I was kind to myself by getting Verilux light and sitting under it. It feels great.

I had a warm bath and afternoon snacks with my DS and listen to him talk about his day.

Hi Dit. That sounds like a nice time. I'm sure your ds enjoyed it too. My kindness to myself today was finally handing in my termination notice at work, effective in 2 weeks. I have tried and tried to work with it, and kept procrastinating on doing it, but I finally decided I had to do it. I wrote up my letter first thing this AM, and when I found out my manager was off today, I hunted down the next person I could talk to. She offered me another possible solution, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. After that I went and got myself a new winter faux fur coat that I had been eying, but I always felt so bad once I was done work, that I never even took the time to try one on. Well I lucked out, because it was 40% off today, then my 25% employee deduction - and another 10% off today only for employee appreciation! I couldn't have timed that one any better! I really needed a new coat too. Now I'm enjoying a hot chocolate before bed.

Cleanbee , Hope you are well HOllyhock - congraduations , do you ever find when you put yourself on the right path other good things come along.
I went for a temporary job interview yesterday for xmas help. Had two in the last two days, but because I am taking my son on a ski trip, I could not get the jobs. I knew that there was a 99 percent chance they would not hire me but I went anyway. I know that may sound crazy. But there is a reason to my madness.
I made a commitment to my son. He gave up every morning of his summer Monday to Friday to get his grades up so he would not have to repeat a grade, and I am taking him to Mount Tremble for Xmas as his reward. We get to stay for free with friends in a suite, they had it booked since the spring, so there is no changing the time.
I went to the interview knowing I would tell them that and let them decide if they could handle me being away for a week. Interesting thing was they seemed impressed and asked me to comeback and reapply for the next time they hired. They even made a point of asking me to come look for them personally when I am in the store to see if they are hiring.
My act of kindness was allowing my interviews to fail for the right reasons and feeling good when I left without the job.

Hi Dit. Yes I have found that once you start things in motion, then the right things tend to start coming to you. I think it is great that you are dedicating that time to your son, for all of his hard work. And despite the fact that you walked away without a job, I hope you got the ball rolling there and will hear from them, in one way or another. It sounds like you made an impression.

Well , today was a slippery one, thank goodness I have my snow tires , we got hit from behind at a red light by someone who didn't. So a bit sore now. Have to take the car in to have it looked at the small crack in the bumper.
So my act of kindness today was to take come home early and take some naproxen and vitamins to counter act the pain that is coming.

My kindness today was staying home. I should have gone out to the bank, and to the grocery store for 2 things, but having gone out almost every day for weeks, today I just wanted to stay home - so I did.

Today I forgave myself for having everything in disarray while I slept. I am really tired with new job.
I am not expecting perfection just completion.

Hollyhock 2, lostchild, good for both of you sometimes the smartest thing we can do is rest. I know I'm glad I did, I woke up feeling much better than I expected this morning because I took the time to heal and lots of drugs .

I did today's nice-to-me thing early today. I did a nice facial scrub using new product I bought last week. And then the new toner - face feels silky smooth.

I had an additional 'nice thing' I did yesterday, that I was FINALLY able to do! I paid off my income tax debt! I stopped at the bank on the way in to work and paid it off. This was going back 2 years from when I was self-employed - and until I sold my house I never had the money to get them off of my back - so they are now paid in full!!!! (I'm really hoping that from now on they will owe me money!) But this is now 2 years of stress, gone!!!!

Well done you, Cleanbee! I haven't shopped for clothes for ages - meant to do that today, but forgot!
I suppose I'm kind to myself every day by having tea breaks if I can, but I would love to have at least an afternoon of shopping, an evening of knitting - usually only do that in the car when in the passenger seat or waiting, another evening of reading - I do that in the bathroom, the bedroom and when I stop by a book case which has books in it that I want to read. We were on vacation recently, which gave me plenty of time for reading and knitting without feeling I should be doing something else.
A similar thread to this came up in another forum I'm on and it was discussed how men seem to be able to take down time much more easily than women. My dh certainly does.
