Puppybox, I have no idea if I'm misusing behavioral terminology, because I've never formally studied behaviorism. My knowledge of cat behavior comes from my years of animal shelter work, which not only involved working directly with feral cats, but also talking to the many people who called us with all sorts of cat problems or questions. Not to mention the once feral cats I've adopted myself, one of which is my current "younger cat", who has progressed to the point where he sleeps under the covers with me and taps me on the shoulder when he wants to cuddle. So yeah, I prejudge situations using my past experience, we all do, that's the way you figure out how to handle them. But we can surely disagree, disagreeing is not wrong, it would be a boring world if we were all the same.
And are you sure your ex-boyfriend even saw you? If he did, maybe he was thinking "gee, I don't look my best, as is always the case"...
I have finished dinner, and got distracted watching cable news, which I will probably do for another couple of hours tonight. I just started a small load of laundry, and I finished washing the one dishpan full of dishes, which is all I will get to today. I emptied the dishpan out and cleaned it, second time in a row, which I hope will become a new habit for me. Normally I would have loaded it up with more dishes and let it sit for the next 2 days.

Puppybox, I will continue to talk about animal behavior when it comes up, animals are one of the main things I talk about here. But I will make sure I don't address any of those posts to you in the future, hopefully that's a good compromise. My senior client just called me, asking why the greeting card she's writing out says to put extra postage on it. I said, it must be heavy and weight more than one ounce? She said no, it's light. So I asked if it was thick, like the ones that have a music-playing disk inside? No. Finally we figured out it was perfectly square--square envelopes require extra postage. She didn't like that so she's asking me why, it didn't make any sense, etc. etc.... I don't know!! Next time you're in the post office, ask them, and let me know what they said. I assume it has something to do with their sorting equipment, but I don't know what being square has to do with it. I found out the hard way about the extra postage when I bought square Christmas cards one year. Next: Feed parakeets Medicate cats Feed cats Diane

Next:
Move laundry to dryer Put phone away Email to friend who's sharing walks Another email to relief walker PEEP computer desk
I have to stay up another half hour or so until I can hang up the laundry. I'm happy with what I got done today, the only distractions were the phone calls, which I've decided to take in stride because I can't do much about them. Goal is to be in bed by 10:45.
How did our two vacation day people do? Ohblondie and TML? Did you get tons of snow? Enough to stay home tomorrow too??

I thought I posted last night but I guess I didn't as I don't see it. Can't remember what I said. Today is friday. I slept pretty well, my dream was a vivid one, I felt like I was living a lifetime movie!! Went to the gym and worked arms/upper back. I still need to work in some cardio. Sometime today I am clearing off my desk, again!!!

I'm here, Good morning I'm going to pull up the covers and call the bed made, Put away clean dishes, switch out laundry, fold load put away. I'm going to take a 5 minute shower ( the water is turned off most of the time I'm in there. The minutes are only when the water runs.) That will do for now.

Good morning ohblondie, another gym visit, I see! You could always get your cardio in by running up and down the stairs at work! (If you have stairs at work, that is...)
Good morning def, I hope you're still having cool enough weather to keep going on your garage project.
I slept later, as I've been doing, so I need to start working on an earlier schedule. I'm eating breakfast now, and then will decide which store I'm going to.
TO DO:
Finish breakfast Clean up from breakfast Scoop litter pans Pigeon care

Good morning everyone. We are headed to the doctor for DH. It is another sunny day here but still relatively dry air - expected to get humid soon.
DONE: * dressed & ready to go * breakfast * fed birds and squirrels * water for cats * bird bath water * ate my breakfast * printed out a helpful chart * packed my bag for waiting at the doctor
This morning I found that 2 more of the cats I had been observing in the neighborhood have clipped ears too - I do believe they are from the same litter as Willy. Willy has not yet come back but I am ready for him when he does. I value and respect all opinions (including my own) about cat behavior and care. I have had only one cat that I wasn't able to bring in cold turkey - that is Marble (she's in now!) I just worry so much about the multiple hazards & potential diseases in the neighborhood. It's hard not to fear that I waited too long to bring Willy inside but now he is neutered and all he has to do is show up. I told his brothers to please have him come see me. They won't come up to me at all but I got close enough to see their ears are now clipped. I have litter, food, toys, flea meds in the mail, blankets washed, a perch that used to be Tony's...and lots of love to give. Spring is a good time too ... the windows can be open and let in all the sounds and air.
Today is about the medical care for DH and later on I will continue with the de-cluttering of the dining room & starting on laundry and planning my pen video.

Good morning everypony!
The only time I could get in to see my hairdresser for a tweak was at 5:00 pm today, which meant that I did the 6:30 am gym class (!). I actually liked it, though it was cold! 35*F when I left the house. I'm going to meet with the owner tonight for my mandatory "check in," and talk to him about applying for the sales job. I really want to see this business succeed at the new location, and already have lots of ideas about marketing and need work, so why not?
puppybox I know logic is very important to you, so I hope you can just ignore the things that don't make sense and not let them bug you! I so enjoy your presence here.
chris I am so excited for you!
DustyD I love navy for spring. What other colors? Since I have new clothes, I'm going with what's in the stores, a new palate for me; bright peach, rose, sage, lavender, cornflower, off-white, and navy.

I'm going out there right now to work for 1 hour so I don't procrastinate all he has to do is show upChris, I sure hope he does show up today--interesting that the other kitties have clipped ears too, so someone caught the whole litter at once and had everything done. It's nice to know someone in your neighborhood is doing that! How are they getting in your yard with the new fence--are they going over it? Or do they come to the front of your house? I know you've taken in strays before, so I have faith that you'll know what to do. I always feel compelled to tell people that they might see behavior that they've never seen before, but that it'll most likely work out fine. At the shelter we used to tell the same thing to people who were adopting a second cat--to take the introduction slowly because they might see their first cat show aggression for the first time ever--it's upsetting to someone who's never seen their one sweet cat hiss or growl before! So we would warn them in advance and tell them it was NOT a sign that the 2 cats would never get along together. That's why I said I guess I'll always remain a shelter worker, even though I've decided I've had enough of the politics of actually working in one--I still always feel I have to share what I've learned. I hope your husband has a good doctor's appointment. I've decided I'm just going to the nearby grocery store even though it's expensive, because I just need a couple of things. It's near the library too, so I can exchange books, that way I won't be gone a really long time. When I go to the far away stores I never have energy left when I come home. Be back later! Diane

I did the 6:30 am gym class (!). Scholar was up and ready in time for a 6:30 class? Or...did you never go to sleep? Either way, good for you for going. Which business are you talking about that you'd like to work for--the hairdresser or the gym? Diane

Good morning - it's a slow one here. I was wide awake overnight and got up for awhile, not sure why. Now I'm really dragging. But I've had my shower, and I think this afternoon is going to be mostly errands.
To Do --Get gas in the car (Done) --Return a clothing item by mail, if DH has a box I can use* --Pick up salads for dinner --Pick up a clothing item that came in at a store (no shipping cost that way) --Check my mom's house to make sure it got shoveled and also that electric is on and heater is running. (Done) We saw on the news that a lot of houses in her county are without power. --Goodwill drop-off (Done)
*DH just told me he has some cartons stowed away somewhere. A few weeks back he told me about his plastic grocery bag stash. Apparently, it's a way to give himself hope that we'll eventually move from here to a nicer house. He wants to be ready to move all his books!
