Awesome - thanks aa! Nothing like a good sale, and I do need to find a new brand. I don't like the Maxx in the tub, for some reason. Smell? IDK, maybe price? Extremely wasteful plastic tub, maybe??? I cut the top off those big jugs and use the bottom to contain junk … . But really, sometimes just sorting and containing stuff is good, right? Get it off the floor or the counter so I can clean. Gather all the whatevers and weed out the excess. And it's a way to see what I actually need to contain before I buy a nice container. Then the jug-bottom container can eventually be recycled. I love the buckets. For mopping, weeding, kitchen compost, kitchen recycling (I put a stack of them in the kitchen, and then move one to the garage when full), gathering like items together, taking things places. But they do keep coming …. I did a litter box, and used my tiny dustpan and brush to sweep.

I did litter boxes last night. I consider it part of my kitchen routine! I rinse dishes, wash them, put away as many as I can then I make sure all food is put away, then pots and pans. Then litter boxes.
The cats haven't had accidents since my son moved out months ago!

Lara, I'll admit that those litter containers would come in handy. They're better than a dollar store bucket, because they're heavy plastic. It's just overkill for me: Ms. Bin/Basket/Box/WhereCanIStashThis

cyn - yes, I do get that they could make things worse. I started out here with so much disorganized junk in heaps, that just being able to sort things into containers was great progress. I started a container collection on top of some tall cabinets in the garage (after clearing all the junk that was up there, and scrubbing them down). I don't want to get rid of containers as long as I have heaps of disorganized junk. I used 12 bins, for instance, to collect all the papers in the hoard for DBIL. Now I'm hard pressed to find a bin. I even *bought* a few.

Lara, I take it back - while cleaning the laundry room today, I noticed DH had a large jug of motor oil on top of some newspapers - stained with oil. Huh, was it leaking? IDK, but that empty kitty litter bucket that was on its way out to the recycling box was the perfect size to hold the oil container, yay! They sure do come in handy.
Scooped, vacuumed, and will add more litter tomorrow.

I keep telling my husband we need more litter boxes. HE says it's a lot of wasted money. The ratio, from what I understand, is 1 box per cat plus 1 extra. We have three kitties and only two boxes. We need at LEAST 1 more downstairs. Two of the kitties regularly use the ones up stairs but my son's cat will hide in the basement to do his business sometimes. I have permanently taken on litter box duty. My husband would let them go for a month or more with no scooping *barf*. Now I scoop daily and full change 1x per week. Things are much better now but I need the extra boxes. To heck with H. I am just going to go get them.

Desiree, you definitely need one in the basement - yup I totally agree with, "To heck with H." Tell him he's right, and *he* can go down there 3 times a day to clean up the mess.. ... My cat hates the mix of litter I'm using (pooped on floor, with pristine litter in uncovered box!) but DH is bringing home the TSC unscented clumping litter tonight, so I think everything will be fine. She's still peeing in it, phew! I can't blame her, this is the same litter I don't like. It's so tiny compared to the bagged one, I bet it's sharp and hurts her paws. Poor kitty.

Tell hubby that cats don't do well on less than two in house. I have six cats and three boxes but the also have access to backyard. I found spot they go and clean that out too. Just
