Well I am technically "rehired" but I still need to get my health care reinstated and access to the time and attendance system reinstated. Such a pain in the butt! Off to make calls......

Good afternoon!
The handyman left about an hour ago, unfortunately, the walk-in tub is not fixed and probably will not be. He explained that these tubs have all the faucet plumbing installed ahead of time and then they slide the tub into place and seal it there--all they have to do with the pipes at that point is attach the supply lines. There is a little side panel so you can reach in, but there's no way to fit a wrench in there to do any work. He would have to cut through the wall behind where the tub is. I hate that tub, the only time I use it is in very cold weather because the upstairs bathroom is so cold. He suggested having him tear the tub out and install a shower instead. Or, leaving it as is but with the supply lines turned off so that it doesn't drip. So now I have to decide whether I want to spend the money to put a second shower in to a house that only has one person living in it. I definitely don't want to spend money on the tub that I hate.
We did go to the big box hardware store, where I bought a bunch of things on my list. He also trimmed the mulberry trees that were starting to hang over the fence into my neighbor's yard, and when I saw how easy it was with his pruning blade, I had him cut out all the lambs' quarters plants that I had let grow in the yard last year. Otherwise I would be trying to pull/dig them up, and they had pretty thick stems so that would have been hard to do. We didn't clean the downspouts but he gave me a drill bit to use to take the bottom section off whenever I wanted to. He did a few other small things like tightening another faucet and checking an outside windowsill that is starting to fall apart.
I told him that if I did want the shower it would have to wait until the dog is no longer here, because loud construction noises make her so nervous. So I have time to think about it. After he left I fed the dog and had lunch.
Of course, now I'm really tired. I'm glad to have this visit over, and to no longer have a dripping faucet to deal with.

I think everything is resolved. If ever there was a sign from the universe that I should have retired, well that was it. I hope it doesn't mess up the longevity bonus I am due on April.
On the way home I dropped off a side table for my mom. This is one thing out of the house and my car. I dropped off a pair of leggings to surprise someone. They are too big for me and I never wore them. I am also getting a prescription picked up and two refills ordered While in the drive thru I managed to hit my horn and drop the little basket I am home safe and sound where I can cause no more harm!!

Okay, I think I have decompressed sufficiently from this morning.
The next thing I have to do is figure out a shopping day, maybe Friday if it doesn't rain. Or else early next week.
I got the house back to baseline to prepare for the handyman, so that's one good thing, now maybe I can actually work on my challenge goals, although they will all have to be transferred to the new month!
It's almost time for dinner.

bree catcats add me to the reboot list too! I am so cold that all I want to do is be in bed with lots of blankets. I have on my therm underwear so that is helping now. Kitties are still enjoying there heated bed. I do have the heat on but i just feel cold. My mother used to feel cold and bundle me up like crazy when I wasnt cold. The kitties however (if they are not cold) are not complaining about the heated bed. I am taking a break and then back to work on house.

Good morning everyone!
I slept pretty well, today's high is supposed to be near 50, so I should see if there's anything that needs to be done outside. During these last few days I've gotten behind on plant care again, so I will work on that.
Today is a new day, onward!

danny15 ohblondie catcats mylittlescholar thanks for your support!! Yesterday I accomplished some unpleasant projects at work! two still have some steps left but chipping away. one of them will finish today due to deadline, the other has some time to go. one massive project that I am working on is being delayed by some staff who do not want it to happen. so they throw up stuff that causes me to do research and emails and eats up time. this project will last one year.... yesterday I was so busy that i did not get my lunch and so I left a little early at the end of the day hoping puppy was ok and she was! no messes in house!! I was able to take her for a walk mostly in light before sunset so that was so much better as the parts of our walk in dark fields without a lot of light are a bit stressful as I am looking for deer and other wildlife that could cause her to go into wild leaping. after the walk I was so cold like you TML that I went to bed early just to warm up. I woke up around 11 pm, so I got up and did the dishes, swept floor, cleaned bathroom sink, some spot cleaning downstairs, and did my full night routine of wash face, face cream, brush teeth, floss, mouthwash. I am trying to adhere to that as I am one who likes to skip flossing! I love to brush my teeth though. I then fell asleep a bit but was up from 2-4 or so, so glad I am working home today, too tired for a rush commute. today I have to: buy groceries - cupboards are getting bare! finish project S work on project W buy a bottle of wine for a dinner tonight - looking forward to it! hosted by an excellent vegan cook who also has no pets so some animal free time! walk puppy So far I have fed the tribe, worked for a couple hours, and started laundry - just moved load one into dryer and started load two. I have a colleague at work who won't let their staff work at home on Fridays as they say they will just do laundry. I don't know what is wrong with throwing a load in? I am not at a riverbank washing it against the rocks!
