Such a beautiful dreary day today. Much cooler and more tolerable. I wore a rain coat to work and I actually pulled my sweater wrap over my shoulders this am. I always keep a plain wrap at work in the rare instance I get cold.
I feel like I am getting a cold - the sinus pressure and nasal drip.......I want to get the cold and get it over with as I am going away next weekend and I don't want to be sick. I was sick last year for our annual trip and I don't want to be sick again. whine whine........
I have to clean out the car tonight. Taking a friend to church sunday and I must start attacking the car now.

Hi oust and ohblondie!
The weather here is weird--it was predicted to be 60s all week but today is upper 60s and the sun is hot! In the shade it's chilly. It rained so much last night, right before I went to bed I looked out the window and our street was flooded and it extended over the curb into the middle of the lawn. I don't know why they can't figure out our sewers, we always flood.
I'm home from my walks and am eating lunch.
TO DO:
Finish lunch Feed cat Make shopping list for tomorrow Look at cat carriers

Not only did I pull out the two cloth cat carriers I have from my entryway closet when I had to take my cat to the vet, but yesterday I looked at the dresser sitting right inside the doorway to the plant room. Two carriers have been sitting there forever. Plus the one I found under the table in the plant room that is still sitting outside my entryway closet waiting for a place to live--that means I now have five cat carriers, and only one cat. This does not count a few more spare ones down in my storage area. Okay, so I used to have lots of cats, and I kept spares which I have given to people who needed them. But I definitely do not need five in my apartment. If I get a ride to the vet, I use a hard sided carrier, but since I usually end up walking there, the soft sided carrier can be carried with a strap on the opposite shoulder, which is the only way I could carry a carrier a whole mile. So I need one soft-sided one. I also need one hard sided one, plus one spare to have at the back of the apartment if I needed to grab it in a hurry for an emergency. When I take the parakeets to the vet they go into a tiny parakeet carrier, but then I put them inside a cat carrier for extra safety, and so they feel more protected. So I think I need to keep 3 up here and get rid of 2. And--underneath the two cat carriers on the dresser was...a box of books. Not ones I wanted to keep. So, yet more books to check out to sell. Next: 10 minutes on books Finish washing the last pan of dishes which sat overnight Empty and clean dishpan Start load of laundry Diane

That was not the last pan of dishes, I found more. They are soaking. I finished looking at the entire box of books I found, several were listed as ones I could sell, especially to a place that I had never heard of before--supposedly it's a nonprofit that tries to resell as many books as possible. They only offer 50 or 60 cents per books, but they pay postage, so I have to decide if it's worth it to do all that work for about $10-$12 per box. I'm leaning towards yes, since even small amounts of money are valuable to me right now, and these are FedEx boxes which means I can drop them off at the store that's closer to me rather than the UPS place that's much farther away. Of course, that means the messy books sit here in my LR until they go, and the messy boxes I'm saving in the DR stay because there are various sizes and I don't know which I will need. Oh well. The good thing is that the weather is getting cooler so walks will be easier. I also have to say, the last two days I have had so much extra time. I think taking care of my old cat for the last year or two was not just taking a lot of my time, it took a lot of my emotional energy. I was constantly feeling like I had to rest, and I was always thinking that I was not quite old enough to be so exhausted all the time. Some of that feeling is gone so I think I was more affected by cat care than I realized. I also think I was aware for a while, consciously and partly subconsciously, that the time was near and that was stressing me out. I feel like I'm able to focus more easily. Anyway, onward. Next: Wash the (real) last pan of dishes Empty and clean dishpan Go through a few books from my "check first" bin 5 minutes on the LR chair Diane

I'm so glad you are able to see things this way Diane. It is always best to be positive for our own peace and state of mind.
I watched a prepper video and decided 12 lbs of black beans is perfect for the jasmine rice I still have. If I can get food costs down, we can get ahead.
Came home and washed the dishes.

12 lbs of black beans I love black beans!
Make sure you keep them in absolutely air tight containers (the rice too, I'm saying belatedly) because you don't want to get grain moths! They can chew through plastic and cellophane. Next: Move laundry to dryer Make some book notes Move little library books to dresser inside plant room Move books to sell to bin next to desk until I decide for sure what I'm doing Diane

I am home and freezing but I won't turn on the heat. I stopped at DH job to loan him a sweatshirt I had in the car. He was cold too.
Picked up Cali at 🐕 doggie day care. There was a family bringing their dog in. They were all walking with their arms around each other. The dog had a hard time getting out of the car. There was such love beaming from the dogs face, such a happy but old dog. I burst into years in my car cause I knew why they were there. I am crying again.
So I am going to eat dinner and do something to make my house worthy of my girl Cali.

Okay, books are moved. I feel once again that I'm just shifting things around but the little library books only go out at a slow pace, the "sell" books will go more quickly--that is, if I decide to sell them.

I am sorry to make you cry DianeOhblondie, yesterday I cried over a butterfly. I went outside to put books in the little library, and there was a butterfly on the side of the door to the building, very near to where the door edge is. So I touched it gently with my finger so it would move and not get squished in the door. It didn't move, so for a second I thought it was dead and just still stuck to the wall, which seems to happen with insects. So I touched a little harder and it took a few slow steps forward. Oh great, a dying butterfly. So I put a piece of paper in front of it and touched it again, it walked very, very slowly onto the paper. I moved it onto a planter, figuring it could climb up on the plant, or get moisture from the wet dirt if it needed it. And then I thought, why does everything beautiful and innocent have to die. Then I started crying. So, this week in particular, I am crying at the drop of a hat, although I cry pretty much any time I talk about euthanasia, including with strangers on the street while dog walking. My sister called, so that took a long time, and then I ate dinner. Then my decluttering client called but it was not a long call this time. Now it's time to get ready for bed. Next: Clean up from dinner Put phone away Scoop litter pans Give everyone fresh water Diane

My pretty handkerchiefs arrived today. I knotted 2 together and put them around my neck French style.
Wanted to spend time hanging clothes and putting away. It makes the place tidy fast. All laundry in a sack waiting for tomorrow.
Today I ordered my new glasses. $140 I got a discount on the frame but had to pay oop for bi focal lenses.
Funny, I've been spending much more as of late. Here and there you know. No junk food though. But beginning of the month all my bills start arriving. Ugg.
