dtesposito - re these orthotics, they were custom-made from a mold they made from my feet. I doubt if they would hurt me, because they were made for my feet only. That is why they were so expensive. I have bought some Dr Scholls ones before and used them. I liked them but I guess they weren't enough to help, thus the hip pain. And I could tell my legs/ knees were not in proper alignment before I got them.

I am back here because I really need to start preparing my garden for the winter. There is so much autumn work there and guess what I did instead - read a book. So since I will have this weekend free I want to do something - mowing, trimming, cutting, digging, just anything.

Monday Sept 18/ 17 - Sun Sept 24/ 17
I guess I didn't set new goals at the end of last week, when my whole focus had to change. I did get out to buy jeans - ended up with 3 pair, but now I need some ankle boots or something to go with skinny jeans, that I first avoided, then liked and got 2 pair. (And I got a new light-weight down-filled jacket.) In addition I finally got the upper kitchen cabinets back together. All except the plastic dishes - they need more assessment. I still need to put stuff back in the lower kitchen cabinets - and assess too whether I actually use this stuff much (most of it is food.) I have not seen 1 ant in the kitchen since the pest guy was here - but lots in the bathroom, still. I'm holding off returning bathroom things until I don't see any any more.
Today I take delivery of my new rocker recliner, but I have no idea where I will put it. In my blog I covered various aspects of my thinking, and related obstacles, but it boils down to reassessing functions of LR, bedroom and spare room, and moving around various pieces of furniture and exercise equipment. I'm thinking that that might take up most of my week.
So this week's goals are: Put plasticware back in kitchen cupboards Put food items back in kitchen cupboards Assess what is not used regularly - set aside to donate? Bring up donation box(es) from locker Assess use of bedroom, and move items accordingly (desk? Pilates reformer?) Assess use of spare room and move items accordingly (2 spare bird cages, gateleg table, chairs?) Assess use of LR and move items accordingly (chairs, where to overwinter plants, will birds stay in here fulltime?) Use Pilates Reformer if I get a good set-up Start crocheting blanket

i didn't do much work on my list last week, found out quilt camp started last Thurs - on WED - set-up day! i had a hard week, brain-wise. felt in a thick brain fog; locked only set of car keys in car (thankfully i have AAA) and felt like i was swimming through molasses. i pulled out a lot of fabric to "audition" for camp and projects i wanted to work on. other priorities have taken precedent but i will still post the long list to remind myself. still no inspection notice; but since i trashed the apartment again i am having to dig back out. dtesposito, i did not opt for the nuclear cat scan so my doc is pissed and won't return my calls. i have a compromised immune system and very bad candida and my chiro was worried my body couldn't take all that radiation. i asked for ultrasound or MRI but i guess i am on my own now. feeling discouraged but i modified my diet a bit and whatever it was seems to have calmed down, at least for now. great job, everyone, on all tasks accomplished, big and small! my garden figures in on this week's must-do list. i've decided to use poison on some of the canada thistle. got instructions to cut and paint on the poison and now of course the rainy season has begun. darn! i also have social obligations as well, and chiropractic and p-doc appointments and an art show to make stuff for, and a messy piled dirty apartment, and some other things that have moved to the forefront of needing doing.. here's a repeat list; some things got done and some got messed up much worse. i may just give up on long lists - my mind rarely tracks them very well. i'll try it again this week and see what i can tick from the list. Monday 9/11 through Sunday 9/17 goals:LR:reduce big pile on LR floor reduce pile on LR table. sewing mach. can stay. computer desk - clear again and again and again defend the loveseat! (it's getting cluttered again kitchen: ongoing tasks such as - floor clearing sm counter clearing and wiping sink bowl and surround put away clean dishes, wash dirties clean old food out of fridge and freezer (did some last night) dishes - catch up bedroom:reduce big pile on bedroom floor entry:get everything off floor(not too bad) clear off hot spot on top of shelf unit with art supplies, books, and shoes - it's piled with many other things bathroom:clean toilet, inside and out clean around toilet and under rolling drawer cart (dust bunnies!) clean sink clean overhead fan - a dreadful time-consuming task i have NEVER done since the remodel in 2012! shower and tub - clean all floors:broom- sweep traffic areas spot clean any linoleum floors that need it balconies:sweep deadhead plants and keep watered - ongoing til frostclear any clutter from front balcony that impedes foot traffic other/extra:1 hr paperwork, my choice 3 hrs in lg storage unit, making space - tasks can include breaking stuff for mosaic and gathering more stuff for next mini sale. (i hope to be able to mosaic in there soon!, even with the piles and hoard!) garden - start gaining on the thistles again! harvest - deal with food i am harvesting - which will mess up the apt maybe harvest basil again and make tiny batch of pesto keep gathering ideas and materials toward October halloween show at bank so i'm ready to work the last half of the month - ETA: quilt camp was a week earlier than i thought! i got started on several projects for the show. was nice to have room to create!

Hi creativechaos . Your post is a good reminder that despite all of our wishes, 'life happens', and we just go with the flow. The good thing is that you did not give up. I'm going to make a suggestion - and it's only a suggestion, since you are re-evaluating your list. I would probably put this list on a 'brain dump' list. A big list of things I want to do. If you tend to lose lists, it might be good to put it on your computer, or sometimes I email myself things like that and put them in an email file I call 'hollyhock's notes'. Your posted list is really too long to accomplish in 1 week. But then I would take the 'top 3' things from your brain dump list and make that your weekly challenge. The top 3 could be things with deadlines, or of most importance to you. Or my suggestion would be to make 3 categories, and chose 1 task from each. Looking at your list, 3 possible categories could be 1) Apartment 2) Gardens and/or storage unit and 3) Show Prep. Maybe once the show is over, you can make #2 into 2 categories, and then when gardening season is over you could have the apartment, the storage unit, and then add in an extra task from either, or make #3 for 'self care' which could include anything related to health, or leisure time etc. But slowly you would work through your posted list, but take the pressure off of yourself. Good luck! Edit: Or you could make Paperwork #3.

I peeked in on this week's list and noted I had done most of it. It was a busy couple of days. Here's my update: Put plasticware back in kitchen cupboards Put food items back in kitchen cupboards Assess what is not used regularly - set aside to donate? Bring up donation box(es) from locker Assess use of bedroom , and move items accordingly (desk? Pilates reformer? ) Assess use of spare room and move items accordingly (2 spare bird cages (1 only), gateleg table , chairs ?) Assess use of LR and move items accordingly (chairs , where to overwinter plants , will birds stay in here fulltime (YES)?) Use Pilates Reformer if I get a good set-up Start crocheting blanket So what is left is: Start crocheting blanket - now that all of these extras are done, I hope to (finally) start this weekend. My new rocker recliner seems like a great place to work from Use Pilates Reformer - it's finally in a good spot and ready to go! Bring up donation boxes from locker - locker is a mess. I took down an empty tote to store some seasonal baking items, but I just had to put it on top of everything. Tossed 1 of the bird cages, that I had been using as an extra landing spot for the birds if they decided to come out for a fly, which they haven't. (I kept the better cage of the 2). Removed base of cage from locker too. But didn't get in to sort things to find a box yet. Re-organizing locker may be on next week's list.

Report re last week's goals: I got off track last week. I got hung up in a new-to-me theory called Energy Profiling, related to how a person uses their energy (inward or outward aka introvert or extrovert) but the creator Carol Tuttle, discovered that there are 4 energy types and that they seem to mostly follow certain traits, including facial features, how we move, how we think or handle situations, and that the parts of our being that have usually been held as a flaw since childhood (too noisy, too bossy, too shy, too quiet, too serious, etc) is often our best gift, but we are all conditioned to try to hide that, and thus our personalities adapted to who we aren't. And part of her theory is that each of the 4 types have certain colours, textures, etc that they can wear to bring out their best nature. So I have been watching and rewatching videos - plus took her on-line test (Wearing Your Truth) to try to figure myself out. I waivered back and forth most of the week, but in the end figured I am a Type 4, with a strong Type 2 secondary. Anyhow, that took up most of my week - but it was also very enlightening for me. I had felt lost lately and like a no-body - and this put me back on the right track. For a while I thought I was a type 2. I removed ALL of Type 1 and Type 3 clothing from my closets, because I am definitely not them. I tried to make a capsule out of Type 2 clothes and wore them for 1 or 2 days. I even went shopping and tried on Type 2 stuff - and I felt dull and draggy and tired wearing them and in the store I'd put on something Type 2, and then a Type 4, and there was a world of difference. So then I realized my Type 4 is the dominant one. I have dressed Type 4 for 2 days now, and I feel so much better. (My goal had been to wear Type 2 stuff for at least 10 days, and I couldn't.) Thus I moved all type 2 stuff into my bedroom, then took it out again - and now my bedroom closet is ONLY type 4 - although a few colours I am still a bit iffy on. But as you can imagine that took up most of my week - but for me it was all time well spent. In addition 4 days this past week we had record-breaking high temps for this time of year, so it was also too hot to work on windows, on the balcony or even in the locker room I think. I did make it to the locker room on Friday (?) and a bit of balcony stuff Sat. It was also way too hot in here to do some exercising. Note that as of Sept 15 city bylaws require the heat to be on in apts - so not only was it hot, but the heat was on too, and almost impossible to cool down. These are my goals for last week. LOCKER: Rearrange Take down seasonal baking stuff to store in empty tote Check storage closet for additional stuff for locker Bring up fall wreath and table centerpiece Assess any cemetery saddles down there - keep or toss? keep and put both out next spring for parents and grandparents Bring up box for donations NO - on hold BALCONY: Empty/ toss pots of petunias tossed 2 of 5 pots to go Empty urns of soil Deadhead geraniums Sweep LR/ DR Wash inside windows Bring out fall décor - hang needlepoint pictures, assess tablecloths, and stuff from locker Work with new reclining chair (mechanism to lower footrest) Toss chair box? Damp mop floor PERSONAL: Use Pilates Performer at least twice Start crocheting blanket finally started Sat. PM Reassess clothes as per latest blog post (re Wearing Your Truth - my clothes (colours) are ALL wrong) Visit second hand store for new colours? Yes and No. Visited a clothing store that had a sale plus I had coupons for from previous purchases. Bought several items in Type 4 colours, and saved double what I spent.

After working on myself for this 'Wearing Your Truth' theory, I saw also HOW I think - and areas where I have had difficulties in the past, so am working trying to change my thoughts going forward because now I know that no-one else thinks like me, and so what I get upset about might only be their own nature coming through, instead of anyone being right or wrong. I am saying that mainly because this next weekend is our Canadian Thanksgiving, and where I usually want to know where and how etc, and I get so upset with anyone's lack of plans or informing me, and feeling left out etc, and then put upon because I get told last minute what's going on, that I just need to chill and go with the flow. And with this knowledge I have revamped my own routines in order to work around these issues. One being to change my grocery day to Saturdays instead of mid-week etc. I also decided to make 2 days (Mon and Tues) as project days, Wed as a chill day that my Type 4 needs - and that will be errands or paperwork (may alternate weeks), and then Thurs and Fri I clean my apt - and I've decided that each of the weeks will have a cleaning focus. This being the first week of the month, my cleaning focus will be Mega-tidying. Taking a really good look around, to see wat is out of place and get it out. Although this mostly should be Thurs and Fri, this week it might be more, since I'm still finishing up past tasks - like moving clothes around, I found another hanging shoe bag of shoes, and its 3 weeks after the ant bait was put down, I've seen none for about 5 days, and so mid-week I can clean up those areas and return stuff to under the sinks in bathroom and kitchen - that stuff is all currently in the spare room. I do not want to add to the spare room mess yet re collecting extra stuff for donations, until this other is looked after. And, since each week will have a cleaning focus, where 1 task gets an extra attention, that no longer is part of projects. Projects can then be seasonal things, or personal things, or lastly going through drawers etc - so no longer dependednt on zones - more related to time of the year, and I'll probably work on a list for that. ( - note that as a Type 4, we tend to be perfectionists, and so tend to attempt to perfect our lists or anything we plan, so this is true to that nature.) So my goals for the coming week: Sun Oct 1 - Sat Oct 7/ 17: PROJECTS: LOCKER: Take down seasonal baking stuff from storage closet BALCONY: Toss remaining pots of petunias, pansies, dead hydrangea Empty urns of soil Deadhead geraniums Sweep LR/ DR Wash inside windows Finish putting out fall décor Work with new reclining chair (mechanism to lower footrest) Toss chair box? POST ANT BAIT WORK: KITCHEN: Wash areas of counter top lips and under sink where bait was put down Put down new liner? Return under-sink items BATHROOM: Wash areas of counter top lips and under sink where bait was put down Put down old, washed liner Return under-sink items THANKSGIVING: Prepare as needed ERRANDS: Hair cut? Visit cemetery? Buy new shelf liner for under kitchen sink CLEANING: Week 1: EXTRA FOCUS: MEGA-TIDY: LR/ DR, Entrance Kitchen Hall Bedroom Spare Room Bathroom PERSONAL: Exercise daily Use Pilates Performer at least twice Work daily on crocheting blanket Consider making list of projects for entire year

Thanks everyone, I will get a list together. I am new here and I feel a little emotional finding people like me. I am trying not to be online for long as I have kids waiting downstairs. Today I will be grocery shopping and buying pumpkins.

I hoovered at home and did some more garden work. This week I need to take all plants from the garden back home, temperatures are dropping too low at night and I need to prepare space where new kitchen counters can be put when they arrive on Saturday.
