I haven't been on the site for awhile. I need to get back to work! What a month November has been. Our city had a major windstorm. Near hurricane force winds, and we aren't in hurricane territory. It knocked out power for half the city, and our house was without power for 100 hours. So the squalor exploded during that time. Then, just as we were recovering, my daughter went into labor early. I have another beautiful granddaughter! So I was away for a few days helping with her ... then catching up on sleep ... then Thanksgiving (thank God another daughter hosted that!) Yesterday was my first day to look at my home again, and I was so overwhelmed that I just sat and played computer games or read all day. My ultimate escape. My third daughter is over right now decorating for Christmas. More explosion than ever. At least the living room was clean enough for her to decorate. I still feel ultimate lethargy. That overtakes when there are so many things to do that I don't know where to start. I'll start with the laundry and the dining room table. I'm hoping for a cyber cheering squad! I'll be back.

Good afternoon everyone, I'm home, eating lunch, and watching a Christmas movie. I'll start working as soon as I catch up on what everyone is doing.
TML, I hope you share your journey with us, I'm glad to see you sounding determined to take charge of your life. You can find the balance you need to have a good relationship with your mom but save time for yourself in the process.
By the way, can you start spending just a short time every weekend throwing things out from your basement? That way the day will never come when you have to hire a dumpster and do everything all at once. Make use of your empty garbage can space now!

Hi Diane, welcome back, and congrats on the granddaughter!
Laundry is a good place to start to get back to normal, the machines can do a lot of the work while you tackle other things in between. I hope you get lots done today!

Thanks for the welcome back, dtesposito! I made it. I was overjoyed to find that while I was gone helping with little Laila, my hubby did some laundry. There was finished laundry in the dryer. So ... since the last post I have ... 1) Folded and put away the laundry from the dryer 2) Started a load in the washer 3) Persuaded my 2-year-old grandson to eat his lunch 4) Cleared off the dining room table 5) Wiped down the dining room table The basement, oh the basement. I was putting away things on the table such as the batteries, flashlights, and candles used during the power outage. I went downstairs with some of the stuff and was horrified. Worse than ever. But that's not the top priority yet. Next on my agenda: Balance the bank accounts Make a Christmas shopping list Onward ...

Earlier I had hung a few things out on the clothesline since it was so sunny today. Getting dark soon so I just brought them back inside... Frozen stiff underwear! Can you imagine putting them on?

Well, I can't get to the book order part of my list, I keep doing other things instead--I think I'll wait until tonight when I'm home for the day. I did get a call from my decluttering client, so that's out of the way for today. I'm listening to my Christmas music! Finished balancing my bank accounts. Yes! I have enough money to Christmas shop. Double yes! Then I got sidetracked working on genealogy online, instead of Christmas shopping online. I really do dislike shopping. So ... I'll get off the computer and work on a Christmas list. Who am I shopping for? What do I want to look for? Wish me luck. You go on the papers, Diane! And frozen stiff underwear ... there's a mental image for me, Sue.

Diane, good luck with the shopping, I like online shopping, assuming the websites work!
Time for me to leave for my last 2 dog walks of the day, I hope my feet hold out. I'm wearing a warmer sweatshirt under my jacket tonight, because I was actually too cold this afternoon!

Welcome back, Diane. I wish you luck recovering from your prolonged power outage and then helping with the new baby granddaughter. And now the Christmas preparations. Yes, the frozen underwear was funny! I was careful not to break them in half.

Sue, I watched Comfort and Joy, with Nancy McKeon and Steven Eckholdt. I watch that one every year.
