Hmm, I am moving a little with my goal. Lost a half of a kilo I think it is due to eating proper meals all week.

Hi all, I will jump in too, we are in Winter here in Australia, so this will be a good motivator for me to get the yard in shape for Spring. So, this means outside tasks for me. 1. Deep clean the front porch. 2. Clean the cat pens and put in new floor covering (sand). 3. Poison the weeds in the driveway. 4. Weed front garden bed. 5. Trim the edges and mow the lawns. 6. Draw up a plan for new garden beds and removal of driveway garden - it is a weed magnet and the plants scratch the car. 7. Consider a temporary front fence until the new one is put in.

Sparkle, I just found your blog!
Angela and Angelpuss, so nice to see you guys here!
I see I didn't post yesterday, I was able to do my stretching, and I got a small start on my book job. I started the large project of going through all the book records to make sure everything is priced correctly and still on the shelves. Today I got a lot more done on this, so my total so far is 4 hours and 20 minutes. This is the way book stuff is for me, once I start, it's not hard to keep going, and if fact I usually throw myself into it and neglect other things. So I'm guessing I'll have the 10 hours of my book job done before long, and will continue on until this project is over, if necessary.
However, I did not do my stretching for today yet, so I will do it before I go to bed, which will be very soon.
In a few days we'll be one quarter done with this 2-month challenge. I haven't even started anything but the book job and stretching, so I have to get moving.

angelpuss and dtesposito! Glad you got so much done on your book job and stretching too! On my project of cleaning and decluttering my everyday use spaces, I made more progress on the back porch. Some picking up, a lot of shop-vaccing of cobwebs and rat poo. Also cleaned out probably 100 plastic grocery bags from one of the shelves of my corner unit. I can't believe how many I had stuffed in there! On sorting and decision making, I did more work on the front porch. Got all of S's kitchen stuff looked through and consolidated. It will go to my Mom's early next week for storage until their community garage sale on August 1st. The clothing is gone. Picked up by a Freecycler this morning, hooray! I've gained some floor space in the living room so I can continue sorting and moving go-away things out towards the front of the house. I have two deadlines now which makes me VERY anxious. I need to have my wholesale wool stuffed into the wool bag and delivered to the drop-off location by the 20th. I am planning to go on Wednesday. I haven't started the process. It doesn't take forever but I am nervous about it now. The other deadline is the community sale at my folks on August 1st. I want to get as much as I possibly can set out for that sale.

Okay, I have good news and bad news. I will say the bad news first.
Last night I totally forgot about my stretching. I'm really mad because I had a good string of days going--this is the first one I missed. Totally forgot about it. I think I need to put a reminder on my computer. I didn't think I needed one, because I'm on this site so often and I see the challenge thread all the time which reminds me--but I worked so much on my book job yesterday that it was the only thing I was thinking about.
Which brings me to the good news, which is that yesterday I worked for 3 and a half hours on the book maintenance project. I'm about an hour away with being done, it didn't take quite as long as I thought it would. So I'm up to 7 hours 50 minutes out the 10 I committed to.
Getting this project done will be a good thing for me, because I've put it off for a while, and it creates a mess in my 2nd BR, and it slows down book orders because things aren't up to date. So any time I do a procrastination item it kind of clears my mental energy by taking away one of those little things dragging me down in the back of my mind.
The other good news is that I did something towards my further decluttering and forgot to report it here. I have an old trunk in my DR that held 78rpm records and old sheet music--nostalgic value only, no monetary value. I've had those things since I was in my 20s, and dragged them around with me, and now they've been in my DR for the 18 years I've lived here. I've opened that trunk maybe twice in the last 18 years, mostly to see if I still wanted them, and I decided that I did, and closed it back up again.
In looking around for additional things to declutter, there's a messy corner in the DR, and the trunk is right nearby and I guess I finally realized that I had enough of it. I went through the records, checked a few online to make sure they were still worthless, and packed most of them up in shopping bags and put them out next to my dumpster. The next day they were gone, so maybe someone else has more patience or a source to make a few dollars from them--or else they also have a nostalgic fondness for them. I saved a few so that I could look at them if I wanted to.
That was a hard thing for me because I consider old things like that to be a part of history, and once they're gone, they're gone--you'll never see them again. But clearly I wasn't getting much enjoyment from them, and I would rather have the open space. However, I now have to figure out what to do with the trunk. It's not a nice one, it looks kind of neat from the outside but inside the musty smell is too strong to store anything in there except non-porous items, so I don't know what I'm going to do with it. I'd like to get rid of the trunk too, but I'm not quite ready for that--so will probably put it in my storage area in the basement, but only if I can put other stored items inside it. Or, I'll put things in it but leave it open and see if the musty smell dissipates at all--it might, now that the old paper is out of there. I'm pretty sure I'll get rid of it eventually but I'm not ready yet.
BUT, it will be out of my DR. As soon as I figure out how to get it into my storage unit and shift some things into it. There are other things in that corner to get rid of too.

Angela, I assume the wool is to sell, correct? Do you have any way to dispose of things not sold at the community sale? So they don't come back? Are you still working at any of your various jobs now? I remember seeing something in one of your posts about still doing demos, I think. I'm sure you're needing to get as much money as you can while getting things out of your house, without going too far and wasting a lot of time for little gain. It's a tricky balance. Diane

Everyone is doing so great! I finally have something to post put on display 8 bags of my stuffed animals today. I have 7 bags left but I know where they are going - just getting tired of going up and down on the step stool!

phoenixcat! Good job with your stretching Diane. You had asked me about the wool, yes it is to sell. Some of it will be sold wholesale for cheap, some with be sold unwashed (raw), some will be washed, some dyed, etc. Today was a really disjointed day but I did get a dump run done, another tomorrow. I had an old friend stop by for an impromptu visit and I might be giving him quite a bit of the kitchen stuff on the front porch that I and planned to try to sell at the garage sale on the 1st. It could be a blessing for both of us. I need this stuff gone and he is setting up an apartment for himself. The bags of food went to a Freecycler yesterday, and today another free bag of stuff went away. I didn't make any progress on the wool, maybe tomorrow? I hope...

Phoenixcat, wow, 15 bags of stuffed animals? Are they any particular kind of animals? Angela, you seem to be making a lot of progress with getting stuff out. I hope it works out to give stuff to your friend, that's the best of both worlds--helps a friend and stuff is out of the house. Is your wool work the kind of thing that you can do one baby step at a time? Or is it something you have to finish once you start? I did my stretching, I also did another hour on my book job. The actual books are all checked and organized now, I still have a little bit of clean up to do--mainly figure out what to do with the books I'm getting rid of. Which I guess technically is no longer my book job--once I determine that they're not able to be sold, they become regular book clutter. Anyway, I'm at 9 hours on that challenge. Funny, every time I went into the DR today I looked at the blinds and thought how nice it will be when they're all clean in there. Still dread cleaning them but the desire for the reward is getting stronger and stronger. Diane

Hi dtesposito! on stretching and more work on your book job! I bet it's starting to feel really good to have your salable inventory in order. Cleaning those blinds could make huge difference! It's great to hear your energy is turning that direction. My Mom and her husband came over today and we loaded their Jeep with things that either Mom wants (a wicker chair) or things that we decided would be worth trying to sell at their community garage sale. Did another dump run. Unearthed some knives that S had that are valuable. So those are in the growing eBay pile. Then my friend came over and we loaded him up with all sorts of stuff. A bookcase, the old tv, a set of dishes, silverware, mugs, cookware, microwave...etc., etc. Filled his van. There is more kitchen stuff left, some worth garage sale-ing, some not. One more session I think for that part of things. Moved all the old computer stuff from the living room to the front porch ready for go-away to the local recycling place. Put some old VHS herbal medicine training tapes on Freecycle and free on Craigslist. No work on the wool today.

I'm joining. I have boxes and boxes and boxes of stuff from my parents, from when they downsized to a retirement center two years ago. I didn't take everything they owned, but anything I couldn't instantly say "no" to ended up in my house.
I'd love to think I could go through ALL of that by August 31, but that's probably dream thinking. Yet I can start! I'm declaring I will completely organize one of the closets full of that stuff by August 31. And if I get done early, I'll move on to a new section.
I'm going to start by pulling a box out of that closet after I get dressed, and begin sorting!
