All for keeping calm and that my folks somehow magically have learned to keep their negative comments to themselves appreciated. (It's not for nothing that we call them "The Bickersons") You've got it, PaperGrace! Here's hoping your curb alert works & the furniture disappears! May good things begin to fall into place to make your move go as smoothly as possible!

Your parents! Grrr!
Cheers for managing this extremely difficult move so well. Big whew that it's turning out better than expected. How are the boys adapting or can you tell yet? I love that you have a park nearby for them, a place for them to expend some of that energy. The move was worth it for that alone.
Thanks for posting when you're so very busy. We're out here, pulling for you.

Papergrace, good luck today with the parents, and if they have negative comments try the kill with kindness routine--when they say "how could you leave this til the last minute" give them a huge smile, and sound as sincere as possible when you loudly say--"I KNOW! I'm so lucky I have your help, you are SO SWEET to help me!" And then repeat as needed. They will be utterly confused. Or at least you can be concentrating on your acting role instead of what they're saying to you.

Thanks all for the good vibes and humor to help pull me through. We're not quite finished, but Mrs. PM was ok with us taking a couple of extra days. Having that wiggle room made it a lot easier to take the help I had and let any of the extra GRRRR roll off my back. Unfortunately Mrs. PM popped in while we were at it and gushed about how great my family is for helping (they are!) which led to several snarky comments from Mom about how I 'said she'd gotten rid of some stuff but look around'... this after demanding over the phone days earlier that I hold anything I was giving away so she could have first crack at it.

Current Downsizing Status: Still not unpacked, physically recovering slowly from move, mentally recovering ok--but we aren't as able to get away from each other and we still have an extra body in the house with way less space to stash him and his stuff... frustrating so far. Hopefully this will change some when it is just the four of us again and we've unpacked.
