Diane, before I flagged down my neighbor for help with the water heater last week, my db gave me an idea about finding plumbers which would also work with electricians. There is an electrical/plumbing supply place in my town. Db suggested I call this place & ask for a recommendation.
Would this work for you?

Ima, I don't have an electrical supply place anywhere, but your message made me think I should go to a hardware store to ask. The store near me is very small, there's a much larger one farther away that I know has business cards of people out on their counters--but I don't know if these are people they know and can actually recommend, or people who come in and say "here's a stack of my cards, please put them on your counter". I probably should have asked at the small store--if the person who's coming tomorrow for an estimate does not work out I will do that.
I did find someone to come out for an estimate, just someone I found on line whose website I liked--but I didn't find them until this morning so I guess I can't count this as a successful goal week. I did PEEP just about everything except in the 2 bedrooms, I even got back into my vacuuming schedule, so I'm happy about that. I'm also on track for going to bed at 10:30 tonight, I've been creeping towards that goal during the week.

I have too much to do, and not enough time, and then get distracted, and waste time doing unimportant things. I know I need to take time for ME, but I'm wasting valuable time on facebook, and other places, squandering my precious time away. I have today off from work. Some goals: Yard work: 1 hour Tidying up the bathrooms, the kitchen, entry: 15 minutes each School assignments: at least 2 hours today, and another 2 hours over the weekend Make vegan chili for chili cook-off: I have the black beans soaking. I will cook them tonight or tomorrow morning, then I will probably need about 1 hour of prep time tomorrow morning. There are lots of veggies to chop. Divide vitamins/supplements into daily pill case. I do 2 weeks at a time. This will probably take less than half an hour. Pay bills. I was going to do this last weekend and didn't. It's a must do this weekend: 30 minutes Write/Send letters to sponsored children. I need about 30 minutes for that too. Go for a walk today. Pack a lunch for a picnic tomorrow. I should go. It would do me good to get out in nature. Clean up dead and dying houseplants. I am a houseplant hoarder and usually have a green thumb, but have neglected my plants lately, and have many that are in bad shape: 30 minutes to an hour of work here. I have some that should be re-potted. I don't know if I'll get to that this weekend.

Walnuts are picked and its leaves are raked. I have hoovered all flat and dusted most of it.
Next week challenge: dust and hoover and mop on Saturday morning and contact the electrician again on Thursday if he did not call me first. Buy the conctrete mix to fix my attic floor.

Goals for last week got changed by me mid-week. With having a monthly and a yearly task each day, I just felt a bit overwhelmed. I had 2 areas being worked on, and it just never felt like the house was comfortable any more. It wasn't the work that overwhelmed me, but the feelings of chaos in too many places. So in the end I went back to the old zone system. I can work on ONE area each week, coming back each month and just doing what needs the most attention. This way all 'mess' is only in 1 spot. I made a new rotation, and the kitchen came up for this week, week 1, a normally short week. Because it had just been deep cleaned, I used that time to get several away from home errands done. As a result, many things on my goal list for last week did not get done, since I was concentrating on catching up on errands in different areas of the city. Also my lofty exercise goals did not happen. After Mon. waterfit I had some soreness in my left shoulder, or biceps. Plus I wanted to get several errands done, so in the end I just went Mon and Fri and found that that is enough right now, with adding more in the future, and doing walking routines on other days. The exercising with the water resistance, and sometimes using the pool noodles seems to be more strength training than I got using my hand weights, for now. In addition - on Sun. my shower stopped working - no flow. Previously it also had trouble (since moving in) where no matter how hot I had the temp setting, when I put the shower on , I got blasted with cold water. It was my personal goal to have this cold water addressed before my birthday, but it stopped working all together. Mon. the same. So Mon. I steam-cleaned the whole bathroom. And Tues I got repair requisitions - and made one out for that, plus a 2nd one re my entrance light that blows bulbs every 2 months, and is inconvenient because I can't even reach it - is there a problem with the wiring? On Wed the super called, and came up with 5 minutes notice. He changed the bulb in the light - we will monitor. He supposedly 'fixed' the bathroom shower - but it was only good for 1 more day. Next 2 days cold water again. (I will monitor over the weekend and request again on Mon. if it continues.) So here are my results: Goals for upcoming week, Oct 30 - Nov 5/ 16: Waterfit - 4 times 2 times Cardio exercise, with some strength training - 6 times (1 rest day) 3 times Continue on IBS diet, try rice milk bought, not yet tried Count calories, log into MFP daily Weeklies: maintain house, laundry, groceries - errands - when to fit in? did some Wed and Thurs ADD: friend B visited Thurs did 2 more errands after I drove her home Monthly - good scrub bird cage (plastic tray already done) - steam clean bathroom - damp mop LR and DR floors - change vac bags, Swiffer duster - decobweb through, dust lights kitchen only - clean windows, rads LR/DR - clean glass through - mirrors, cabinet fronts, pictures - dust lamps, shades, clean light switches - clean glass topped tables - sweep balcony, check locker - book car care Deep Cleaning - LR/ DR - tidy coat closet - prepare coats for winter - buttons, dry clean as needed - carpet fresh to LR area rug, vac well - good vac LR couch - good vac LR chairs - clean floors under couch and chairs - sort through Christmas decorations for donations - donate - rearrange locker, move patio cushions down - prepare balcony for winter - project LP

This coming week I move to Zone 2, which is now my LR and DR, coat closet, and balcony. I need to remember that I don't have to do everything, because I will come back to it every month, but something each day would be good. In theory, this is the prep in order to decorate next month. Most of my decorating is actually in the DR, since I put up table top trees on each side of the china cabinet. Here is a goal and a confession. MANY years ago I started recovering the seat cushions on my nice DR chairs. (I always hated the seat fabric, and over the years it's become worn, and actually torn.) In all that time I only recovered 1. The remaining fabric is still sitting here, waiting. I have wanted to complete this for a very long time. I have decided that THIS year they will be done by Christmas. But can I do them this week? ? 3 more chairs to go, plus 1 arm chair in my bedroom (The other arm chair got ruined with my son using it at his computer over the years - I decided before I moved that I couldn't fix it or have room for it here, so out it went.) My other main goal is to remove and clean the glass in the glass-topped tables 1 or 2 a day. This week is also my birthday week, so I want to take that day off and just do something I want. (No 'have to's') I need to start a crochet project. And, even though it's not in my zone, it's been in my plan since last Christmas, to go through a tote of stuff that I most likely will donate in Nov. And I will continue to get myself in better shape with this IBS diet, and waterfit exercises, plus some at-home cardio. Goals for upcoming week, Nov 6 - Nov 12/ 16: Waterfit - 2 times Cardio exercise - 3-4 times (1 rest day) Continue on IBS diet Use acacia fiber supplement twice a day Try at least 1 recipe from IBS cookbook Count calories, log into MFP daily Hair cut Weeklies: maintain house, laundry, groceries - take birthday off - monitor shower temp, was 'fixed' last week, but only lasted 1 day - request again on Mon if it continues blasting me with cold water. Zone: LR/ DR, coat closet, balcony - decobweb LR DR - remove glass from glass-topped tables and wash 1 2 3 - wash down wood DR table 1 and chairs 1 2 3 4 - recover DR chair seats 1 2 3 - vac floors under LR couch and chairs - damp mop LR and DR floors - dust lamps, shades, clean light switches LR/ DR - wash cut glass candle holders - tidy coat closet - prepare coats for winter - buttons, dry clean as needed - sort through Christmas decorations in locker for donations - donate - rearrange locker, move patio cushions down - prepare balcony for winter - book car care for next week

Get my living room neat & tidy. Clean off porch.
Edit: I've spent 30 minutes putting things away, finding a place to put things to go out to different people, straighting up the cushions, getting things in piles to go to different rooms, storage bldg., tool shed, etc. and it looks better already.
Edit #2: Thirty minutes on the porch makes it look a lot better. I've loaded 3 of dh's chairs in the truck to take to the farm. The bottoms are busted and need recanting and I still can't bear to get rid of them. Maybe someday.

The floor is fixed and I have contacted the electrician asking if he will manage to do it by Tuesday. He said sure. Did not say what Tuesday though. I plan to pester him tomorrow. I am sick of all the waiting.

Did not say what Tuesday though. Lucie, it looks like tradespeople are the same all over the globe! Very hard to get things done. This is a late post about a goal I've had this week, and that is keeping at maintenance (as far as clutter goes) during this busy week. So far I've been successful, but there are 5 more days to this work week for me so I'm stating this goal here. Diane

Well, I'm happy (and surprised) to say that I've kept the apartment at the level it was at when I started the week. I had less free time this week, but spent more time picking up after myself (or being aware that I was trying to keep things clean, so didn't make a mess in the first place) so actually did better. Of course, I'm waiting for the week to be over so that I can have some reading and relaxing time, but still--this shows me that I can be more aware of what I'm doing and not make so many messes.
So, a successful week. I will have to come back here and make another goal for next week. I will have a much slower work week so should be able to get something done.

I have just managed to hoover whole flat, fortunatelly I visited the aunt so it did not matter that I did not dust and mop. I did not feel well.
I am still in contact with the electrician. Today he should tell me the exact time when he comes. Maybe tomorrow, on Thursday latest. Tomorrow I also need to go and pay for the bed, which will be delivered tomorrow morning and we want to put it together before we go to visit my sister on Thursday for a long weekend. I also need to pack my luggage.

As per my norm, I changed my plans mid-week. My original plan was to do a lot of LR deep-cleaning, but I realized that I was stressing myself out, and I didn't want to push myself so hard, plus my apt seemed to be in a constant state of upheaval. I also had other things that I wanted to do, and was having trouble fitting them all in. Instead, I kind of went the opposite way and did very little inside. Mon. I didn't make it to waterfit - but I tried a new class on Tues. then went again Fri. My car was making a clunking noise that was getting worse, and I knew my tie rod was going bad, so I booked that in for Thurs, and it's done, plus I got my oil changed and my winter tires on. Wed was my birthday and I was going to go out and get my hair cut and buy myself something, until ds called and asked if he and dgs could come by around 4 PM - so I stayed home instead. I baked up some IBS safe brownies, and had to child-proof the LR DR and kitchen, since dgs is walking all over now!!!! Ds also put my coat rack together for me. It was a very nice visit. Then they took me out to dinner Sat. PM I also visited a health food store again to stock up on more staples that I need for this diet. I had a weight goal that I wanted to make by my birthday, that, considering how slowly I lose, was a good chance I wouldn't make it. I ended up 0.1 pound above my goal, so I was happy! It was a good week, just not a lot of posted goals met. Goals for upcoming week, Nov 6 - Nov 12/ 16: Waterfit - 2 times Cardio exercise - 3-4 times (1 rest day) only once Continue on IBS diet Use acacia fiber supplement twice a day it started to be a problem Try at least 1 recipe from IBS cookbook Count calories, log into MFP daily Hair cut Weeklies: maintain house, laundry, groceries - take birthday off - monitor shower temp, was 'fixed' last week, but only lasted 1 day improved - request again on Mon if it continues blasting me with cold water. N/N Zone: LR/ DR, coat closet, balcony - decobweb LR DR - remove glass from glass-topped tables and wash 1 2 3 - wash down wood DR table 1 and chairs 1 2 3 4 - recover DR chair seats 1 2 3 - vac floors under LR couch and chairs - damp mop LR and DR floors - dust lamps, shades, clean light switches LR/ DR - wash cut glass candle holders - tidy coat closet - prepare coats for winter - buttons, dry clean as needed - sort through Christmas decorations in locker for donations - donate - rearrange locker, move patio cushions down - prepare balcony for winter - book car care for next week and completed

I have done a lot of internet reading the past few days. First I found an index for a lot of IBS-safe recipes - hundreds, and I'm overwhelmed that I can make so many safe things, that sound good! Also I rediscovered a cleaning site called Clean Mama. I have looked at her stuff for years, but never paid enough attention to it to actually try it - although I keep going back to reading it. She seems to be on top of most things that I want to do, but only does them in about 15 minute segments a day, which is great. As part of her dailies she has decluttering for 15 minutes a day, she does most of her weeklies by task - 15 min a day, and then has a list of rotating tasks she does once a month. She has Fri as a catch-all day, to catch up on things, and she also gets in a few groceries then and pays bills. I'm wondering if I can get groceries after waterfit, or do I book on another day. That part I am still figuring out, as I don't like doing anything after waterfit - it seems to tire me out, and I do nothing more. However I do want to up it to 3 times a week now, so I'll see how that goes. (I am currently only doing 2 days. I read where to keep fit 3-5 times a week is good, to lose weight 5-7 times is good. G also seems to want me to go with her, even though her on-call schedule is totally unpredictable, but her best days, unless booked are M W and F, so I am going to try for that now. I'd still like to do walking routines on off days, and just found a 40 min one that I like.
So my goals for Nov 14 - 20/ 16
Waterfit - 3 times Cardio exercise (walking routine)- 3 times (1 rest day) Continue on IBS diet Work up dose of acacia fiber supplement Try at least 1 recipe from IBS cookbook or site Count calories, log into MFP daily Hair cut
Weeklies: - maintain house, laundry, groceries - do dishes at night - declutter something 15 min a day - work on using Clean Mama's plan, figuring out grocery day (catch-up day) etc
Deep Clean/ Rotating chores: 2/ wk, but I'm 2 weeks behind - dust ceilings and corners - spot clean walls - bedroom light fixtures - wipe down appliances - vacuum furniture - polish wood furniture
MY Extras: - clean glass from tables (1 a day?) 1 2 3 4 - drop off Christmas donations - buy a card and gift card - start buying Christmas gift for dgs - start crocheting blanket - bring in patio cushions - put in locker - start putting up Christmas village(s) - wash cut glass candle holders - tidy coat closet - prepare coats for winter - buttons, dry clean as needed

I realized I never did come back to say this week's goal--it is to get the needed cleaning/decluttering in the LR done by the end of the week so that I can put my Christmas decorations up this weekend. The cleaning consists of dusting furniture and books in the bookshelves, and polishing the wooden mantel. Decluttering consists of getting the "in progress" stuff out of the room--there is one area where I have miscellaneous book boxes and bags, I have the box of cable equipment still sitting here because I have to bring it to a UPS store to get rid of it, and there are a few other odds and ends. Plus, I want to neaten up the desks so they don't look messy. It's really not that much, but it's the kind of thing I won't get to unless I make it an actual plan. The first 3 days of the week were still a little busy, but starting today I have a chunk of free time every day through Saturday, so my challenge is to get the pre-decorating cleaning done.
