Hi OnTheMend. I can really relate to the loneliness as well. Especially when I was working so many hours, my evening seemed like my only time for myself, to post on my forums (where my only friends have been for a very long time) and to do web research on subjects of interest. TV is also often my friend. I would watch light, comforting programs like The Andy Griffith Show, Frasier, and Friends. Any sitcom really. It just got to the point though that I was creating uncomfortable consequences for myself by being tired and by being chronically late or unprepared or hurried in the mornings because of my slow, painful, late wake-ups. So I would have to comfort myself with junk-food activities in the evening because of the discomforts of the morning and the day, created in part because of my lack of sleep.

10:30, in bed, going to watch an episode of Corner Gas on my phone. I often close my eyes halfway through.

Stayed in bed after the alarm this morning. Didn't get out of bed until nearly noon. Depression settling back in.

I've been sleeping fairly well the last few nights. A friend brought me some homemade 'cough syrup' and I've been taking a dose just before bed. I go to bed around 10:30 and wake up around 4:30, stay up for a while and then take another nap from 6 to whenever. At least I'm not getting up at 2a.m.

I went to bed a little after 10 last night and woke up a couple of times during the night, realized the power was off and went back to sleep. I got up at 6:30 this morning. My shoulders are killing me because of laying down so long. The power flickered off and on for a couple of hours before coming back on. I'm going to try and not take a nap today so I can sleep tonight.

Good for you, imamess. Naps are sometimes hard to resist, but I always pay for it when I can't sleep at bedtime.

It sounds like a pretty good sleep imamess, except for the sore shoulders! Is it your pillows? I had to try several before I got it right for my neck. I have been laying down later again this week because of all the social activities. Mostly around 11:30 though last night was midnight. And finally rising from bed at 9:30 ish in part because of the later bedtimes and also because of the lambs waking me up for their bottle every 3 hours or so. Another week or two and they'll be strong enough to sleep in the barn.

I stayed in bed an extra 15 minutes this morning, but turned off the computer and turned out the lights on time.

That's great, imamess! You have sorted out your sleep schedule is a really short time. I really hope so. I've been really trying harder. My blood pressure has stabilized with new medication and the estate hoo ha has let up the last couple of weeks, so that helps. A little 'toddy' before bed has helped some too. I haven't slept all night more than a night or two a week in 25 years. It really gets old after a while.

Well done getting the computer off on time bobolink. That discipline is very important. Wow, what a good long sleep imamess! Glad you are able to get some better rest. I think I got my lights off around 11, woke at 4:30 to feed the lambs and change their bedding, went back to bed and rose for good around 9:30. I'm spending an awful lot of time in bed but I guess I need it. And a split sleep makes me more tired anyway.
