I saw that. I wonder if it would need to be the right red match one's own energy type. For Diane, for example, I would definitely go with mauve! Me, I love the high energy red that comes from mixing yellow and magenta.
I just posted a collage of week one of my clothing capsule, which included that color, plus orange, magenta, purple, white and a little green. very high energy!
then I updated my insurance with my new cc. dinner will be served in a few.

I would definitely go with mauve!
Oh no, ick! If I had to have red, I would want a sort of cranberry or maroon. One of my scrub shirts has a logo on the sleeve that I can see when I look down and to the left. For WEEKS I kept seeing it out of the corner of my eye and having to look before I remembered there was a logo there--I kept thinking it was dirt or a bug or something. So a bright color would distract me so much I wouldn't be able to do any work at all.
I like deep, rich, greyed down colors. No bright neon colors, and definitely, no pastels. Ick.
Okay, I just spent way too much time making a detailed baby-step list for getting the living room to the way I would like it. It fills a whole page, but that's why I broke it down, they are baby steps.

Oh, and by the way, isn't it insulting for someone to think that everyone is exactly like them? Red makes them feel energetic, so everyone will feel energetic when they wear red?
Sorry, I just hate when people define what's "normal".
Carry on!

Interesting. For many years in the corporate world , Red was a power color for women. In fact during the state of the union addresses, when all of congress was being shown, nearly every women in congress was in bright red. Now I think a brighter blue is on vogue at those things. Maybe even white now.
So far Fed cats Put away clean dishes Drove DD to school Did some paperwork- I had to have my last energy bill ready for the audit which is Monday, so I looked for that. Found it. Also did some shredding and recycling Made bed
Next finish getting ready and go to work

magda..for a long time the power suit color was purple.....I loved that era! I remembered to bring my lunch to work - just scrambling for breakfast. I might have to run to the snack shop to get something.

Red was a power color for womenYeah, and why was it never a power color for men? Can you imagine an office full of men in bright red suits? Oh that's right, women are supposed to be decorative! Good morning! Probably good that I'm feeling feisty already this morning, I have a LOT to do today. A rare day waking up with no sinus headache, sneezing, or miscellaneous aches and pains. I can also stay home today, I don't have to go anywhere until tomorrow's 5:30 walk, that always give me energy. TO DO: Finish breakfast Clean up from breakfast Scoop litter pans Take sheets off bed Diane

ohblondie yes I had a purple suit I just loved Diane it would be funny to see our elected officials all in red might look more like the circus it is In this case I thought it benefited women though, who stood out in a sea of grey I remember after grad school going to a big national hiring event in NYC. I wore a dark greenish bluish suit - very subtle and very professional. I loved it. I was the ONLY person if hundreds not wearing black, dark grey or navy -the only!! Work should be quiet. Lots to do. But no meetings except one webinar and boss on vacation so no stream of emails or urgent meetings or new deadlines. Phew

who stood out in a sea of grey
They stood out because they were wearing red, not because people were noticing their abilities. I'm not saying they shouldn't have worn read, I'm just bemoaning the inequities that are so deeply ingrained that they will never be erased.
On some days I think I need a rant blog!
Okay, I couldn't decide between a 3 minute timer or a 5 minute, so I chose 4 minutes.
Next:
Pick up scattered small paper from note pad holder that old cat knocked off the desk overnight Wash cat food dishes
4 minutes each:

Hello Everyone!
Popping in to see how all you wonderful people are doing! I'm reporting in from Tote Towers, where if it's not in PLASTIC, it ain't FANTASTIC!!
Yes, everything here is still bagged or in totes. On Tues, it will be 2 weeks since the second treatment. Supposedly that's when we can start unpacking. It's supposed to be "safe" by then. I think I might wait a little longer, just to be extra careful.
Wishing everyone a great Friday and a wonderful weekend.
(I have THREE maintenance men in my apartment right now...2 working on the heater and one trying to get the drains working so I can use the washer/dryer - try not to be jealous )

magda....I remember interviewing at banks after graduating from college. It was black only. You could maybe get away with dark navy blue that was almost black. And it had to be a suit and a white blouse. No nail polish or fancy jewelry. I knew right away that was not for me.... I am getting so much filing done!

Good morning SetMeFree! Okay, I think having all the maintenance people in my apartment would freak me out more than the bedbugs. Well, okay, maybe not. But, you have had enough stress these last weeks to last a lifetime. I hope you have calm sailing once this horrible period is over with.
Ohblondie, corporate life in general could never be for me, I haven't worn a dress/skirt since I was forced to for my high school graduation! And I haven't worn makeup since I was about 12 years old and tried some on, and thought--why the heck would anyone want to wear this cr*p on their face? Yeah, I know, I'm a bit out of the mainstream.
It's already getting a little muggy in here so I think I'll close the windows. One more day of mid-80s tomorrow, then the forecast is for a week in the mid-70s.
Next:
Close windows Start a load of laundry
4 minutes each:
LR surfaces Fridge Plants/plant room

Having worked in the regular world, and now the service type jobs I do now there is a different feel. I feel more like a service person now which I never felt before. My clothes are business for quotes, and obviously cool and comfortable for work. I'm not walking pups in heels and they honestly don't care if I don't wear make up. They don't gossip about how she let herself go!! But I do make sure I'm pretty well dressed for first quote meetings. It makes a huge difference to how they see you.
Anyway, back to Friday. Just one bedtime pet sitting tonight. And 2 tomorrow.
So my home needs so much attention as I can give it today. Everything seems to be out. We had a busy work week so the place suffered.

Diane! mauve as in greyed-down red (tones). I assumed rich colors, as in "blacked-down" (shades), would feel too dynamic for you, my apologies. but definitely not anything bright!
I have the same rant about "basic black," which IMHO only looks good on 1/4 of the population (but typically does look good on models, who tend to be Type 4s). I've been writing about clothing this morning for my blog, so its on my mind.
ANYWAY! Good morning! busy day today, but an artist friend is coming over, which will help us stay focused (and polite!)

Happy Friday Everyone!! For some of you that means the end of a hard week and weekend. This is the end of my weekend. Back to work tomorrow. Usually 3 days off, but only 2 this week and yesterday was a very chill day. Getting moving now and hope to make a dent in things. I do have dinner under way at least. I put chicken breast in 2 crockpots. Just with some broth and seasoning in one for some shredded chicken for whatever. Tonight we will have with a little bbq on buns. And a 2nd crockpot has taco seasoned meat with enchilada sauce for later in the week. Up 1st
Unload dishwasher & load Make K's bed (already stripped earlier) Rotate laundry
