Friday Sept 1/ 17
I have not posted on this thread for a couple of days. I was working out a newish routine of cleaning a room a day plus incorporating zone work. When I work something - and something 'happens' I try to ask myself WHY it wasn't working - and change it. Thus I often change things up frequently.
Yesterday did not work out well. It had a roadblock - but that wasn't what I think needed changing.
My goals yesterday were general cleaning of the LR and DR. Since it was Thurs I normally do clothes laundry - I had 2 loads. I was working on the kitchen for my zone - and yesterday's goal was to clean along the north wall, meaning cleaning under the desk in there. All of this should have been easy to accomplish. HOWEVER - I had papers in the LR to sort, bills etc. I got them sorted and into piles, some to their destiny, while I did laundry. I also did dailies then. Laundry was done by noon, so I had lunch, and on a whim decided I wanted to go down to the market at the nearby mall and get some peaches. The mall is 2 blocks away - and the market part of it is on the other side, so basically 3 blocks. Should be easy, however coming home is uphill which I know always bothers my back/ hip, and did yesterday too. I was actually more sore than normal, which caused me to not clean up when I got home. So basically none of my plans happened. I knew better than to go to the market, but the memory of this vendor's peaches from last year tempted me. I doubt very much if I go back there again.
But the market is NOT what waylaid me. It was the paperwork! Although I 'worked' on it, it was still IN the room - only more scattered. Several small piles instead of all tossed onto 1 chair. Paperwork has always been a huge issue for me - even though I know there is nothing 'nasty' in there - most of this was papers related to car and cell phone purchases, a couple of recipes, notes re home thoughts and exercise routines etc. A wide assortment, so several piles. But MY reality is that I should not have to tend to these in order to clean that room. (But if I just clean around them, the room still looks messy.) So neither fully got done, because of the back pain of going out.
So this is where I look and see that I need to change things up - because this didn't work. The back pain was not the cause - it was the eye-opener. So, now Friday I am still left with all of these things undone - plus today's stuff to do. And although I'd prefer to not backtrack, the LR/DR is my most visible and most used area, so I don't want to leave it for another week. And in the meantime, as we finish 1 month and start another, so too are the zone areas I am working on changing, so that is affected as well.
I have 2 possible cleaning scenarios to work on: 1) Do a weekly clean, 1 ROOM a day - and do something extra (deep clean or project) in that room during that day. (But that doesn't seem to give much time to get any serious projects done) Or 2) Do a weekly clean, doing 1 TASK a day - and do something in that week's zone (room) each day (working around the room). That seems to give more time, often a full week, to work on that room's project or deep cleaning.)
So now I an going to change up again and opt for Scenario #2. And the FIRST task of each week will be a general tidying through - which includes paperwork. Actually paperwork is what needs tidying most - so I will give it a full day. Oops - sorry - just checked my latest list - no the first day will be paperwork and the kitchen - the kitchen seems to be extra messy after a weekend. Then tidying the rest will be Tuesday - along with laundry. So by the time Wed comes, hopefully the major messes will be out of the way so I can concentrate on cleaning.
However, in the meantime, I still have today to catch up the undone things from yesterday. But I think I will move these papers to the top of my paperwork (bills) etc, file cube, and can tend to them on Monday. The car papers are finally together in a folder, and no bills are outstanding, so this will work.
This week I also decided that I do not want to combine groceries with anything else. I have tried to not do it Saturdays because I expected the stores to be crazy - however the store I normally go to is not (I have gone a couple of Saturdays), and has better parking than most of the smaller stores, so I am going to shop Saturdays now and see how it goes.
I will make another post with my general lists for future. In addition I 'teamed up' certain tasks with the monthly zone areas, hoping this also evens everything out. Because each zone area also includes the items stored there (example clothes and crafts in my bedroom), I am trying to team up weaning out my blog subscriptions to the related interests, plus extra laundry goes with the zones (i.e. tea towels with kitchen), AND I could set up errands related to each zone too - like cleaning supplies to the bathroom zone which also includes the broom (cleaning) closet. That might help limit the errands I need to do any given week.

Sunday Sept 3, 2017 I'm going to post a sort of mini-list for the week here. Today starts a new zone (#2), the bedroom, although I didn't finish Zone 1, the bathroom etc, which was Fri and Sat. I have not felt great the last couple of days, and the kitchen zone went slower than I had planned, although what I did do looks and feels so much better. In addition, we got notices saying we are getting an inspection on Thursday, and it will be re pests. They will be checking areas like under sinks and around beds and couch areas. I should be starting the new zone area of my bedroom today, but I was going to work around the room starting at the closet wall. The closet still has some storage issues to work out - however I know the area under my bed collects dust badly along the baseboard, so I want to get that cleaned up too before the inspection, plus the wall along and under the couch, so I can't really stick to my zone plans for this week. I will have to do a few things I was leaving for zone work in other rooms. I'm also still working on some general moving stuff around, that I want to finish. It's turned very cold here. Not really cold, but cold for this time of year. My body is having trouble adjusting to it. I normally have to have windows open because the sun heats up the apt so much, and it gets too hot in winter when the heat is on, so having to close it up in Sept just feels really odd. But when I removed the window fans from the 2 bedroom windows the other night, I saw how much dirt those fans had sucked into the screens behind. I'd like to see if I can brush the dirt out of those, and then vacuum it up too. So this week is going to be an odd assortment of tasks. I have been slowly working through washing up the bird items too. I have specific 'bins' I use for washing those in the bathtub too, so I'd like to get those finished up. Then scrub up the bathroom afterwards. This list will be in no particular order, other than by room, but it's stuff I'd like to get done by Thursday, then the weekend. BEDROOM: Sort out tall 5 drawer craft cabinet - change around if able switched with 3 drawer one from spare room Vacuum closet Put stuff back into closet as able Brush off bedroom screen , then vacuum Move all paperwork (file cube and baskets) into spare room Remove stuff from under bed and vacuum well - OR dustmop Find a better place to keep donations. Weekly dusting and vacuuming Weekly linen switch SPARE ROOM and BIRDS: Clean out cage x 2 Switch out some toys and perch Wash remaining dishes in bins in tub Wash perch and toys in bins in tub Dust off screen, and vacuum it Wipe down wall behind cage Weekly dust and vacuuming, especially seed-collecting areas Damp mop floor around where cage sits BATHROOM: Wipe down shower walls Weekly scrub down of sink tub and toilet Good scrub of bathroom floor HALL Remove all out of place items Weekly dusting and vacuuming KITCHEN Weekly scrubbing of counters, sinks and stove top Weekly vac and mop floor LR/ DR Put away laundry in hamper (tea towels and cleaning cloths) Remove stuff to locker Put items in car Put away lamps I had out to provide light for birds when I was away, blankets, anything else out of place Wipe down wall behind where bird cage sits Good vac of couch Good vac of under couch OR dustmop Good vac of areas where bird seeds spill Damp mop area around cage Change tablecloth Weekly dusting and vacuuming

Monday September 11/ 17 Last week I spent a lot of time catching up/ getting ahead pre-pest inspection last Thursday. I even worked ahead on some of my dustier under furniture areas in other zones. Doing that, I had the realization that maybe instead of trying to vac regularly with the stick vacs that can't make it under a lot of the furniture, I might be better off dust-mopping the hardwood floors, including under the furniture, and then giving that area a really good vac with the canister vac while in that zone. This should work if I keep up daily vacuuming on the bird areas and the kitchen, and vac the 2 area rugs a couple of times a week. So now I am ready to experiment with that. My trials of the dust-mopping took very little time, so I have now broken my cleaning routines down to 3 tasks - scrubbing (kitchen and bathroom), dusting, and floors. They should now take less than 15 minutes a day - once the dailies are done - and hopefully keep things in order. They will be done twice a week, cycling through, Mon - Sat. Then I can use the rest of my time for other weeklies, like paying bills, laundry, groceries and errands. Add in 30-60 minutes a day in that week's zone - and the rest of the time is mine to do as I wish. So that is the rough plan for this upcoming week. 2 days per task (rotate), and Sundays as a free day, where I might do balcony stuff if I don't do it during the week. So, as I have done lately, I am going to post a list for myself, for the entire week, and then update it each day. DAILIES: Self care - wash hair, shower, dress x 7 Exercise - walk 2 miles x1 Exercise - walk 30 min with weights x 1 ADD: Exercise - Pilates x 2 Bird care - feed and water x 7 Make bed x 6 Dishes - caught up at least once x 6 Clean kitchen sinks, counters, stove x 6 Kitchen garbage out x 5 Water outdoor plants (every other day?) x 2 Vac bird area LR x 7 Vac bird area spare room x 5 Swish and swipe bathroom WEEKLIES: Clean bird cage x 2 Dust through x 2 Scrub kitchen and bath x 2 Change towels x 2 x 2 Change sheets Dustmop through x 2 Vac area rugs x 2 Mop kitchen, entrance and bath x 2 Laundry x 2 Errands Groceries Pay bills, or other paperwork Balcony work ? ZONE: Spare Room, Birds, Papers (some time daily, starting on north wall, and paperwork) UNPLANNED ZONE INSTEAD: KITCHEN: Remove all items from all cabinets Remove items from all drawers Wash down insides of upper cabinets Wash down insides of lower cabinets Wash insides of drawers Replace all items in upper cabinets Replace all items in lower cabinets Replace all items in drawers started BATHROOM: Remove all items in drawers and under sink Wash down areas under sink, in drawers Replace items under sink and in drawers

Mon Sept 18/ 17 I had a tiring week last week, with an unplanned visit by the pest control people (I've had trouble with ants and the usual traps didn't work.) I was notified to empty all cabinets, and drawers in kitchen and bathroom, which I didn't need to do in the end, as he only put around some gooey blobs of stuff on some areas of the lip of the kitchen and bathroom counters and under the sinks. He came Wed afternoon, and after that I was finally able to spend 2 days doing overdue errands and then slowly putting things back in the kitchen cabinets after wiping them all down, except under the sink. (No ants seen in the kitchen since, but pretty steadily in the bathroom, going for the gooey blobs.) (I'm not putting anything back in the bathroom cabinet until I stop seeing them.) So not much basic housecleaning got done. And 1 of my errands got sidetracked, and I ended up seeing and buying a rocker-recliner - I have been looking for one that 'fits' me off and on for about 4 years - since before I moved here. I expect delivery of it today - but no idea yet where it will actually 'live'. I need to reassess room functions and move other furniture pieces accordingly, to try to make this work as good as possible. So the plan this week is to basically clean rooms - a) to catch up and b) to move items around in each to make the chair 'fit'. Part of the trial will have the birds staying in the LR 24/7. So here are this week's plans, and I will edit daily as to what I get done. DAILIES: Self care - wash hair, shower, dress x 7 Exercise - walking routine x 2 Exercise - Pilates x 5 Bird care - feed and water x 6 Make bed x 7 Dishes - caught up at least once x 5 Clean kitchen sinks, counters, stove x 6 Kitchen garbage out x 7 Water outdoor plants (every other day?) x 3 Vac bird area LR x 7 Swish and swipe bathroom WEEKLIES: Clean bird cage x 2 Kitchen - scrub, vac, mop LR, DR, entrance - dust , dustmop, vac , mop entrance Bathroom - scrub, vac, mop Change towels x 2 x 2 Bedroom - dust , dust mop, vac, move furniture Change sheets Spare room - dust , dust mop, vac, move furniture Hall - dust , dust mop, vac, move furniture Laundry x 2 Errands Groceries Pay bills, or other paperwork Balcony work ? ZONE: SPARE ROOM, Birds, Papers (some time daily, starting on north wall, and paperwork) (Try again, after weeklies get done) Wing chair moved to bedroom Gateleg table moved to hall 2 large arm chairs from LR moved to spare room Triple mirror vanity moved to different location in spare room Other tables and totes moved around in spare room Old bird cage (used as possible play area) dismantled and taken down to dumpster UNPLANNED ZONE INSTEAD: KITCHEN: Replace all items in lower cabinets except under sink Replace all items in drawers BATHROOM: Replace items under sink and in drawers (On hold) BEDROOM: Desk moved to under window Night table moved back to beside bed Pilates Performer moved to beside night table Room made to place wing chair LR/ DR: Area where 2 arm chairs had been cleaned up New rocker/ recliner unpacked and placed there DR table turned around 90 degrees since more space Assorted side tables moved

Last week I spent most of the week moving around furniture to accommodate my new rocker recliner, set up the spare room with the previous LR chairs, as a paperwork area, and the Pilates Reformer in my bedroom to start using again. Plus I finished getting the kitchen back together except for the under sink area. So it seemed housework got done in bits and pieces. This week it should be better, easier. And The LR/DR are this week's zone. I also want to extend that zone to include the balcony and my locker as things just got tossed down there. So here is my list for the week of Monday Sept 25 - Sun Oct 1/ 17: DAILIES: Self care - wash hair, shower, dress x 7 Exercise - walking routine x 4 Exercise - Pilates x 4 Bird care - feed and water x 6 Make bed x 7 Dishes - caught up at least once started x 5 x 2 Clean kitchen sinks, counters, stove X 3 Kitchen garbage out x 5 Water outdoor plants (every other day?) Well last week didn't go entirely as planned either. First we had several very hot (record- breaking) days here where it was too hot to work on the balcony, or down in the stifling locker room, and too sunny to clean the wall to wall LR and DR windows without the inevitable streaking. In addition I discovered a topic of Wearing Your Truth, re Energy profiling, which then leads to dressing for your energy type. That lead to watching lots of videos, trialing clothing styles as I waivered between types, and rearranging my closets 3(?) times re my type. In the end I have concluded that I am a Type 4, which a strong Type 2 secondary. Currently my bedroom closet is ALL type 4 now, with clothing from the other 3 in the spare room, and a couple of undecideds hanging on hooks on the inside doors. And as much as all of this sounds like a lot of 'woo', it really really speaks to me, has been incredibly enlightening, has helped me figure out more just who am I at this phase of my life - and has made an impact on me realizing that others do not think like me, and that we are all okay, just different - so I can let a lot of things 'go' now. I hope this continues. I have spent the last 3 days dressing purely as Type 4, including makeup that I had stopped, and I feel so much better inside and out. Part of my assessment of myself and others, resulted in another weekly plan to work along with others' ways of doing things, without causing me stress. At least for now. (Type 4's seem to thrive on perfecting things, which explains my constant changing of my routines.) So for now the weekly outlooks are: Mon and Tues - projects, and seasonal deep cleaning Wed - a quiet day, either paperwork or personal errands, possibly alternating weeks Thurs and Fri - cleaning the apt, with 1 task getting more attention throughout each week, mostly monthly tasks instead of zone work now Sat. - groceries, possibly errands if in the same plaza Sun - rest day, bird, plant and me care I am not sure where I am going with all of this yet. I'm considering making a list of long-term projects to get me through the year - thus reducing the stress of trying to do it all. So right now I am just going to put out my list for today and tomorrow, the project days, and then go from there. Since I have no concrete projects other than the ones listed last week, I will work on finishing those. List for Mon Oct 2 - Tues Oct 3/ 17 - Project Days DAILIES: Self care - wash hair, shower, dress, makeup Exercise daily Bird care - feed and water Make bed Dishes - caught up at least once Clean kitchen sinks, counters, stove Kitchen garbage out Water outdoor plants (every other day?) Vac bird area LR Swish and swipe bathroom WEEKLIES: LAUNDRY (Tues) Change towels Change sheets Do laundry (2 loads) Put away laundry PROJECTS (or seasonal deep cleaning): Assess clothing hanging on closet doors for correct colour tones Remove types 1 2 and 3 to spare room Bag up Type 3 clothes for donation (?) Go through hanging shoe bag retrieved from closet shuffle, and remove ones no longer suitable for feet (orthotics), for donation Toss 3 remaining pots of dying summer annuals from balcony (Deleted) Empty soil from urns (Deleted) Sweep balcony (Deleted) Remove seasonal baking and cookie tins from storage closet and move to tote in locker Wash 4 large LR windows (Deleted) Finish putting out LR fall décor - tablecloth, wreath, centerpiece Work on a long term project list ADD: Per new project list: Good wipe down of DR table and chairs Recover DR chair x 1 ME TIME: Work daily on crocheting blanket (while watching Downton Abbey)

Wednesday October 4, 2017 Yesterday early AM I made up a list for the year of weekly 'projects', or the seasonal deep cleaning tasks, mainly 1 room (or category) a month, with a different focus on 4 weeks a month. I did this for all aspects of my life, featuring in holidays, and seasons, etc. In the end I decided that balcony stuff can be done later in Oct. However early Oct (first week?) is always the Canadian Thanksgiving, so any plans related to that should come first. Although my place isn't big enough to have lots of people here, I can still entertain a few as needed. Most likely Thanksgiving will be at G's, ddil's mother's, since the kids didn't like having 2 separate dinners. However I still plan my tasks as possibly having a dinner because it could always change. (And I still cook a small one for me since I love the leftovers!) Sooooo the focus for this week changed to wiping down the DR table and chairs. However, 1 DR chair was still not recovered, so I decided that THAT would be my main project for this week, instead of the balcony. However I didn't decide this until the 2nd of 2 days for projects this week - and didn't even get my supplies together until late Tues afternoon - but now the chair seat is off and the yucky old fabric removed - which took an hour or more. So even though my 'project days' are over, I will still work on this chair. (BTW I still have 1 other chair to finish in my bedroom, so I really should try to do that this week too. Then not only would they FINALLY ALL!!!!!! be done (after years) but their supply storage area would be freed up too. Wednesday's focus is supposed to be a quiet day - doing paperwork or personal errands. I'm considering alternate weeks for these, with this week most likely being errands. I have a bit of both I could do - or fit in later in the week, so although I like the plan of this week's layout, it's not quite as planned this week - I'm winging it in a few areas. Main cleaning will still be Thurs and Fri, but some of these others might be thrown in as well. So today is a lot of 'maybe's - but it would be nice to get at least 1 chair done before cleaning as removing the old fabric got quite messy. List for Wed Oct 4/ 17 - Quiet Day - Paperwork or Errands DAILIES: Self care - wash hair, shower, dress, makeup Exercise daily Bird care - feed and water Make bed Dishes - caught up at least once Clean kitchen sinks, counters, stove Kitchen garbage out Water outdoor plants (every other day?) Vac bird area LR Swish and swipe bathroom WEEKLIES: ERRAND: Hair cut PAPERWORK: (maybe) Move (sorted) paperwork piles from table in hall to spare room Find 2 papers to be dealt with in near future - lease renewal - license registration Write up project list for year in bullet journal Print out project list and add to homemaking binder Update budget book Search for a doable recipe for Thanksgiving ? not needed LEFTOVERS: WEEKLY: LAUNDRY (Tues) Put away laundry PROJECTS (or seasonal deep cleaning): Good wipe down of DR table and chairs Recover DR chair x 1 ? Recover last DR chair, in bedroom ME TIME: Work daily on crocheting blanket (while watching Downton Abbey) Continue working on wardrobe capsule for Type 4

Yesterday I finished recovering the DR chair, which was my main goal. And I wiped down the DR table and chairs - lots of little ridges and grooves to clean. After more research, plus soul-searching, I became aware that I am more Type 2 than Type 4 in the Wearing your Truth energy profiles, I just had the primary and secondary swapped - and that often happens. And I think it cemented that category even more for me. So with that in mind I didn't go for my haircut - I want to 'play' with it for a bit, since I had been wearing it mostly in a Type 4 style, and may want to let it grow out a bit more. I also saw that the other place I had wanted to go has seniors discount day today, so put that off too. And after deciding I am a softer gentler Type 2, and my clothing style and colours copy that, I'd really like to get to a second hand store to see if they have anything fitting that style. I think when I trialed it last week I wasn't understanding it totally and was going towards very low contrast clothing, which doesn't go well on me, but I think I have lots of the higher contrast Type 2 (greyed) items but I'd like more tops with the soft florals worked in. So, since I wanted to do the other errand today, I'll try to do that one too. (I'll try to work hard in the AM so I can reward myself in the afternoon.) I was notified that we're all going out for Thanksgiving dinner on Monday, so I wont need to find something to make to take to that, although I will make myself a mini-meal here anyway. So today and tomorrow are cleaning days - and today should be laundry day - althought it might be wiser to wait to see if I purchase anything and then can wash it too. The cleaning focus for this week is a MEGA-tidy, meaning looking with a very focused eye and (hopefully) moving things to where they will stay. I already have several out of place items to deal with, plus extra things I want to move in and around the bedroom and LR. And then a quick clean through. Note: we are now at the point where I could wash off the ant bait, and return items to their proper places under the kitchen and bathroom sinks. Those items are contained in bags and the bags were moved to under the sinks earlier in the week. I can handle this in 1 of 2 ways - either leave the kitchen and bathroom cleaning until Saturday and clean this stuff up then. Or up next week's cleaning extra to extra scrubbing, meaning these areas would still wait another week. I will see how everything else goes first, and work on the kitchen and bathroom at the end of this list. So the list for Thurs Oct 5 and Fri Oct 6/ 17: Cleaning, focus on extra tidying, Launder clothes = done = started DAILIES: Self care - wash hair, shower, dress, makeup Exercise daily Bird care - feed and water Make bed Dishes - caught up at least once Clean kitchen sinks, counters, stove Kitchen garbage out Water outdoor plants (every other day?) Vac bird area LR Swish and swipe bathroom WEEKLIES: BEDROOM: Tidy: - move dolls on desk to gateleg table in hall - move stained glass lamp and angels to desk - move Gone with the Wind lamp from circular table in corner to end of dresser (I always keep this in a protected area.) - move circular table to in front of DR window - move 'extra' lamp on dresser to night table - move any extra knickknacks as needed - deal with assorted scarves on chair - hang any extra clothing needing it - put craft items back in closet except I left out stuff to recover last chair, although wont be done until next wk - assess where to store extra fabric Dust half Vac LAUNDRY: - sort - launder - put away half - put away rest of previous laundry HALL: Tidy - move papers on gateleg table into spare room - put away laundry supplies, tools, anything out not included above Dust Vac SPARE ROOM: Tidy - find place to stack papers from hall, and recent printouts - put away (or in laundry hampers) all mitts, purses, shoe bags, etc on chairs - tidy vanity table, set up for better use Dust Vacuum LR/ DR, ENTRANCE: Tidy - put away all extras out, not included in craft and other items listed above - slide down side table in LR, and move magazine table and music center to end of couch from in front of DR window - maybe get rid of chair box Dust Vac Mop entrance ADD: Clean bird cage KITCHEN: Tidy - take down recycling - move extra décor items to bookcase in spare room (moved out of entrance when fall décor added) Scrub: sink, counters, stove Dust desk Vac Mop EXTRA: - clean lip of countertops well - clean area under sink, especially along back and partition walls - replace under sink items BATHROOM: Tidy - remove any out of place items Scrub - sink, tub, toilet Vac Mop floor Change towels Restock EXTRA: - clean lip of countertops well - clean area under sink, especially along back and partition walls - replace under sink items LEFTOVERS and ADD-ONS: ERRANDS: - go to second hand store and look for Type 2 tops - go to drug store and get some new makeup PAPERWORK: (maybe) Find 2 papers to be dealt with in near future - lease renewal - license registration Write up project list for year in bullet journal Print out project list and add to homemaking binder Update budget book ME TIME: Work daily on crocheting blanket (while watching Downton Abbey) Continue working on wardrobe capsule for Type 2 Shop secondhand store Buy new makeup Clip nails Polish nails ADD: Time visiting neighbour Time visiting ds and dgs Inform super re possible leak behind DR wall

Saturday October 7/ 17 I didn't get as much done over Thurs and Fri as I had hoped. Thursday, as I left my apt., I ran into an elderly neighbor that I hadn't seen since last fall, and we ended up chatting and I tried to help her learn a few things on her newly acquired tablet. Then I ran out to a secondhand store to buy myself some Type 2 tops, and a drug store where I bought Type 2 makeup, because that was a big discount day. In addition ds had asked me over for a couple of hours in the evening so I did that too. On Friday I informed the super re a possible leak behind my DR wall, that I had noticed when I hung a picture. I thought the super's dh was going to come check it out before they called a plumber, so I waited for him to show, since I don't think I might hear the door if I was working in the back, but he never came. In the meantime I have lots of makeup and accessories and some clothing around - dumped mostly in spare room - that still needs sorting. (I figured this weekend was a perfect time to putter away at it. I also didn't get to the under sink cleaning in the bathroom and kitchen, but have decided to make that as part of next week's project - but I still need to clean the bathroom and mop the floors. Saturday is actually my new grocery day, so that is my main goal today. Since this weekend is our Canadian Thanksgiving, I plan to buy some sort of small turkey today and cook it since I have no freezer room. Then I can have several days of leftovers. On Monday I'm going out to a Thanksgiving (restaurant) lunch with ddil's family. Sunday Oct 8/ 17 I did not get a lot of yesterday's list done. I went for groceries, cooked the turkey and did some cleaning in the back of the apt but did NO work on my clothing sorting, etc. I wasted a lot of time - but I was also tired. So many of those things are now moving on to today - but I might break the sorting of clothing and accessories down to very small bites, to be done slowly over the week. I'm afraid I might be burning out from over-thinking about my Type, and the right clothing colours etc, but I also do not want to stop. My ds emailed me last PM after I went to bed, suggesting a hike today. I replied this AM 'ok". I also asked if he might possibly take the ac unit out of my DR window afterwards. His reply said he is picking me up in 2 hours - yikes! My kitchen is a disaster of unwashed dishes. Well maybe not that bad - I tend to spread out instead of stack, so they sometimes look worse than they are, but 1st set is washed, next is soaking. I do them in small batches. I have LR stuff to still put away from yesterday, and a bag of dead plants I removed from the balcony to toss. Plus shower, dress, make my bed. The ac unit will be going in the LR coat closet, behind the bird cage. So I should try to get that area vac'd before he comes too - if not I can do it while he works on the ac itself. So my list for today is basically the same as yesterday's, with done stuff removed. So the list for Sun Oct 8/ 17: ME day, plus a bit of catch up = done = started DAILIES: Self care - wash hair, shower, dress, makeup Exercise daily Bird care - feed and water Make bed Dishes - caught up at least once Clean kitchen sinks, counters, stove Kitchen garbage out Water outdoor plants (every other day?) Yesterday I was able to get all of the clothing in both closets sorted. They are IN the closets but will still need tidying, as well as all of the accessory sort. And today, despite it being our Thanksgiving, also starts my 2 Project days. I had 3 things down for this weeks project - cleaning the china cabinet, removing the ac unit, and cleaning the coat closet floor where the ac unit gets stored. Well ds (and dgs) came over after our hike yesterday, and after another quick vac of the closet floor, the ac unit is out of the DR window and in there, so those 2 are done, although the ac unit needs a wipedown still. And of course the areas of the kitchen and bathroom where the ant bait was put can now be cleaned - so that is an added unplanned project. I bought new shelf liner to use under the kitchen sink. So much of this list is a continuation of the last list - although I am removing all but 3 areas of other tasks - cleaning the bathtub, mopping the kitchen and entrance floors and the paperwork stuff. So the list for Mon Oct 9 - Tues Oct 10/ 17: PROJECT DAYS: Remaining Projects: Clean china cabinet Additional Projects: Clean ant bait areas in kitchen and bathroom (NOTE: Changed to cleaning day Personal Projects: Sorting out Type 2 accessories, make-up etc. ADD: Recover last DR chair = done = started DAILIES: Self care - wash hair, shower, dress, makeup Exercise daily Bird care - feed and water Make bed Dishes - caught up at least once Clean kitchen sinks, counters, stove Kitchen garbage out Water outdoor plants (every other day?) Vac bird area LR Swish and swipe bathroom PROJECTS: CHINA CABINET: - wipe down outside - remove contents and clean - shelf 1 - shelf 2 - shelf 3 - 2 bottom drawers A/C REMOVAL - wipe down ac unit now in closet CLEAN UP AFTER ANT BAIT INTERVENTION: EDIT: Decided that instead of making this an additional project, I'd make this week's cleaning focus (for Thurs and Fri) 'scrubbing' to include both of these areas, moved it to earlier in the month. KITCHEN: - clean lip of countertops well - clean area under sink, especially along back and partition walls - replace under sink items ADD: - cut and lay new shelf liner under sink BATHROOM: - clean lip of countertops well - clean area under sink, especially along back and partition walls - replace under sink items, including clean recently added shelf liner CONTINUATION OF SORTING OUT TYPE 2 CLOTHING AND ITEMS: - sort items re types - mitts - purses - shoes - scarves - makeup - nail polish - bracelets - hats - (eventually necklaces) - re-organize bedroom closet putting Type 2 clothing categories together LEFTOVERS: WEEKLIES: LR/ DR, ENTRANCE: Mop entrance KITCHEN: Mop BATHROOM: Scrub - tub Change towels Restock PAPERWORK: (maybe, or leave until Wed.)) And the list continues!!! Due to Thanksgiving Day on Monday, and helping my elderly neighbour learn to use her new tablet for ~3 hours Tuesday, I'm behind, plus I've already had 2 fairly quiet days. Wednesday SHOULD be my 'quiet day' with paperwork and personal errands, but I can't do 1 errand until Thursday, so I'm going to kind of combine today and the next 2, and do things as I can. In addition I am still behind on some of my projects, but I am whittling them down. The LAST!!!!!! DR chair has had its seat removed, but I didn't get a chance to put the new cover on it yesterday, so that is 1 thing I really want to do today (Wed.) plus laundry I would normally do tomorrow. From my previous list I had cleaning under the kitchen and bathroom sinks down as projects - but instead I decided to make this week's cleaning focus on extra 'scrubbing', so I'm doing those areas now under the cleaning heading. I have new shelf liner to add under the kitchen sink too. I got quite a bit done on my previous list, especially yesterday. The ant bait areas are now put back together. I have gone through most of the accessory items and sorted into (presumed) Types - but none are yet put away. And the biggest accomplishment was finally recovering the last DR chair - even though it's in my bedroom. But I did get behind on my weekly cleaning, so I still have those to complete, vacuuming and some scrubbing. I ignored my crocheting the past few days, mainly because by the time evening came I was too tired to concentrate on it. I also decided to work on the DR chair first. Most days, except yesterday, I got exercising in. My errand got delayed, mostly due to yucky weather and associated aches. So mainly for today and Sunday I want to finish up on the undone tasks. I'm also considering assigning myself a paperwork task for each day. I seem to never get started on it, so I think breaking it into a tiny baby step each day might work, rather than trying to fit in what seems to me a large task weekly, and still not doing it. So for this weekend it's just going to be to tidy some paperwork, find a gift card I have hidden too well - may be in a paperwork pile, and delete some emails. Today ds has invited me over to watch a movie with him while dgs naps and ddil works, so that might take up most of my afternoon. List for Sat Oct 14 - Sun Oct 15/ 17 = done = started DAILIES: Self care - wash hair, shower, dress, makeup Exercise daily Bird care - feed and water Make bed Dishes - caught up at least once Clean kitchen sinks, counters, stove Kitchen garbage out Vac bird area LR Swish and swipe bathroom WEEKLIES: Kitchen - scrub sink, counters, stove top - clean microwave - wipe down small appliances - clean lip of counter where ant bait was put down Bathroom - good wipe down of shower walls Vac: - LR, DR, entrance, kitchen - Bedroom, Spare room, bathroom, hall Mop: - Kitchen, entrance - Bathroom Clean bird cage Water plants PAPERWORK: Write up revised project list for year in bullet journal Print out project list and add to homemaking binder Search for lost gift card found Delete some emails Sort some loose papers for 20 minutes PROJECTS: CONTINUATION OF SORTING OUT TYPE 2 CLOTHING AND ITEMS: - put away sorted items (purses, shoes, scarves, hats) by type (mitts in laundry, to be added later) - finish re-organizing bedroom closet putting Type 2 clothing categories together ME time: Polish nails Work daily on crocheting blanket (while watching Downton Abbey) Exercise daily ADD: Visit ds and dgs on Sat for lunch and a movie EXTRA: Recycling out Move 2 newly emptied totes to locker Deadhead plants Find a place to store (folding) Bakers racks for winter
