I've laid the cabinet pieces out in the floor and put part of the bolts in. It's been a couple of months since I put the other two together and it feels like I've never seen this layout before. I'm resting my dizzy head for a few minutes and then will get back to it.

I hate it when I think I've got it together and then have to take it apart because I missed getting two bolts in the right place. Taking another breather.

I'm really aggravated! There are no shelf clips in the package and no small nails to put the back on with and more screws than I'll ever need. There's no handle either or bolts to put it on with. I have no desire to drive 100 miles to complain about something that the sales people probably can't do a thing about. I was looking forward to setting this cabinet up this afternoon and putting some things away. It looks like a trip to the hardware store tomorrow.

Ima, I'm so sorry about the cabinet, how frustrating! Especially since the trip to get rid of the other furniture was so hard. I hope your daughter appreciates that you brought it to her!
If you email the company they might send you what you need, but it will take a few days. I'm sure you're afraid to buy the second cabinet now, too.

Diane, I just tried to email the manufacturer, but as soon as I submitted the email I got an error message and cannot return to their page. I think I've got enough little nails somewhere to put the back on so maybe all I will have to buy is a handle and the bolts to put it on and yes, you are right, I'm really antsy about buying the second one (actually the forth one since the two in my sewing/laundry room are the same thing).
I'm going to look for some little nails and fix something to eat.

Ima, I am sorry you have such a trouble with the cabinet. Now I see how lucky I was to have my packages complete! Since I am feeling better and am at home anyway, I have managed to put up the wall hangers in my hallway. I just guessed the posotion of the attachments, so the thing can not be screwwed tight on the wall, but it is holding there and is good enough until my dad comes in April to fix it. I really should learn how to use my electrical screw driver! This morning I was brave and called the tax office. The lady was really nice and told me to come in person on Wednesday morning. This tax should be done in January and I am glad they do not charge late fees for the first week of February, since I have been on a sick leave for most of this month. clear out the kitchen for the new flooring clear out the hallway and bathroom for the new flooring put everything back in place go to the office re homeowner tax - made a phone call unpack the last box - the family documents

It did, Ima! I went to the office this morning, a nice lady helped me to fill the form and I left it there. One day later than it should had been done, but it should be OK. clear out the kitchen for the new flooring clear out the hallway and bathroom for the new flooring put everything back in place go to the office re homeowner tax - made a phone call unpack the last box - the family documents I am done with everything I had to do for this challenge and now I just need to make new appointments for those I had to cancel in January because I was ill. I also want to concentrate on new cleaning routines at home.

Hello sidestep!
Ima, how did the improvised hardware work?
Lucie, I'm glad you're finally feeling better, and here we are with a month to go in the challenge and you did what you set out to do.
I've been working in my 2nd BR for at least a little bit every day, and it looks like a completely different room than it did a month ago. I still have to organize the trade books that I'm keeping, that's a big job--there are two boxes of books to go through that I had intended to sell, and a couple of boxes of miscellaneous paper and other stuff that I think I looked for during the June purge, but they were buried under books so I couldn't find them....
I also have a few little projects that I've set aside--like a box of writing utensils to check out and mostly get rid of, and a little box of sewing supplies that was supposed to be handy for when I needed a needle and thread, but which--again--I couldn't get to when I needed it. In fact, I don't like the box it's in so I'm going to maybe buy a very small tool box to use for that purpose instead.
I'm happy with the way this project is going and I think I'll be able to finish completely by the end of February. Within the next couple of days I should have the last of the paperwork for taxes so I can start the rest of that job.
How is everyone else doing at the half way mark?
Diane

The improvised hardware worked great. I was glad I thought to measure between the holes of the cabinet and I took the hardware list so I had the exact measurement of the screws that went into the handle. I also took a shelf clip so I could match the hole size. That was a good thing too, since the first clips I picked out were too big, the screws that came with the handle were too long and the first handle I picked out was too small. I hope to get the cabinet into it's final resting place tomorrow, put the door on and fill it up. One more cabinet to go and I will finish this challenge. I'm almost 3/4 of the way done and still have the rest of February to go.

Today I bought the other cabinet for the bedroom and have all the parts in the house, most laid out on the floor. Tomorrow I will put this one together and hopefully clear out my bedroom floor of piles.

My challenge is done! I rarely finish a challenge, so I'm proud of this one. I finished putting the last cabinet together and putting it in place. Now I can work on the bedroom floor and I still have most of February to go. I'm going to put on some music and work in there for a while since I'm so inspired.
