Hi BetsyMarie. Good luck with the digging back out! Before bed last night, took a chunk out of the over-flowing bin in the living room. (Rubbish mountain! ) And got it bagged up and put out for this morning's rubbish collection. This morning chatted to the kids about helping me, not by digging through it and clearing it up, but by not adding to it! Send important form off (it's overdue already!) Send repeat prescription. (Yep, you guessed it, overdue!) Measure for new net curtains.

Sapphire you should be proud of yourself. Great job! Im so glad you found out who reported you and that they will be pitching in to help. Looks like you got really important stuff done today. I can relate to you not being able to see the floors. Im in the same boat. BetsyMarie good to see you back here. Im going to try to pick up the small bits on the two square feet of floor space i have clear in the lving room. Then in the morning, maybe i can vacuum it. (Just picking up the bits i dont want the vacuum to deal with).

Thank you Unswamping Sending good vibes for your day. Picked up a few bits of recycling and put them in a black sack. Placed the open black sack on the floor close to the sofa, along with another open black sack for rubbish, and put a few bits in both. Every time I get up from the sofa, or return to it, grab at least one item of rubbish or recycling and put in the correct bag. Hang some more washing, if it isn't already too damp smelling already.

wooooo hooooo! company! i Loooooove company! I can't invite y'all in for tea and cookies, understand - but i'm slogging along with you all. everyone! I love that you are here Sapphire, and feel welcome. Yes, feel proud of anything you do. This is the thread for that! You too, BetsyMarie, def6, Unswamping - the point of this thread is EVERYONe is welcome to post anything they did or even want to do. The object is for us to start feeling good about our chipping-away little accomplishments. I haven't been on here much to report, but I am slogging away at things. Inspection is in one week! A terrifying thought. My friend is coming tomorrow. I don't know if we will work at storage or here tomorrow. He is also coming a day next week before inspection. I hope that will just be mostly cleaning and putting away - although where is always the question in the place of a hoarder. some things I got done in the last 5 days: I have gone to storage about every other day. Not much is being put into the "release" boxes but I did release a box of mosaic shards to the trash. I have a few boxes put together to go. 1) 2 loads of laundry washed, dried, and promptly put away last night 2) took some boxes of fall and winter clothes to storage (sorted through them for the donation bag today) 3) worked in my garden weeding for 6 hrs on Monday (been worthless physically all week from that) 4) went to yoga class this morning - hoping eventually that it will help. for now, it's really hard and my back is sore) 5) bagged up woolens: sweaters, lots of wool socks, some gloves, hats, and a few scarves to donate to Standing Rock Camp. I even put in my winter coat that I garden in, but having pangs about that so may take it back out. Some REALLY nice things are going - things I was going to consign and make some good credit. This feels much better! It's coooold in ND. Not so cold here that I can justify keeping these things, which were mostly not being used. will drop that off tomorrow to where it goes. 6) made a master list of all there is to do in the apartment there is so much to do before the 15th. Then i have a mere two weeks to focus on garden, art show in October, and such. Not enough time! But you know what? Anything that gets done will be more than if I didn't do anything, so I will work to be content and satisfied with anything i do.

But you know what? Anything that gets done will be more than if I didn't do anything, so I will work to be content and satisfied with anything i do. Thank you for this important reminder! I'm going to just keep re-reading your quote whenever I feel despondent about how little I achieve in a day. And instead of thinking "I've achieved little " I'll say "I've ACHIEVED a little! " Put a couple of bits of recycling in the black sack Put a couple of bits of rubbish in the other black sack Keep doing that throughout the day

creativechaos great work with all you gotten done, despite the pain you are in. Its fantastic that you did two loads of laundry and got it put away! Thats awesome. That is great you are donating stuff to ND. Im sure they will make good use of it. I forgot that they do a coat drive here, where it does get cold). I will need to go through my stuff too to see what i can donate. Sapphire good job on pickng up those bits and getting them where they belong. You are so right about ACHIEVE and you are doing it. Not much to say, did a bit of like with like. I really need to get the dishes done!

i hope your hot water is back, Unswamping! WTG on putting like with like; am doing the same in storage and it is helpful to me to organize my mind around projects i will do, and some i won't. somehow, this step of putting like with like makes it easier to let certain things go or at least THINK about letting them go. you did amazing work with the foyer too, unswampy - it's so beautiful! Sapphire, great work on calling landlord and getting him to visit later! woo hoo! that was great thinking! And WTG with your black sack attack! i chipped away a bit tonight on the inspection stuff. lots of hanging up, putting away, some tossing and recycling and some little things in a donation box. now it is late and i am going to bed. keep up the great work, everyone!

The water came back on later that day and i got the dishes done. Water leaks are frequent here, you would think i had learned to be better about doing the dishes. Maybe i need to purge more dishes so they pile up less? creativechaos great work on chipping away at it. Humans only have two hands, we can only do one thing at a time. Hanging up one shirt, tossing one puece of trash is the way to go. Like with like is definetely helping. Ive found some duplicates that i can let go, i wnt have seen that if i wasnt putting like with like. Im glad you are getting some clarity on your projects, that is a big help. You can do this!

Thanks for the welcome back everyone.
I have the whole day today, so want to get lots done. I spent the last 40 minutes or so adding more stuff to the recycling bin (in the front entry for ease of filling). It's a triple can holding 95 gallons - almost crammed full yesterday and today. Slowly but surely I can see more definition in the house as I clear the piles of crap stuff.
Slow and steady wins the race.
