Since it's Monday morning, I will update my past weekly goals.
I did finally sew one pair of jeans, and adjust them a little several days later. They still don't fit right, so will need further tinkering--but at least they're wearable.
I also cleaned out the shoe bin in my DR just this past week.
I still have not cleaned out the bottom half of the entryway closet, so I will keep that as this week's goal. Unfortunately, closet cleaning doesn't always lend itself to baby steps--in this case, everything has to be pulled out of the floor of the closet at the same time since I think most everything will stay in there, it just has to be put back in a neat way. But there are 6 days left to the week, so I should be able to finish this!

Firstly, my outcome of last week's goals. I spent another week assessing and reassessing My Wearing Your Truth type, because I still felt unsettled. After reviewing many videos and articles, I concluded that I was wrong - I am a Type 2, Secondary Type 4. I am sure this time, so can now really move forward. But a lot of that took up much time in my week, including a visit to a second hand store, more research, and finally yesterday sorting out my clothing again, so that there is only Type 2 stuff in my bedroom closet. And because I had so much confusion, items gathered in other searches, and purchases, like scarves, purses, makeup, jewelry etc just got dumped into the spare room, to be dealt with after the clothing and colours were sorted out. So that room did not become part of the MEGA-tidy. I also delayed my haircut, since I need to figure it out more as a Type 2. In the meantime I made up a project list for the year, giving a new project or two for each week, Which resulted in this past week's changing. The balcony got delayed. Although Sun. when high winds were predicted, and I moved some stuff around, I bagged up the dead plants, and they have now gone. The new project was the DR table and chairs. So they all got a good wipe down - AND the last chair in the DR needing recovering was finally done!!!!! (That alone was a 2 day job. 1 chair left, but it's in my bedroom.) The ant bait areas then got delayed for at least another week too. Sun. I went for a hike with ds and dgs and then they came here and ds took out my ac unit and put it in my LR coat closet. Both removing the ac units and the floor of the coat closet were on this upcoming week's list, so those are done as well. Everything else on my list is either delayed, or postponed until the 'proper' week. The outcome: Goals for the week: Sun Oct 1 - Sat Oct 7/ 17: PROJECTS: LOCKER: (postponed) Take down seasonal baking stuff from storage closet BALCONY: (delayed to Oct Week 3) Toss remaining pots of petunias, pansies, dead hydrangea Empty urns of soil Deadhead geraniums Sweep LR/ DR Wash inside windows (delayed to Oct wk 4) Finish putting out fall décor Work with new reclining chair (mechanism to lower footrest) Toss chair box? POST ANT BAIT WORK: (Postponed) KITCHEN: Wash areas of counter top lips and under sink where bait was put down Put down new liner? Return under-sink items BATHROOM: Wash areas of counter top lips and under sink where bait was put down Put down old, washed liner Return under-sink items THANKSGIVING: Prepare as needed ADD: Cooked simple stuff for myself PLANS: Restaurant Thanksgiving Day with ddils family (today) ERRANDS: Hair cut? (Postponed) Visit cemetery? (Postponed - did fall hike with ds and dgs instead) Buy new shelf liner for under kitchen sink CLEANING: Week 1: EXTRA FOCUS: MEGA-TIDY: LR/ DR, Entrance Kitchen Hall Bedroom Spare Room Bathroom PERSONAL: Exercise daily Use Pilates Performer at least twice Work daily on crocheting blanket some days Consider making list of projects for entire year

Since last week ended up being a mish-mash of mixed-up tasks, I need to continue getting more back on track this week. I had started with a newer weekly routine giving various days different focuses, and I think it will work out, once I get the extra things hanging over my head in order too. Those include finishing this Type 2 sort, of the extras like accessories, and makeup. I still have the ant bait areas of the kitchen and bathroom to do - and I think that instead of making them additional projects, I will move this week's cleaning focus up, and make this week a 'scrub' week and handle those on the cleaning days. That makes the most sense. So for this month I am swapping week 2 and week 4. I've already done part of this week's project - re the ac unit. The other part was cleaning the china cabinet. However, after doing the 1 DR chair last week, I didn't put away the tools etc completely, because I want to finally - after years!!!! - complete the last chair, which is in my bedroom. Swapping out the weekly cleaning focuses opened up that window more. I'm still planning to do more than normal, but at least this spreads it out better.
So my goals for the coming week: Mon Oct 9 - Sat Oct 14/ 17:
PROJECTS: (Mon & Tues) DR: China Cabinet - clean outside - wash 3 shelves 1 2 3 - clean out 2 drawers 1 2 A/C unit (already taken out) - wipe down EXTRA PROJECT: - recover last DR chair (currently in bedroom)
LEFTOVERS: LOCKER: Take down seasonal baking stuff from storage closet LR/ DR: Toss chair box?
PAPERWORK (Wed) - move new project list into bullet journal - print out project list for binder - gather printed papers on Types - sort - discard Type 4 colour info - pay bills
CLEANING: (Thurs & Fri) Focus for the week: Extra scrubbing: POST ANT BAIT WORK: KITCHEN: Wash areas of counter top lips and under sink where bait was put down Put down new liner Return under-sink items Clean microwave Wipe down small appliances BATHROOM: Wash areas of counter top lips and under sink where bait was put down Put down old, washed liner Return under-sink items Clean shower walls
THANKSGIVING: Dinner out Mon
ERRANDS: Hair cut? Visit cemetery?
LEFTOVER from Last Week: CLEANING: Week 1: EXTRA FOCUS: MEGA-TIDY: Spare Room - sort out scarves, hats, purses, shoes, makeup, nail polish and some jewelry re Types - put away accordingly
PERSONAL: Exercise daily Work daily on crocheting blanket

Hopefully I am now back on track more. I think I am going to eliminate my 'project days' and go back to my usual cleaning, a task per day. It seemed like last week projects took center-stage and then I was always trying to catch up with the cleaning, a bit still not done, so I can't really let it influence any decisions, however I may want to get more into my days in the future, especially craft time - and not have to chose whether to do a project or my craft.
I did revise my project list, by week, but in the end it only changed slightly, so I am going to keep this one. I basically still do 1 room or area a month, but cleaning is always difficult in summer so I have taken June July and August and made them into sorting out stored items, like craft supplies, or books, etc, the lighter stuff. So now I can complete that part of my projects too.
So this week ahead is to work on the plant areas. Due to heavy winds and cooler temps I ended up bringing in all of my geraniums. They all need a good dead-heading though, so this is a perfect project for now, and the other is getting the balcony ready for winter, bringing in the rest of the stuff. I'm now making projects as week long chores, so I can slowly putter away at this. I still have a couple of things to catch up from last week's list, so hopefully they will get caught up as the week progresses too.
So my goals for the coming week: Sun Oct 15 - Sat Oct 21/ 17:
PROJECTS: OCTOBER, WK 3: DR, plant areas, bring plants in, put balcony away: - deadhead potted geraniums on coffee table in front of LR window - deadhead plants on DR console table - shake out table cloth on coffee table - good vac of plant areas - empty soil from 2 urns on balcony - stack in corner - empty 3 pots of portulaca (?) - bring in and wash up 2 folding Bakers racks - decide where to store for winter - move (8) patio cushions to locker - sweep balcony - cover exercise bike out there - stack patio furniture for winter - bring in garden tools and move to tote in locker - wash up plant window boxes, plant saucers and extras from balcony, and put away
LEFTOVERS: LOCKER: Take down seasonal baking stuff from storage closet LR/ DR: Toss chair box? Take 2 recently emptied totes to locker
PAPERWORK - move new project list into bullet journal - put copy of project list in binder - trial new weekly paperwork plan, doing 1 paperwork task each day
CLEANING: Extra scrubbing: POST ANT BAIT WORK: KITCHEN: Wash areas of counter top lips and under sink where bait was put down
PERSONAL: Exercise daily Work daily on crocheting blanket Trial 1 set of makeup and nail polish for week 1 appt
FUTURE ERRANDS: Hair cut? Visit cemetery? Visit garage and discuss winter tires for new car Get new plate sticker

WTG hollyhock, dtesposito, and lucie on accomplishing so much on your goals! after a couple of crazy weeks and missing this thread and the people here who Get Things Done, i would like to get back on the challenge wagon. i did get some things done in the midst of kitty's abscess and mainland trip, inspection, and digging dahlias. since my week starts on Monday, here are a baker's dozen things i'd like to do (brain dump) - many of these will carry over to end of October and beyond. 1) chip away at the pile in LR corner - in progress; ongoing for awhile.2) take a few boxes of donations to thrift store - 3) start working on regularly sorting and reducing stuff in storage unit again - seems to be a constant revolving door of stuff but not much progress. 4) keep up on maintenance of stuff i did to get ready for inspection - there is a lot more to do but i want to defend what i did! 5) start working on other piled surfaces in the apartment to reduce the piles 6) start thinking about making 2018 calendars and what pictures to choose 6a) talk to ppl at office supply to see if they still want to make my calendars for partial trade. reassess how i will do them, if not. 7) start 2016 income taxes. missed the deadline again but they've had my money since April, so it's ok 8) take clothes to consignment (October is an intake month) - took 1 bag of clothes to consignment, donated one bag and some sheets someplace else9) sort thru Halloween stuff; trash/ donate/consign what i don't want. 10) decorate for halloween? (minimally) 11) switch-out from summer to fall shoes - try to reduce some of my shoe excess - summer shoes packed and ready to go to storage12) something creative; quilting, crafting, or painting 13) hoardy car filled with things i took out of the apartment for inspection: start taking out of the car - some to storage (dahlia tubers and sleeping bag), some back to apt. and to storage for sorting, some to thrift. have done some of this.

Last week's project was mainly the balcony. Most is in, cleaned, and ready for winter. But a few things still do remain - mainly related to storage - in the locker. The locker itself needs a good tidying, and then I can put the gardening stuff in that tote, and finally bring down the patio cushions. I have a few Christmas things down there, so I need those in the front too. So those tasks are moving on to the new list, but should be able to do in an hour or so.
The main project this week is the windows in the LR and DR, and the rads beneath them. I also have a few errands that need attention in the next 2-3 weeks, so I'd like to get some of those done too.
So my goals for this week, Sun Oct 22 - Sat Oct 28/ 17:
PROJECTS: OCTOBER, WK 4: DR and LR, windows and rads - wipe down 4 large window blinds - wash windows 1 2 3 4 - wash rads below windows: DR LR
LEFTOVER PROJECTS: BALCONY AND LOCKER: - move (8) patio cushions to locker - move cleaned garden tools and window boxes to tote in locker - take down seasonal baking pans and cookie tins from storage closet to locker - may now leave up some pans - tidy locker LR/ DR: Toss chair box? PAPERWORK - put copy of project list in binder POST ANT BAIT WORK: KITCHEN: Wash areas of counter top lips and under sink where bait was put down
PERSONAL: Exercise daily Work daily on crocheting blanket Try new nail polish each week
FUTURE ERRANDS: Hair cut? Visit cemetery? Visit garage and discuss winter tires for new car Get new plate sticker

Here are my results from last week's challenge goals: Sun Oct 22 - Sat Oct 28/ 17: PROJECTS: OCTOBER, WK 4: DR and LR, windows and rads - wipe down 4 large window blinds - wash windows 1 2 3 4 - wash rads below windows: DR LR LEFTOVER PROJECTS: BALCONY AND LOCKER: - move (8) patio cushions to locker - move cleaned garden tools and window boxes to tote in locker - take down seasonal baking pans and cookie tins from storage closet to locker - may now leave up some pans DELAYED this until after Christmas - tidy locker LR/ DR: Toss chair box? PAPERWORK - put copy of project list in binder POST ANT BAIT WORK: KITCHEN: Wash areas of counter top lips and under sink where bait was put down PERSONAL: Exercise daily 4 out of 7 days Work daily on crocheting blanket 1 out of 7 days Try new nail polish each week FUTURE ERRANDS: Hair cut? Visit cemetery? Visit garage and discuss winter tires for new car Get new plate sticker I'm pretty happy with the results. I had to get the locker in better shape - moved Christmas totes to front - before I could move down my patio cushions. I got them all down the next day, and then was able to dismantle the box from my new rocker recliner and got it out from in front of the DR window. I had stored 4 of the 8 patio cushions in it temporarily. It took 3 trips down to the outside recycling bins to get the box all down. And then I had room to work on the wall-to-wall windows and rads in the LR/ DR. In addition I finally got the ant bait off of the lip of the kitchen counter - which entailed removing everything off of the countertop to reach it. And I finally got my hair cut. All other errands need to be done in the next 1-2 weeks.
