Kiddo decided that she needed to polish her nails last night. In the process of finding nail polish in a color that she liked AND finding polish that was not a dried out lump.... "SEVERAL" bottles of nail polish joined the party!!!!!

jendela - precious girl, you can blame me, but only because I love lavendar and I would love that eye mask! I've never used or possessed one, and I've decided I won't shop for one, so the only way I get one is at the party! I have been working my tail off here, but not a whole lotta stuff headed for the landfill party - yet. I've loaded up my trash bin with more random papers for the bonfire, but no other "real stuff." I might have some leftovers if the kids don't scarf them down this afternoon. I have been on a cleaning and organizing frenzy for days, and need to get back to it. Watch those Jell-O shots - I hear they sneak up on you!

I had so much recycling to put out last night (32 gal can plus three bags of bottles and cans) that i totally forgot to bag up the paper recycling. So in addition to the three phone books, i have a box and two bags of paper/cardboard. We could use the cardboard to make tobaggons for all this snow. Ill send some snow too for those that dont have any. Warrior Kimmy im sure we can find a good use for those empty lemonade jugs. I tell myself now, that when i have a project that needs something like that, i will save the next one. Until i have that project and a date for when i plan on doing it, they can all go out. Its not like they will stop making those things anytime soon. I find it helps. Because, yes, those empty bottles are so tempting.

Oh, Irisheyes - I wish I could just give you that eye mask, then I wouldn't feel bad about it!! You know, I am sure I have saved up enough unfranked postage stamps (by soaking them off the envelopes) that I could send that mask anywhere in the world if it was wanted. (I am thinking about sealing it in a plastic ziplock bag and sending it off to the charity shop.)
Well done everyone for all of those phone books going out, not to mention lemonade bottles, random food and sad veggies. Today's contribution from the jendela household is an out of date bottle of Thai sweet chilli sauce to season the food and veggies. Unswamping - what a great idea for tobogganing, I can't wait to see everyone at this week's party.

If it's phone book week, I can add a few. I can also add a bunch of magazines that someone saved for me. My biggest contribution will be a week's worth of bones I've got stashed in my fridge. Yikes, my freezer was too full to hold them and now they're choking my fridge. Who wants ribs? How about some KFC? Yummy!
I'm also bringing a container full of old pens, to go with last week's assortment. I had an eye-opener yesterday, as I went around room to room, picking up all sorts of stuff (that DH left in a squalorous state, while I was working) and not enjoying it one bit. I'm going to be more vigilant about allowing junk to stay under my roof, taking up valuable space that I could be using for 'real' things. An old cookie tin, filled with even older pens, really doesn't need to be here.

Im cleaning my living room. Contributions to the party: large bag of organizing containers to donate, 2 squeegees with damaged edges to trash, some cardboard egg cartons (im not starting seeds this year) to recycling. Found 7 ice scrapers. Put them in bag to take to car. Will try them to remember which are the good ones, will keep two and donate the rest. Oh, and some dirt and empty pots from the large bucket that had my gardening hand tools were in.

A book to donate, half a bag of trash, mostly packaging, some cardboard boxes. No really fun stuff today. Except the plastic ice cream container. Eaten and washed two or more years ago. Eeww didnt do the best washing job, there was some petrified chocolate ice cream on the container and lid.

Today I faced bringing the SOUP to the Landfill Party! Yes, that soup that had been festering under foil in the fridge for a few weeks. I was frightened, but I remembered a great post in the TRAUMA CORNER thread where we discussed being scared for nothing. I had anxiety over the stupid soup, but it was frozen solid and came out as a chunk of brown ice...not a mouldy, stinky mess I was scared of. Washed away from bowl so easily. While I was in the fridge, I did the lot and have brought the following to party with! various mouldy black lettuce leaves, a rusty fruit salad can, 2 old milks... plus 2 bags of trash!!!

Acorn squash anyone? Half of it looked beautiful...the bottom was green and almost gone, rotted in. Yummy!

Ooooh...let me add a melon to the party. I bought a beautiful cantelope melon then had no room for it in the fridge. ANd I promptly forgot about it.
I do not have many leftovers to add - we have managed to eat them this week.
