Scholar, I certainly hope you're sleeping by now!
Today my tooth is calmer than yesterday, but obviously still a problem. I decided as soon as I opened my eyes today that it would be foolish to go out shopping, when I could use the time off for going to the dentist, so I went online and made an appointment for noon today. I told my friend I'd call her at 8 and tell her what I decided. Before that I have to go do a dog walk, and since it's good to do it early, I'm going to leave in 10 minutes or so.
So that's the story. I have had several root canals, but I can't remember which teeth, so I don't know if this is one that I had done. I know that even in teeth with root canals there can still be problems. My concern is that the tooth underneath the crown will no longer support a crown, and at that point I don't know what I would do--I know for sure I can't afford an implant.
But, no sense worrying about that now. I guess when I come back from my dog walk I'll just take it easy until I have to leave for the appointment, I don't want to irritate anything more than necessary. Although when I get home I'll have to try to eat something.

Good morning, everyone. I'm still out of sorts. I slept very poorly last night because I had so much on my mind. There are major problems in my family, and I don't know what to do about them. I've tried talking about them, and I've tried yelling about them. Nothing changes. My kids are definitely being affected. I guess since there's nothing I can do about it, I should just stop complaining about it. Anyway, I got an early start to my day, so that's pretty nice.
Done: Breakfast for boys Showered Dressed to socks

Good morning ohblondie and Pamela! I hope your days go well.
I've just been puttering around doing little things that I can do at my desk.
I've now had 2 people offer me some houseplants, and one of those has also offered me a chair. I've been looking for a comfy chair for reading this summer, that I can put in the DR where the air conditioner is--I don't know if this one will fit though, I was told it's a large chair and hassock. I'm going to look at it, probably next week, since I have to deal with this tooth thing now.
That reminds me, since I have an appointment today, I have to cancel the one I made for tomorrow.

dtesposito hope you can get some relief for your tooth. to PerrinJade. mylittlescholar you're getting a lot done! I feel like it's been a productive morning, but I don't know how long my energy will hold out. By last night, I was bushed and ready to go to bed at 9:30, but my mother called. She has now learned to make phone calls from her room in the assisted living place! The call jangled my nerves, and I ended up still awake at midnight. I made use of the time, though. Whether she comes home or stays at the facility, I'll need to buy her a new, lower bed so she doesn't fall again trying to get into it. So last night I looked around online and found a bed frame, very shallow box spring and an inexpensive mattress on Amazon, of all places. The top of the mattress would come out to be 19 inches, which is a lot better than the 25 inch high set she currently has at home. The items get very good reviews, come in small packages so it wouldn't be hard to transport and set them up, and could be shipped very quickly. I also found a carpet installer that got good reviews on Angie's List and Consumer Checkbook. Again, no matter what happens we need to get the area rug out of her bedroom and replace it with wall-to-wall carpet (either to prevent a fall or sell the house). These folks can install in-stock carpet within a day or two. Done so far today: Made appointment with an elder law attorney (this specific lawyer was recommended by a relative) Scheduled a car maintenance/repair appointment Called to schedule gutter cleaning at my mother's house, but they couldn't give me an exact day they would come, just a range of days. I can't deal with that uncertainty right now, so I called back right away to cancel. Put in a load of towels, and some hand wash is in the sink Took a walk with DH Made my 2016 IRA contribution Set up a fresh paper recycling bag in my office area Coming up: Try again to pick up the file tote at Staples. The one I went to pick up yesterday was broken. Remember to take newspaper and my mother's handbag when I go to visit her tonight Make bank deposit for Mom Pay estimated federal taxes for Mom Figure out if I have to make a state estimated payment for her also Take a shower! Quicken entries at Mom's house and at home Catch up on dishes at Mom's house - they're still sitting there from Thursday, before she fell

Good morning everypony!
Diane I was posting on my blog so I wouldn't get "caught" still up. Which of course means I am dragging now. All last night's poor sleepers have my sympathy! But I did this to myself. Hopefully I've come out of la la land and I will do a better job of keeping up.
The house is "good enough." I basically need to hope in the shower and dash out the door. I plan to pick up a latte on the way. Hopefully it will be a fun day. I am taking my dramamine and bringing my wrist straps!

Hi everyone Diane hope your dental problem is solved today at your appt !!
Today I did the usual. Up and ready for work. Bed made healthy lunches packed. Cats fed and out and in. Out away dry dishes in dish drain. Dropped dd at school. Came to work
Work is in a busy season. This morning I had two pleasant meetings. Worked out at gym at lunch which is always a personal victory for me. Getting there is a challenge but I love how I feel afterwards
I made a list of 11 tasks to do this afternoon. I have plotted them against the afternoon hours left. I think I can get seven done if I really focus and apply myself.
So that is what I will do now!

Hello everyone! It's my day to drag things to the road for bulky trash pick up...they pick up bright and early tomorrow. My recycle bin is loaded to the brim. The weather report had it raining half a day and they were right . But now the sun is poking through and I have to get out there. I made good use of time by cleaning out a chifforobe that I would love to move into my bedroom and for it to be for my clothes. But, I'll have to figure that out later. I have come up with a lot of donations after cleaning this piece of furniture out. I'll just keep loading them into my van...but I'm running out of room.

Good afternoon everyone! I'm really tired, and I still have 2 more dog walks to do later on. Well, as I suspected, the news about my tooth isn't good, the small amount of tooth was cracked underneath the crown. So the dentist cemented it back on, but said there's so little left to hold the crown that it will not last long, hopefully several months, but maybe a matter of days. I guess the good news is that this tooth had a root canal in the past and there is no infection there, so I don't have to worry about the oral surgery that I had to have once for a bad infection. Of course, he suggested an implant, which I can't afford, unless I borrow the money from someone. It's a front tooth, so I have to figure out something. And of course, the same thing happened that I remember from other crown work--he tells me to bite down to make sure the crown isn't too high, it hits the other teeth, he adjusts it, and it feels okay. I get home and the novocaine starts wearing off, and now I feel the tooth hitting again. I'm hoping it's just still swollen now or something, because if the tooth keeps hitting my other teeth the crown will fall off sooner rather than later. The good part was that it was less money than I expected, considering that they took several xrays. And, I liked the dentist, and the support staff was really good. So, I will end up going back there, and they're a very short bus ride away. The novocaine is worn off now and there is only mild pain, most of it at the injection site on my gum. When I came home I sat and read for over an hour, then I had to go to a walk, which just about broke my heart. This was for a dog I've known for many years, I only walk him occasionally but I see him and his owner all the time in the neighborhood so we walk together often. A couple of months ago the dog was diagnosed with cancer, and he is declining rapidly. He's lost weight and slowed down, I don't think he'll be around much longer. So this is probably the last time I'll walk him, and I was pretty much in tears through the whole walk. Then on the way home I saw another dog in the neighborhood that I used to walk years ago--and her muzzle was all grey--they get old way, way too fast. I wish I could take a nap now but since I have two more walks in a little over an hour, I won't do that. I think I'll PEEP until it's time to go out again. Diane
