Several presents left my home (and I got some too) and I did all errands I wanted, apart from buying t-shirts. I did try, but the shop was closed on the alfternoon I went there.
This week I want to finish wrapping the christmas presents, there are only few left to do.

I made a new ticker for this thread for 2018 but added in the last 2 weeks of 2017 too.
I would like to try something different for this thread this year. Instead of having a one time item that I want to do during the week, I would like to try to aim for things that I would like to do every day that week. But knowing I won't do things every day, my goal will just be to do it as many days of the week as I can. When I first heard of the weekly goal idea from Chris I liked the idea of doing something for only one week--since anything seems possible for only a week. I thought it would be nice to try different things that I think I should be doing, but that realistically can't do all the time. So that's what I'd like to get back to.
For the first week, since it's the week before Christmas, I'd like to take the time to communicate well with someone every day--current people like my sister and one friend that I call often, but also getting in touch with other people that I haven't heard from in a long time.
I'll report back at the end of the week to see how I did.

I did not do well on last week's goals. By Sun AM I was sick with a cold, and it stayed the whole week. I felt really drained, and every area of my body seemed affected. I wasn't in bed, but close enough to it that very little got done. I cancelled my neighbor coming over Sun afternoon, although I left some treats at her door and phoned her that they were there. I did not go out again until Sat. Ds dgs and I went out to the cemetery. Mid-week I noticed that as long as I kept up on a few basics, the main one actually being vac'ing around the bird cage (before the mess got tracked into other areas of my apt) the place stayed pretty good. The next most important was trying to keep up on dishes. So it became a reality check for me too in that I realized that the extent of weekly cleaning that I was doing was really more than I needed, so I went back to a 10 day plan. So as usual things got changed mid-week. I also felt ill enough - and 'yucky' enough - that I did NO crocheting. And I did not have the energy to exercise either. (I did lose a tiny bit of wt, only from being sick, nothing more.) So very little of my list got done. In addition, after much much self-analyzing, I finally came to the conclusion that I really am a DYT Type 2, despite insisting that I'm a Type 4. I accepted the fact that I have been in denial on it, so any tasks related to Type 4 - such as dry-cleaning Type 4 jackets - was put on hold. Results of goals for Sunday December 10 - Saturday December 16, 2017: EXTRAS for this WEEK: Pay bills due - pay bills - record Quicken, Budget Book - file - file other papers Ironing/ dry cleaning (for me this includes clothing preps) Wrap Christmas gifts File paperwork / receipts LEFTOVER: Wipe down bathroom cabinets/ drawers Dust/ wipe down all front of apt blinds OMM: PROJECTS: Plan pre-Christmas cemetery visit PREVIOUS PROJECTS: Make Christmas cakes Get out Christmas music Christmas shop (for myself) Buy amaryllis Sew button on red pea coat ON HOLD Take red pea coat and 1 jacket to dry cleaners ON HOLD Sew 2 buttons on blue pea jacket - resew 4 loose buttons ON HOLD Sort out jewelry in vanity drawers Sort makeup in vanity drawers Finish reorganizing bedroom closet again Have elderly neighbor M in for tea and cookies? (was cancelled due to cold) Exercise at least 6 days ON HOLD Crochet on blanket every day 1 day only ADD: Get a 2017 Christmas picture ornament for dgs

So now we are on to the last full week before Christmas. I really really want to finish crocheting this blanket for dgs. I do have other stuff for him if it doesn't get done, but it is my priority this week. As I was finally feeling up to doing a bit of cleaning last PM, I decided that the blanket and the rest of Christmas tasks are now the priorities, and anything else, such as sorting papers or sorting makeup or re-arranging closets will be on hold until the Christmas preps are completed. (BTW I was so thankful that I was ahead enough on cleaning and decorating and shopping that losing this week past did not have a huge impact on any Christmas preps. But now its a matter of priority.) I still have 1, possibly 2 days needed for Groceries and Errands. In revising my weekly plan into a 10 day plan, I have 2 of those built into the 10 days. My thoughts are that if for some reason I cannot do what is on the 10 day rotation for that day, I will switch it out for the day before or after. I am doing that this weekend, so that I can do errands Monday instead of Sunday - and Monday's chores were done on Sat.
So MY Goals for the Week of Sunday December 17 - Saturday December 23/ 17 are:
OMM: PROJECTS: THIS WEEK: Crochet on blanket every day Finish Christmas shopping Make chex mix Relax and enjoy the season
PREVIOUS PROJECTS: Make Christmas cakes Buy amaryllis Rebook elderly neighbor M in for tea and cookies Get a 2017 Christmas picture ornament for dgs Wrap Christmas gifts Find Christmas towels (maybe - are they in a tote in the locker?) Sort out Type 2 jewelry in vanity drawers - put others in shoe box ON HOLD Sort Type 2 makeup in vanity drawers - put others in shoe box ON HOLD Finish reorganizing bedroom closet with Type 2 clothes - set up outfits or clusters? ON HOLD

This upcoming week (Sun - Sat) not only includes Christmas, but also is the last week of the year, so preps for year end stuff and New Years. In addition, last week my car battery died, and when CAA came they recommended I replace it, it's holding very little charge right now. Since my new car has a mini-battery, I had my garage order 1 in for me, and I'm booked to get it installed on Wed AM. Hopefully the old one keeps going until then.
So my goals for Sunday December 24 - Saturday December 30/ 17
CHRISTMAS PLANS: Make chex mix Rebook elderly neighbor M in for tea and cookies (?) Wrap Christmas gifts Buy hostess gift Find out when and where Christmas meal will be
FUTURE: Get new battery for car - to be installed Wed Dec 27/17 Finish crocheting blanket for dgs
REMAINDER OF WEEK: Plan New Years Nibbles - what time is good for the kids (around dgs' nap) - plan food items - shop - prepare Prepare paper files for new year – shred or long-term file old papers (2016) in file cube Set up budget book and bullet journals for new year - buy new notebooks

Roadrunner, you should be on Christmas break by now, I hope you're enjoying it.
Lucie--and you should be at your parents'? I hope you're enjoying that too!
Hollyhock, this was not a good time to get sick, I'm glad you're feeling better. And not a good time for a dead battery either, although I guess the coldest part of winter might be worse?
I think I did pretty well with my communication goal for the week, this was a good time for it because my sister needed extra time on the phone with me, her husband will be in a rehab hospital for the next month, getting antibiotics for a severe infection, and she's always nervous in the house when she's alone. So I've talked to her for at least a short time every day, and I sent emails to some people I haven't heard from in a very long time. I also wrote a long snail-mail letter to the person I send cards to for the volunteer program I belong to, usually we just send greeting cards with short notes inside.
My goal for next week is going to be to get my reminder/list software up to date, and give a fair try to using it for my "mid-importance" tasks. I use both a paper planner and this reminder program, and technically, the program should work for more than I'm using it for. I prefer a paper planner for urgent things--the few items that are time-sensitive that I must do that day. But lately I've only been using the program for things I might do at some point, because when I get busier I neglect reading and evaluating the lists. What I'd really like to do is develop the habit of doing a sort of the lists every single day, that would allow me to put more things on those lists and at least keep them in my mind even though I might not have time to do them. For some reason it feels like a time-consuming task to me, but in reality I think it would take less than 10 minutes a day--seems like a small price to pay to be more organized and less forgetful.
So my goal is to spend an entire week using this program the way I would most like to use it, to give it a fair try.

lucie WTG getting Christmas Ready enjoy your time with your family. Sorry you have been sick hollyhock I hope this week will be much better for you. I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas day and WTG getting ready for the new year. dtesposito Woot Woot for communication this week. Goal of using reminder/list software this week sound perfect for getting ready for the new year. I still use paper as well. Nothing like handwritten list and notes. I am enjoying my time focus has been on Christmas up to this point, but now that it is the day after I can move forward. Last Week Christmas Spirit
Well I did not really get any more decorating done...I opted to just enjoy the time and not be so busy doing stuff. I never started my Christmas Shopping until Friday, and actually I started and finished on Friday. (Except for a few incidentals I had bought throughout the year) It was a very nice shopping day and I was please with my purchases and saving. It has been a difficult to be total in the Spirit as DS (on Friday) defied our rules and his punishment was to take his car for 2 weeks. While his car (just an inexpensive beater car) was part of his Christmas Present. So that put a huge damper on things. But we have to be parents even at Christmas Time. Home LifeThe house was Christmas ready and cleaned. Doodle Goes to CollegeNo progress in this area. Financial Awareness No progress in this area.
What about me?No progress in this area Goals for weekend December 30, 2017 --- Yikes next weeks goals with start 2018 -- Where has the time gone. TBA after some brain dumping.
