Everyone here has been productive. I am not feeling 100% me. As I was leaving, I was feeling like my throat is getting sore and maybe I am getting the cold many people at work have. But I am not sure. I stopped and got coffee for me and my oldest and when that blazing hot coffee hit my throat I remembered I burnt my throat on dinner last night. A hot bit got down too quickly and I forgot about that until I drank my coffee. Alas I started my period this afternoon so that's probably why I feel off. And explains my headaches and restless sleep the last couple days. Picked up daughter and drove her to work Unloaded dishwasher, loaded & run Chopped up onion Made brownies Packed up all food stuff (minus the items in the fridge I have to grab when I am ready to leave) FOUND the Birthday gift!! (remembered I have an empty drawer in my room I sometimes stash things in) Wrapped both birthday girl and boy's presents (well ... put nicely in gift sacks and got cards ready) Watched 2 episodes of Shameless I am waiting for my son's bus now. Wednesdays are early release days. Husband should be home in about 1 hour. Then I'll leave and take everything to my mom's and then to work for a little bit. The "office busy body" who was out the last 2 days let me know our boss still isn't there. I am surprised as it's after 1:30 pm, but then I recalled she mentioned a "morning" appointment today. Probably another cat appointment. Her youngest cat has been having issues lately they are trying to diagnose.

thinking of you as you face the day without old cat Thank you magda, it sure feels different. The odd thing is that it feels quiet--which is weird, because he only made noise when he was meowing for attention. But it feels like there's no one making noise outside or in the building--even the birds are quiet today. It is weird when it is like that and you don't hear all the usual noises. I bet your other cats are a little disjointed from the loss too. I think you have a few, right?

Angie, I hope you're not getting a cold, you have too much to do, all the time!
I only have one other cat, unfortunately, he's 18 with health issues as well, and I see some of the behaviors in him that I saw in my older cat a few years ago when he started to really show his age. So I hope he lives a long time yet, so I don't have to go through a day like yesterday again any time soon. The remaining cat didn't have a whole lot of contact with my old cat during the last few years, the old one spent most of his time on top of my desk, and the other cat never went up there. So I don't think he misses him too much, although I'm sure he knows he's gone--or at least, he knows something was going on from my reaction.
I have two parakeets too, and they are by far the noisiest beings in this apartment!

I got a call from my shopping friend, telling me the soup sale I've been waiting for ($1 Progresso soup) is this week, and offering me a ride to just the one store on Friday. This is unusual since we just shopped a short time ago, and we usually only go once every 4-6 weeks. But I will take the ride, because it's a lot easier than walking.

I made a trip out to the alley with garbage and recycling, also to the front with little library books. No mail yet, so I'll have to go down again tonight or wait til tomorrow.
Now I'm going to stop for dinner.

I have trash to go out too. Its raining now, the weather has broken. It seems to be dark so early. Washed the last of the dishes and steamed the handle on the big cook pot. It looks nice again. I managed to enjoy the last warm day. Fall is here now and leaves were blown around.
I have 2 sacks of B clothes to put away. As his draw was almost empty I told him to throw on the floor (his favorite place) all socks he is not wearing. He smiled!!

I will. It seems to work for him, I just gather everything and dump it in the trash! Fun.
I just made a peanut butter n chocolate milkshake. I had an ice cream craving n this is almost the same. Ice, half n half, Starbucks cocoa mix sugar n 2 tbsp peanut butter. Vitamix does a great job.

Yum, a milkshake sounds wonderful!
I was trying to get things out of the living room, but the set of 3 bins that served as stairs for my cat to get up to the desk--two smaller bins are gone but the large bin is holding little library books. The bins had to hold something to be heavy enough to be steady, now I have nowhere else to put those books as they are going out, so it'll have to stay there for now.
I'm surprised at how much I got done today considering I had to go out in the middle of the day, and that my feet really hurt. It feels like I have so much more free time now, I guess I should be able to ramp up the decluttering.

Hello everyone
I am slowly moving forward. I woke up shaking, with panic, and it's completely normal given the circumstances. The HUGE project of having this apartment to deal with on my own, all the stuff that needs to be washed and all the stuff that's in totes...not to mention the STUFF of living here for 12 years, that I will need to deal with to move as I cannot afford this place on my own.
I think the enormity has hit me and just the fact that I am dealing with the hurt, anger, and shock of a partner of 21 years, husb of 14 years walking out with absolutely no prior warning, discussion, etc. is almost more that I can handle.
DONE got out of bed gathered pile of papers from floor brushed hair brushed teeth called a friend for support posted here
NEXT UP feed/water cat litter box trash out water plants reply to pm sort/file paper pile #1

Good morning everyone!
SetMeFree, your husband is not only a coward, his timing makes sure he avoids doing any work cleaning up from the bed bug episode, so he's lay-zee too. Ugh. I know I'm not the only one who wishes I lived near you so I could come and help. We can't do that, but we will help in any way that it's possible to help in a virtual way. Feel free to vent as much as you need to, I certainly would want to if I was you. And tell us how the meeting with the lawyer went, if you want to share that.
I'm still eating breakfast and I only have an hour and a half before I have to go out for my walks, luckily I don't have to go anywhere after.
TO DO:
Finish eating Clean up from breakfast Scoop litter pans Put two bills on my calendar
