When i was doing the 2017 i thought i wouldn't join the 2018 as i might not have enough stuff🤣 so here i am. I include everything that comes in like junk mail cos it would be a disaster if i didn't get it out in regular intervals. Empty containers from the bathroom

Thought about joining this thread last year (I mean Dec. 31, 2017 ) and have decided that yes, I will give this a try too. Thanks mylittlescholar for starting off this challenge! Good luck with your 2018...really, good luck with that!
Okay, I have had a small box of kitchen things ready to donate since early December/17. They are in my van, waiting for the next drop off. So, I am going to count those things in...no dithering with myself. They count because they are still here right now. I'm not going to count the number of items though, but I'll lowball it at 10.
Hey, there's lots of us here...maybe we can trade off excesses as deadlines grow nearer !
I'm counting up for starters:
10 kitchen objects 2 books 1 pullover 1 ball cap
14 items so far.

Thanks, mynicehome !
Last night DF asked me if I had any magnetic photo albums. We use them to divert DB from tearing stuff up by having him put cards, etc. in them. So I started on that project. Not necessarily the most important, but one I need to deal with, because they are taking up a lot of room. They go back to 1986! I pulled lots of photos, etc. for DXH #1, but haven't mailed them yet, so won't count them until I do.
I also pulled more books to donate, this time to a different library. I wrote down the number at home, so will update tonight. When I mentioned this to my Action Partner this morning, she said she could take them to donate to the Veterans Home, which picks up, so I gave her two small boxes.
5 magnetic albums 3 magazines on organizing art studios for DM 1 workbook on last wishes for DPs 3 gift certificates for DPs 20 plastic hangers returning to DM 33 books
running total: 74 + 65 = 139 running goal: 6 x 112 = 672 running deficit: 672 - 139 = 533
I also pulled a large shoe rack and 20 kids coloring/sticker books and three dolls, but don't know where they are going yet.

Woo hoo, everypony! y'all are trotting right along!
I have a clipboard that I have been keeping track of things that are earmarked for leaving, are actually sorted and bagged up, and are out of the house. And I've been doing research on more places to donate, and I am most excited about the Project Smile, which gives stuffed animals to First Responders to give to kids they encounter in disasters, etc. Cause I have a HUGE collection of like new stuffies that need good homes.
Nothing went out today, but I do have some things from the day before.
2 vape kits w refills 1 glass vase 3 expired medications 1 small tin 1 small gift box 2 misc items a dozen stale seaweed snacks 2 organizing magazines, reread and recycled (really glad I reread one, found what turned out to be a VERY important article for me, because it had implications for a potential copyright conflict that I will now be able to avoid) (the other one was quite disappointing, until I realized that I had already torn out the interesting articles, !)
139 + 24 = 163 112 x 8 = 896 896 - 163 = 733

P.S. TwinkleToes my mom and I have the same tendency to hoard boxes and packing materials. Although with my folk's recent move and my upcoming one, they have come in handy. I hope I can ease some of the chaos in my folk's garage, especially now that their lease has been extended for another year--as of today, woot!--by using it up.
P.P.S. Today when I made an appointment to consign some more clothes next Friday, I learned that I have made over $70 from my last round. I also have over $300 waiting for me at a home goods consignment store.

I'm going to accumulate items together in one post, even if I didn't find them on the same day. Decided my guidelines will be items that I consider clutter and that will be either put into the trash, recycled or donated. I'll not count regular trash or regular recycling, but will include recycling from Christmas or birthdays, particularly boxes. No emails. Burr bushes will count (as might individual burrs, ).
14 items last tally.
1 frying pan into recycling 2 frying pans into donations 4 mason jars with lids into donations 2 Christmas boxes into recycling 2 Christmas dishes into donations
11 items this tally.
So, 25 items so far.

mynicehome I think individual burrs count! I'm going to be counting individual photographs, for example, because of the effort it took to deal with each one. Things that are too hard to count will be be grouped.
This practice is an interesting one, because it has shifted my thinking to: what can I get out of the house today? The extreme goal has definitely added some urgency to it, and kept me from putting thigs off. For example, tonight I tried out the self-service in the lobby of the post office after hours, something I have never done before. What freedom!
I took pictures of my large collection of silk flowers today and sent some to a friend who is going to ask if they can use them at her church (a boquet went missing at her mom's memorial service). I will take the other photos to the local consignment place tomorrow to see if they are interested.
I realized that my bras were uncomfortable since I lost weight, so I hauled out my "too small" stash and tried a bunch on. Decent ones were put aside to take to the bra donation collection bin at the consignment store on Friday.
3 bras to trash 1 angel figurine given to a woman who described her HP as a "flock of angels" and opened up a lot of space for me 1 treasured red rubber-bottomed mixing bowl given to a friend who lost her home in the fire. when I asked her last month what she needed, it was what she asked for. the timing was perfect, because she was really upset when I saw her tonight, because the land she was going to put her new trailer on fell through. I had been driving around with it in my trunk for days! 8 earrings (4 pairs) mailed to my cousin, who I learned likes big earrings at Christmas. Been waiting for her address.
163 + 13 = 176 112 x 9 = 1008 1008 - 176 = 832
