Starting tomorrow, I am going to work on the inside of the house, since this week has been an outside week preparing for cold weather.
The living room will be first, since it is horribly messy again.

LR is clean! Well, as clean as it needs to be to put decorations up, which was my goal.
Ima, do you decorate inside for Christmas?

Well I certainly 'bombed' on last week's challenge. I had a bad week physically, most likely related to diet. I think the acacia fiber supplement I was trying back-fired on me, creating many stomach issues that I am still trying to overcome. So obviously I stopped it, started re-evaluating diet, but in the meantime some activities got cancelled because of it, and I was exhausted most of the week, so many things requiring energy just got omitted. So I am kind of back to square 1. So I only made it to 1 waterfit class, and got no exercising at home done, until Sat PM (last night). Then all of this backfired on my cleaning plans. I was then getting a bit overwhelmed with all of the to dos on my list. Both routine and Christmas prep. I discovered that the 'declutter' on her daily list was really a general tidy I think - including dealing with mail, etc, more maintenance than deep cleaning. I am going to change that now to 'Tidy' to not confuse myself - . And I was torn on whether to deep clean or prepare for Christmas IF I had the energy to do either. So my conclusion became to do my weekly cleaning by room right now, pre-Christmas, and with each room, add in '1 extra thing', which most likely will be Christmas-related at this point. Also while it would be nice to get Christmas stuff up, the actual preliminaries are in moving around furniture etc to accommodate the decorating. And silly things like it would be easier to put up the wreath in the LR and DR windows first, before I set up the village under it! So right now I have just started with that moving around. So my goals for Nov 14 - 20/ 16 Waterfit - 3 times Cardio exercise (walking routine)- 3 times (1 rest day) Continue on IBS diet Work up dose of acacia fiber supplement then stopped it Try at least 1 recipe from IBS cookbook or site banana bread Count calories, log into MFP daily Hair cut Weeklies: - maintain house, laundry, groceries - do dishes at night - declutter something 15 min a day - work on using Clean Mama's plan, figuring out grocery day (catch-up day) etc no energy to accomplish much, and then changed up routine until Christmas prep is done Deep Clean/ Rotating chores: 2/ wk, but I'm 2 weeks behind - dust ceilings and corners - spot clean walls - bedroom light fixtures - wipe down appliances - vacuum furniture - polish wood furniture MY Extras: - clean glass from tables (1 a day?) 1 2 3 4 - drop off Christmas donations - buy a card and gift card - start buying Christmas gift for dgs - start crocheting blanket - bring in patio cushions - put in locker - start putting up Christmas village(s) - wash cut glass candle holders - tidy coat closet - prepare coats for winter - buttons, dry clean as needed

My goals this week will be to get myself back on track, after having a bad week last week. I need to lessen my expectations until I feel better and get myself back on track.
It would be lovely to have everything set up for Christmas, but in reality there is a lot of preliminary stuff that needs to happen first, and my plan is to work on it 1 room a day, just preparing for decorating by moving things about as needed.
So my goals for Nov 20 - 27/ 16
Waterfit - 2 times Cardio exercise (walking routine)- 2-4 times (at least 1 rest day) Monitor diet and how I feel Count calories, log into MFP daily
Weeklies: - maintain house, laundry, groceries - do dishes at night - work on cleaning 1 room a day, adding in something extra each day, for Christmas preps
MY Extras/ Christmas preps: - visit out of town cousins Sun., to see if I want any memorabilia from 2 aunts and grandmother, as they clean out the house. - take them token Christmas gifts - plan with B about going out to celebrate our birthdays (in Nov.) - start crocheting blanket - hang wreaths in LR and DR windows - move around furniture in DR and bedroom and maybe hall pre-decorating - prepare coats for winter - buttons, dry clean as needed - plan cemetery visit, to change over winter headstone saddles - plan Ikea visit with son, see if I want to buy a new LR area rug - move LR area rug to bedroom - clean glass from tables 1 2 (other table will be covered with 'snow' and Christmas village - so will leave until I take them down) - bring in patio cushions - put in locker - start putting up Christmas village(s) - move 'extra' knickknacks to spare room, until after Christmas - monitor noise in car
Deep Clean/ Rotating chores: 2/ wk, but I'm now 3 weeks behind, although I found several of these repeat monthly (marked M), so I may leave them until Dec if I can't fit them in., most important are marked *) - dust ceilings and corners * - spot clean walls * - bedroom light fixtures * - wipe down appliances M - vacuum furniture M - polish wood furniture M

LR is clean! Well, as clean as it needs to be to put decorations up, which was my goal. Ima, do you decorate inside for Christmas? Diane I haven't done too much since dh passed away, but since I cleaned out my 6'tall bookcase for the carpenter that never showed, I'm putting up my Christmas village on it this year, maybe today. My favorite skinny prelit Christmas tree bit the dust 4 years ago. I threw it away and have never replaced it 'cause I can't find one I like. I have a metal one that has a pole in the middle and a spiral rod circling it. I put that up with all gold ornaments last year. Lights on that thing are impossible, but it was pretty. I need a 3' tree to go in the center of my coffee table. I have a very large wreath to go on the porch, but I may leave the grapevine wreath up this year instead since it has red berries and a few red flowers and glitter fruit. I think I will get my Christmas dishes and glasses out this year Dec. 1 and use them the rest of the month. They are Ten Strawberry Street with a red rocking horse in front of a Christmas tree. Appropriate since I collect rocking horses. Now I'm off to wash the dishes, clear the table and battle the spiders in their many many webs.

I'm putting up my Christmas village on it this year,
I LOVE Christmas villages! I think it will look beautiful on a bookcase.
This week's goal is getting back to a more reasonable sleep schedule. By the end of the week, I would like to have worked myself down to getting into bed at 10:30, instead of midnight, which I have tended towards.

Unwrapped all the buildings, people, trees, etc. and now I can't find the glitter sprinkled white felt that I put over the shelves to hide the books that make hills and the wires. Arrrgh!
I've packed down fabric and antique notions that I won't use or need for a while along with some scrapbook items and the giant tub isn't full yet.

I went to Wally world at 8 this morning to get the felt and put the Christmas village on the top two shelves. The rest of the shelves need sorting out but it is coming together. I don't have everything plugged in, but at least it is in place.

I still need to do 3 loads of laundry once this is dry and I will meet my second friend on Saturday.

I have so much to do and so little time!
I have a paper due for school. I have known about this for months. I have articles that I printed up. I usually do not procrastinate with things like this, but work has been busier than normal, I'm coming home exhausted, and it seems like ever time I turn around at home, an unexpected problem turns up. Last week my husband matter-of-factly told me that he unplugged the UV water purification light because it was buzzing. I was like, "You did what?!?!". One of these days I need to run bleach through our plumbing, drain the system, clean and replace all of the filters, clean the UV unit out, replace the bulb... it's a big project. It takes a lot of planning (how do you clean things when you have no running water) and several hours of time that I just don't have. Maybe I should just pour a little bleach down the well until I have time for this project. (Yes, I am the "handyman" in our house.)
I have volunteered to bring a few dishes to my sister's house for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I need to work on preparing these dishes later today or early tomorrow morning.
I have a huge list of other to-do's. The kitchen is a mess Piles of mail and junk are accumulating everywhere I'm passionate about watching and feeding the birds and taking care of houseplants. Both need tending to, and both bring me joy.
Maybe I do too much.

Ally, how are you doing on your paper? I hope you're able to have time for the birds and the plants, I also love both those things and I know how much joy they can give. Right now my houseplants are confined to 2 small windows in the spare room because I can close it off to my cats--if I didn't have cats, I would have plants overflowing every room!

All of my plans seem to continuously change, so even getting some of my weekly challenge stuff done is a real challenge. Last Sun. I went out to meet my cousins at their parents' home (both now deceased) to see if there was any momentoes I wanted. I doubted there would be much, but I was going more out of respect for my aunt and the stuff probably there from her twin who passed many years ago. Unexpectedly, there was many Christmas village items that no-one else wanted. Just the days before I had developed an interest in expanding the little set-up I already owned. Well I came home with 4 boxes of items. That evolved into a plan to unpack and wash up 1 box per day - and then to display them in my china cabinet this year, since I may need them to be child-proof this year. In other words that totally turned my week around. In addition, I realized that since last Christmas I had basically reversed some of my LR things - like couch and tables, and fireplace console that holds the TV etc - so now there wasn't room to put things were they had been, and no plugs where they might fit - so I had to rethink my whole set-up. A lot centered around my Christmas music - and where to place the record player. To be able to even have it I had to rethink my 2 tabletop trees - and now I have decided to keep it on 1side of the china cabinet, and then purchased a 5' skinny tree to go on the other side. So both of these figured into lack of progress on most tasks. I also decided to assign 2 project days per week, instead of a continuous mess all week long, and so I made up a list of 52 projects to carry me through the year - with Christmas plans as the focus for now. What that did was give me direction - so I wasn't trying to do Everything at once, and drive myself crazy. I decided the focus for this week just past was the village(s), and hanging wreaths and garlands, and getting out the Christmas linens. Once the village items got washed, I needed to get stuff like snow to put them in the china cabinet, so that got delayed - but I did empty the china cabinet. So my goals for Nov 20 - 27/ 16 Waterfit - 2 times went 3 times Cardio exercise (walking routine)- 2-4 times (at least 1 rest day) Monitor diet and how I feel Count calories, log into MFP daily Weeklies: - maintain house, laundry, groceries only partly - do dishes at night but some nights I washed up the village stuff so it could dry overnight - work on cleaning 1 room a day, adding in something extra each day, for Christmas preps plans changed MY Extras/ Christmas preps: - visit out of town cousins Sun., to see if I want any memorabilia from 2 aunts and grandmother, as they clean out the house. - take them token Christmas gifts - plan with B about going out to celebrate our birthdays (in Nov.) - start crocheting blanket - hang wreaths in LR and DR windows - move around furniture in DR and bedroom and maybe hall pre-decorating - prepare coats for winter - buttons, dry clean as needed - plan cemetery visit, to change over winter headstone saddles - plan Ikea visit with son, see if I want to buy a new LR area rug - move LR area rug to bedroom - clean glass from tables 1 2 (other table will be covered with 'snow' and Christmas village - so will leave until I take them down) - bring in patio cushions - put in locker - start putting up Christmas village(s) - move 'extra' knickknacks to spare room, until after Christmas - monitor noise in car had it checked out at garage last Mon Deep Clean/ Rotating chores: 2/ wk, but I'm now 3 weeks behind, although I found several of these repeat monthly (marked M), so I may leave them until Dec if I can't fit them in., most important are marked *) - dust ceilings and corners * - spot clean walls * - bedroom light fixtures * - wipe down appliances M - vacuum furniture M - polish wood furniture M

As mentioned above, I have now decided on a plan for projects, for 52 weeks. So this week coming I have new projects related to Christmas decorating - but I still need to finish last week's projects, mainly the Christmas village(s). Yesterday I bought everything for their placement in the china cabinet, so that is ready to go today - once I put in a backdrop and 'snow'. I brought up some pieces of Styrofoam, from packaging, that I hope to make use of in creating levels. I am undecided on where to put the village I already had - DR console table or bedroom? I may wait until the tree is up before I decide if that DR area is now too 'busy'. (No room in LR for tree, but it's viewable from most LR seats.)
There is a strong chance that I might be hosting Christmas dinner here, so I need to discuss that with people - also realizing that whatever I do may need to be removed for baby-proofing for an active 1 yr old dgs. But that also ups the incentive to recover my yucky DR chairs. But since this is a 1 time occurrence, it's not on the project list, so ideally if I can do 1 or 2 a week I'd be good, but I also need to work on my crocheting - NOW!)
I also discovered that the center where G and I mostly go for waterfit will be closing for 2 weeks starting Dec 5. Since it and the one nearest me are the only ones in town offering afternoon waterfit classes, I'd like to see if I can figure out how to get myself in a position to do AM classes, and maybe try out different centers, so I hope to try out another one kind of near me this week. G likes the ones up in the upper level of the city, even out of town, since she lives up there. But now I live in the lower city, and over the winter I'd like to not have to go up, since the road most convenient for me I wont use in the winter. (I was concentrating my times so I could accompany her if she was off. However twice in the last 10 days she has done other tasks while off on our normal days (M and F). She is a busy lady and I don't begrudge her doing other things - but I'm not going to go where I don't want to be now just in case she decides to show up. Now I DO love the pool where we go, especially working with the Fri instructor, but some times its just way too crowded, not to mention harder to get to for winter.
So my goals for Nov 27 - Dec 3/ 16
Waterfit - 3 times? - try out a morning class at a different center Cardio exercise (walking routine)- 2-4 times (at least 1 rest day)
Weeklies: - maintain house, laundry, groceries - do dishes at night - get through weekly cleaning list
MY Extras/ Christmas preps: THIS WEEK'S PROJECTS: Set up tree in DR Decorate balcony Decorate kitchen Make plans to go out to cemetery to change to winter headstone saddle ALSO: Start crocheting blanket Recover 1-2 DR chairs Discuss Christmas plans with family See if ds will go with me to Ikea to see/ possibly purchase new area rug for LR Move LR area rug to bedroom Wash glass from LR side tables, and from fireplace/TV console shelves See if B is going to contact me re going out to celebrate our Nov. birthdays Switch seasonal clothes in closets Sew buttons on winter jacket, dry clean jacket Bring in patio cushions and put in locker once Christmas items are removed
CATCH UP: Prepare china cabinet for village pieces Put 'new' pieces in china cabinet Put out 'old' village - where? Where will I set up nativity? Finish putting out Christmas linens
Deep Clean/ Rotating chores for Nov: - spot clean walls * - bedroom light fixtures *
