I'M HOME!! I'M HOME!! I'm now home for the rest of the day--I do not have to go out again--I can sit and rest my aching back/hips/feet. I'm home! I can lock the door and stay in here with my animals until tomorrow morning! Diane

Hi Serendipity! You got the Christmas movie part right, I'm watching one right now! I finished eating lunch, and now will try to get a few things done. I would love to crawl into bed and go to sleep, but that would not be the best thing I can do right now. Start a load of laundry Wash cat food dishes PEEP front half of apartment Bring my Christmas card bin out to the LR Diane

I have been working, not posting.. and I do read with a cup of coffee on a break. WOW a lot of work being done!
Diane.. just before I sat down with coffee to write this.. I FOUND THE SPRAY PAINT! I took the trash out, reveling in now I can go out the service door to garage, since I cleared the whole patio and pathway around to the front in the last weeks.. I starting thinking, could I have left it outside.. I did spray the lantern outside on the patio? Naw, I have been outside many times. I brought in my gloves, the cardboard I used etc! I have wrought iron round planter stands, that I did in my prime plant, all around the patio. I left one stand out, as I do not have the cash to plant then all anymore, right by the back door. There is a black pot in it.. I often put my work gloves in there if wet to dry.. AND sure enough the capless spray paint, the NEW can in the planter!
So much for my not keeping paint in the garage in winter, not freeze paint.. I leave it outside when below freezing! I actually looked in my fridge for it searching. I kept the paint brush in there wrapped up.. and thought could I have been that tired?
I spent a good part of yesterday, taking the silicone weather proof caulk off my 3 kitchen windows and the foam tape etc. I put that on 3 years ago.. and it is a triptych window. One picture window that does not open in the middle and two big windows on side that slide on a track to the middle to open. Spider webs, dirt in the window track exposed to the outside. IT was bad, and that takes up a whole wall almost, above my counters and looked terrible. You have to release the screen from inside, and since sealed shut, not been cleaned or opened in 3 years.. I vacuumed it all out, washed with soapy water, Q tip to clean.
The side windows were the only two I did not wash in my outdoor window cleaning in the last two weeks, cause the screen on. Washed the two I did not outside. Up and down the stepstool, semi kneeling on counter ( grabbed my oven mitts to cushion knees) on and on.
I also had to clear the counters to do this, over the sink and my long kitchen counters. So that added to time. AND I can not get up on the counters like I have in the past.. kneel on them or stand on them G forbid. Really getting older.. stinks.
So today, I am all set to work on this..
I decided to get some nice rubber type weatherstrip and try to seal it in a more attractive way.. the silicone works fine and it comes off without any issue, but shows on the wood etc and I had put some foam strips too that were not too good looking.. the flame test when -20 below and wind blowing, it comes right in that corner of my patio. I swear it is like a breeze! SO .. I do all this work, and put the rubbery stripping on, clean frame first from old residue etc etc. Get it nice and tight.. and I realize I do not think I can slide the window shut and LOCK IT! I CAN'T. This is not that thick, but it is just enough that it seals.. but must not compress.
I tackle so much and really, I felt like crying which is not me. NOT over this at least, I have plenty to cry about! I peeled that off the window and used some on my front door frame, which has that copper flashing weatherstrip around it so not to waste the stuff I bought. I'll come up with a solution.
I went out and put the greenery that is from my landscape clean out.. on my front planter on the front porch. Like evergreen branches from my bushes. I have giant pine trees, I usually cut some branches from those.. this will do. Just laid in layers. I am not too in the holiday spirit. I have a red/green flyer sled vintage and red wooden old skis I often put on porch. I do not know how I will get through Christmas this year. One day at a time is how.
Sue5000.. I finally hid a key outside. Really since the only window that I could break to get in, service door to the garage, has lexon in it and a keyed deadbolt.. a sledge hammer bounces off that window. I do not need to have to call a locksmith.. Be 300 dollars off hours! So simple and I kept forgetting to do it..
I need to cook the turkey I got at Aldis pre Thanksgiving. I am goint to put in my rottiserie oven! The one I got at that thrift shop for 21 dollars, with everything in a plain box, used maybe once. Even the elastic ties! A lady in my area, the receipt was in the box with her name and address.. I thought was she a hoarder, ordering off late night TV. Did her family clean out the house and donate this, or did she? In my thrift shopping days. Goes fast and fix it and forget it.. and I knew when I put that 10 lb, 99 cent a lb in my cart, is this a good idea? NOW I have to cook it..
I have laundry going. I have to put some order back in kitchen! I vacuumed the kitchen floor.. I need to wash two screens in the walk in shower.. dry and put back on windows or store in basement.
I hope all had a good holiday weekend, and if you have to head back to work tomorrow, you are all ready to go!

Hi misssue, I'm so glad you found the spray paint! Did you try it to see if it's still okay after being outside?
I'm also sorry about the rubber stripping not working out--I know how frustrating it is to work hard on something and find out that it didn't work out the way you planned. You're right, you'll think of something else to do!
That's right, tonight is the end of the holiday weekend for many, but for me--it's the end of my busy work week and I now have tonight off, and two lighter days coming up. I'm so relieved.

Diane I thought of you today, and I know this was your busy time! I hope your legs get a rest. I admire you for supporting yourself, and it is hard to be in business for yourself.. another concept people sometimes not get. You do not hustle, not get paid! I need to start hustling more! I hope you have a good rest of the night. AND good to be relieved.
I did not try the paint.. let it warm up in the house first! Just glad I found the darn thing!
My turkey is in the little rotisserie oven.. and seriously I am losing it. The hardest part cooking it, is getting it on the spit, evenly. Got it all going, about half hour later I pulled a rookie move.. I had to stop it, I forgot about the neck and had to take that out! I took out the giblets.. I spend way too much time alone.. How long have I been cooking? Like forever..
I bought mashed potatoes, and have not done that in ages.. I make my own. Thank goodness I did.. not that hungry and potatoes and few pieces of turkey it for me! I am going to watch TV and read my book later.. Hope all have a good night!

Misssue, I hope you enjoy your meal!
I've spent the evening watching Christmas movies, writing out some cards, and packing some book orders to send out. I'm now going to start getting ready for bed so I can go to sleep early. I feel so much better already, I really needed this slow, enjoyable evening.
