hopefully I will get to sleep "early" (that 2:30 AM sounds like a good goal).

Hi OnTheMend! Many of us on the thread are working towards an earlier bedtime and an earlier get-up time, for all sorts of reasons. I hope you reach your goal of 2:30 am tonight. Hi bobolink, you are doing great with your mornings! Sorry I left you by yourself for a couple of days. I am very consistently getting my light out around 10:30, some nights even earlier. Rare late nights are still occurring but it certainly isn't the norm. Late for me is midnight or past it. I had a lights out time of 11:30 for quite a while so I am pleased with my 10:30 or earlier bedtime. Mornings, I wake naturally around 7:00 now, sometimes a bit later if I need more sleep. The goal for me was to maintain an earlier morning so I don't struggle so much on those days when I have to be up early for work or an activity. I learned that I could not comfortably rise early without an early bedtime. I have also realized that mostly the activities I do after about 7:30 are NOT entertaining or edifying. I zone out to the TV or look at websites on the computer. Especially if I'm tired. So if I don't have the gumption to do something productive, creative, or entertaining, I just go the bed. I feel virtuous.

angela, you ARE being virtuous! I'm with you on the evening activities - mine are similar to yours and they are not what you would call life-enhancing. I've started reading in the evenings instead of doing mindless internet stuff. Once the days get longer and there is light into the evening, I will try to add quilting and similar activities to my evenings. You are doing great with the wake-up and go-to-bed times. Your company is always appreciated, but not required!

Hello angela! Seems like your sleeping routines are in a quite good place already! Well my first day on this thread wasn't successful, and I forgot my goal last night. Stayed up till early morning and slept till afternoon. Hmmm. Well, I suspect it might be like this a while at the beginning, but I will keep reporting here, probably some peer pressure will be good for me. Goal for today: Take evening meds at midnight, surf few hours, computer closed at 2.30, alarm clock ringing at noon tomorrow. I should do more productive thing too rather than surf the web, but one of my excuse is that my life situation is quite lonely at the moment with no change in sight, and web provides entertainment to my lonely days. I used to read lot of books, it would be wonderful to start doing that again - being literature major and all

Hello OnTheMend - good to see you here. I've had personal experience of being very lonely and know how painful that can be. What really helped me was setting an alarms on my phone for when I wanted to turn off the computer and turn out the lights as well as a morning alarm. Then I set them for 5 minutes earlier each day. I've managed to stop surfing till 2 or 3 and sleeping till noon. Update - computer off, lights out, and feet to floor at planned times.
