Good morning ohblondie, thanks for starting the thread. Overtime...I'm sorry you have to go in on Saturday, but I'm happy if you're getting paid extra for this overtime and you're glad about it! I feel anxious this morning because I've been exchanging emails with the only other board member who actually does work, but it's the financial work. And, this is my last light day until Friday, so I feel I have to make exactly the right decisions about how to use my time today. I will use my 10 second Zen meditations today and do the best I can. Scoop litter pans Make bed Pigeon care Eat breakfast Diane

Last night I unloaded the dishwasher and reloaded it and ran it. I cooked crockpot dinners this week and cooked in two crockpots. Today I will be focused on getting the counters cleared off and cleaned up.
(I went in for OT and worker 1 1/2 hrs)
I also need to focus on my room. My clothes piles and other piles are getting quite precarious and starting to topple. I ordered hanger hooks to that I can hang hangers on hangers and free up space in my closet. That will be tonight and tomorrow.
I also have to run left over corned beef to my parents.
OK - off to work I go.

Good luck with your clothing project ohblondie. Be ruthless!
I didn't even get my last list done, my decluttering client called. So now I have to stop and get ready for mid-day work. I have my regular senior client work, and then an extra dog walk. Then right after I come home I have dog visitors for about an hour. After that I'm free for the rest of the day.
Next:
Get dog walk bag ready to go Cat feeding Brush teeth

Procrastination week is turning into catch-up weekend for chores.. Its evening now, Some catch up washing up done More seeds potted up Things don't visibly look too different though.... But there is one plus for the day that pleases me... I've been looking through what electrics I can use or discard,,, and one more gadget has hit the bin,, it's never been used, and doesn't work effectively.... I've also sorted out the scart leads and remotes for the two videos and DVD recorders.. the idea is I will watch the vids and disks I have, and decide what to keep to watch later, or to discard.
I looked at the price ticket on one of the video sets, though I bought it second hand, the original price was £30 way back in 1996! At the same time I was listening to articles on sunk-costs and the perceived value of things. ..... it was a reminder to me, again, that the value of something is not what it seems. That £30item is financially only pennies now,, its worth more for the tape as a string substitute in fact... but for the moment it has some value as a reminder of evenings as a child with family in front of the TV together. Hopefully I will allow myself to sample it, and then let it go.
Time for a bit more washing up, and hopefully a decent bedtime.

Hi everyone. Glad it is Saturday I got up and got ready. Took dd to an activity. Then I went to a memorial service. I went in honor of my parents who would have gone if they were alive. I talked to an old neighbor from my childhood days. I am glad I went. Then I picked up dd. Came home and did the dishes from breakfast . It has snowed so much that I dug a pathway for my garbage bin. It was snowed in and stuck and I have to bring to curb tomorrow. Also dug little path for my cats. Decided to set timer for 20 minutes for housework. Cleaned cat eating area. Washed the mat their dishes go on washed all dishes. Cleaned up my kitchen. Swept floor Mopped floor Emptied all the house trash cans and took garbage out to bin. Now dd and I are headed out for some shopping and errands I have my lent challenge. Which clothing that I don't wear and doesn't fit do I part with ? . Why would that be a hard decision???

notanotherdecade -- it is so true about sunk costs and how we perceive the value of "stuff". I have 2 bags of purse type things, backpacks, etc. and I am having such a time letting go of them even though I don't use them because of what I once paid..... But truly there is not room in my space for things I don't use. So, this just to say I understand how it is!!!!! Diane -- you do a lot of work on coordinating repairs for the building!!! I wonder if all residents understood the alternate cost of having to hire management -- if that would motivate them. If only they knew it would cost them $100 (example) more a month if the work is not sufficiently pooled among residents? A letter or something? Well, of course I don't fully understand the system but I can see you are doing a disproportionate amount of the work. It is a bother that some are sublet so those folks just need to pay the rent no worries. But their rent would also eventually increase if management was needed I imagine. ohblondie -- I hope your overtime work day goes/went smoothly and that the money is good!!!!! magda -- we cross posted -- congratulations on so much accomplished!!!!! I hope the shopping and errands go smoothly!

Hi everyone!
Lots of good stuff happening here today. I slept in most of the morning. I've been sick and I'm still not 100%. Last night I had to leave work because I thought I was going to puke and I was up most of the night. I'm headed back to work in a short about of time. I'm going to try for just 10 minutes of cleaning before I get ready for work. That shouldn't be too hard, right?

Happy Saturday to all Mine is going pretty well! DONE: * letter to Mom * letter to friend in NY * bill mailed out paid off plane ticket off my credit card * YWCA to swim * showered there at the Y * took out recycling * cleaned cat area and put food, water * lunch here at home * read a spiritual paper my sufi teacher wrote and shared with us via email * organized books (this seems to have to be daily!!! Later we have dog care to go and do for our 2 dog nephews . They are 2 labs one chocolate and one black, 5 years the older one and 8 months the younger one! I am dressed in my old jeans and will try to go over there hands free. The younger one is W-I-L-D and I don't see him enough to make much headway with training him not to jump but I do work on it everytime I go! Next is call Mom, after that is crochet my green pouches & get supper, then go to take care of the dogs. There is a big 16th birthday party for a niece tonight out of town and my SIL is going to cater the rice and beans and enjoy the party -- the thing is is is over 150 people and neither my husband or me can stand that big a crowd on top of it being night time driving back over an hour drive. So, everyone is happy since we can take care of the dogs and we sent the birthday girl a pretty card with money. She will be busy dancing with the boys anyway tonite. I'll pop back on later if I get a chance.

shellsncheese -- I hope you feel a lot better now! 10 minutes of cleaning is perfect as it seems we get the most critical done first when we set an increment like that! Hope it goes well!!!!!

Hi decade! Yes, technology sure does change over the years--I was thinking the other day about the first microwave I had--not only was it expensive, it was GIGANTIC. Hi magda and shells! Chris, 150 people for a 16th birthday? If this niece ever gets married how many people will she invite to her wedding? The dogs have come and gone--the nervous one cried almost the entire time even though the second dog was here, so I felt bad for him. But, he survived! Now I will eat a sandwich and then do some work. Next: Eat lunch QUICK mop of bathroom floor Change cat water bowls to get rid of dog germs Clean up paper shopping bags from the movement of books downstairs Diane

While eating lunch I started the project I listed for the spring challenge, which was making a list of all the things the board dealt with in the last year. In doing so I went back to emails from last year. I can't believe I have so many emails to delete--I was keeping them under control for a while and now I'm back up into the thousands. This has to be a priority for me over the next month. For some reason it really annoys me when I have so many emails--even though they do not cause physical clutter.
