It's Saturday morning and I've had a nice lie-in and read the news/emails etc. Now it's time to get cracking! I've had a busy week, so my "done" list is cobbled together from the last few days. Done: Opened/recycled new post when I walked in the door every day Put away a small amount of my last load of washing up Put bin out for collection and brought it back in that evening Put rubbish generated of an evening into a rubbish bin rather than dumping it on the settee or floor Packed some food everyday for my library session To do: Get dressed and presentable to go out Go to library and do a few hours work Go to supermarket and do some grocery shopping Put grocery shopping away Clear draining board/put washing up away Do a load of washing up Do a load of laundry I know that's quite a bit and it may be overly-optimistic, but I do find a "To do" list quite helpful as it sets me a target for the day. I also don't feel too bad if I don't achieve everything and I can use the list to remind myself of things I need to remember to do the next day. Each to their own

Done: --went through two boxes of candle-making supplies, and tossed about half the stuff - stuff that in the past I never would have considered releasing. --tossed more cans of really old food - not merely just past the expiration date. A true waste, but no one would ever have wanted to eat it.
I also came across a couple boxes of old home-canned fruits. I'm going to have to open those and toss the contents. They are not rotten per se, just too old. I do want to keep the jars however, though I do think my canning days are over. Not today however.

Wow, BetsyMarie you've really got loads done so far this weekend - great work! My To Do list is the one I wrote last night. However, I realised that I had a "spare" set of batteries in a remote control that I don't need any more, so I don't need to go out to buy any more today. I realised last night that I am completely exhausted and that I won't function for the next (very busy) two weeks if I don't have a bit of a rest day today. So, no heading to the library today - but I still need to get through some stuff here at home.

Thanks, Minerva. You're getting a lot done too. It sounds as if a day for some rest for you is called for. Setting up a good pace over time, including essential breaks, is essential. I'm having a repair man in tomorrow, so for me, today, is a bit of a forced march. The 'public' rooms are not really presentable, but much better than a month ago. But with some shifting around of things, I think I can make a big difference in the next 24 hours. I would prefer to not do things this way (hurried cleaning and stashing things), but for one day I will. And it will make a pleasant visual difference for me over time too, so that's OK. Fortunately the kitchen is looking almost there. Done: -stowed dirty dishes and dishpans into their cupboard -put rinsed quart jars into their box -fed cats To do: -gather waste cans to go out -gather recycling -move unsorted boxes to another room

Done: -took compost bucket to back door -scooped and topped off litter boxes -moved and consolidated about a dozen boxes to a better room for later sorting. How nice to have that much free space in another area.
This is going to make a significant visual difference.
ToDo: -more of the same -hot cuppa

Good morning, early birds. I got up very early this morning, just after 4:00 AM, and helped get DH and DS off to fishing. Hopefully there will be some fresh salmon for eating and canning later this week.
Done: Cleared dining room table of paperwork. I did stash one file box and files to be put in a second box in the front entry closet, but it is organized and ready to go into secondary storage.
Filed current papers and now have an orderly filing system ready for maintenance! My focus this week will be to ensure paperwork doesn't start collecting in the usual "hotspots" to quote Flylady.
Grocery shopping late yesterday so that it is done for much of the upcoming week.
To Do: One-hour house clean. Doesn't have to be perfect, just a s/s in the bathrooms, vacuum and mop the kitchen floor.
Plan timing for Sunday roast to cook and prepare rest of dinner so there is no stress; looking forward to having a good afternoon with son, DIL, and g-kids coming over later this afternoon.
Take a nap so I will be energized for a good time with family.
