Good morning!
Bree, I'm sure you'll be glad to see your DD, too bad she has to go back the same day, though, that's a lot of driving.
I have fed the dog and taken her out, then I tried to get into the vet pharmacy website again to order a med refill, still no luck getting onto the site so I called the number. This time they almost immediately offered me the option of a callback, which I got within 10 minutes, so the medication is ordered. However, the problem still remains that they will send me an email confirmation with a tracking number, but I won't get the email, so I have to either call back in a week to make sure they sent it, or else just wait and hope it comes--I have two weeks supply left and they're supposed to get it to me within 3-5 business days so it shouldn't be a problem. I still have a month left of her more expensive medication so I'm waiting to order that later.

Good morning Diane! I was inspired by you to make my little list to help me keep on track and it worked! so I folded and put away a load of laundry took a shower dressed and make up found a lenten donation packed puppy daycare lunch shoveled walk cleaned off car took happy girl to daycare dropped off lenten donation
now I just had breakfast I need to leave in about 40 minutes and I am going to take down my Christmas tree (blush). Yep, it is up! I took the decorations off but it is a pretty slender artificial tree in the corner and I have enjoyed the lights. But it beyond time!
my lenten donation was actually two items, a sweater and a top. So I am a little ahead! It was another release of guilt. About 8 years ago (time goes so fast as I get older, it seems like maybe three years ago) we went on a mini vacation to bigger city with another family. part of the vacation was to go to some big name stores we don't have here. So I was feeling some pressure to buy; I do not like to shop. I bought this sweater and top. I liked the colors but I was not really sure but thought it could be a work outfit. I have NEVER worn them. I have even put them on a few times, but they did not fit well on me, and I was not sure of the style. But there they were in mycloset and I always felt guilt about the money spent. Returning was kind of hard as it was another city and so the years (!!!!) passed. Now these NWT items are in the donation bin and I once again hope some woman finds them and has the joy of NWT big name clothes for free! I am glad they are gone!
ok off to Christmas land.

Bree, isn't lent something like 6 weeks? Do you have that many clothing items that you can get rid of? I love this challenge, I will continue to watch what you're able to donate!

This is the first year Ash Wednesday and Valentine's Day has been on the same day since 1945 or 1947? My mind is a blur and I totally forgot it was valentines day until the end of the day and totally forgot it was Ash wednesday.
My parents house is officially gone. We closed last friday and I got the last bit out of the garage last night and turned over my key. It feels so good to be done with it. Now to deal with the stuff. I did end up renting a storage unit to shove it all in. I will take things out on a regular basis and just deal with them.
So apparently this retirement snafu now has me as a new employee. I was invited to New Employee Orientation training as well as ethics training. And I got an email from the union that explained the benefits of joining the union and asking me to join. Hmmm, I have been a member for 38 years!!
Tonight I will work on emptying my car. I was at a point last night where I was just shoving stuff in. tomorrow I will take mom to visit dad Get the bonus grandchild come back in time to make a craft at the ALF go to a movie or something for the bonus grandchild - then bring her home. Hopefully my sister will handle the visit for Sunday
I have monday off so I can sleep in a little bit. Coffee in bed with GMA or something
OK - off to get some work done

catcats I hope so! And if and when I retire, my "job" will be getting my house under control. WHen I am well rested and have a stretch of uninterrupted time - I get a lot done! So apparently we have had such a mild winter that the bugs have not been killed off. I think Callie has brought fleas into the house as I have several insect bites on my arm. The arm that is usually snuggled against her all night long. We started back on the flea medication last night. (I was cleaning in the kitchen and found it. And I added a recurring monthly reminder on my phone) UGH..... I think sheets and blanket in the dryer will kill them - I hope....

My parents house is officially gone.
Well, hallelujah! What a load off your mind.
But, fleas! We're having a mild winter too, but we did have the cold snap with highs around zero for a few days, I hope that was enough to kill any lingering fleas. I do have a flea comb and check the dog every once in a while but haven't done it since I gave her her last flea preventative for the year in December. I will add "flea check" to my to-do list...
While on the subject of insects I just read the weirdest news story. It says shortly after a flight from Amsterdam took off maggots started falling onto a passenger from the overhead storage bin. After investigation they found them in a passenger's bag, on some rotten fish (why the person was transporting rotten fish, or why they didn't smell the rotten fish, was not explained). But the weirdest thing was, they turned the plane around and headed back to Amsterdam! Because of some maggots!! Okay, I know maggots are really creepy, especially if they fall on you unexpectedly, but to turn the plane around? Unless the passenger got so upset they needed medical attention or something. Just weird.
Now it's time to feed the dog again and see if she wants to go out, then I will have lunch.

I got yet another call from my shopping friend! I'm so glad she's feeling good enough to chat like she used to, but between her calls and the extra calls from my decluttering client/friend, I'm spending too much time on the phone this week!

After that I will probably have to make dinner since I don't have any veggies prepared.

I forgot that this is a three day weekend for me. I am building in some relax time!!
This weekend Laundry - as a background chore (jeans, jeans, jeans, light cold, bedding) Finish tying off a blanket and get blanket in the mail
Go through leggings and find a home for the XL ones. Swap out table in "glam room" Get extra table in basement Dishes Clean out fridge Clean out car (after dishes are done as there are dishes in the car) CHange sheets (might have to wash the current set as I am not sure where the other set is
Clean clothes put away
OK - DS dropped off his work jeans and I have one load in the wash already. That leaves another load of his jeans, a load of my jeans, a load of bedding and a load of cold wash light color clothes. That is not bad
CLean clothes next

Wow ohblondie, a three day weekend! You're getting a good start!
What a big news day, I had cable news on most of the day.
I got an interesting email--I had sent a complaint letter to the soap company that didn't respond to my email questions. Well, writing a letter did the trick! I got an email response, apologizing for the lack of response (although the excuse they gave was not a good one) and telling me that the soap I like is currently discontinued but they're thinking of bringing it back. AND, they're sending me 2 bottles that they still have of the soap! Wow! I really, really hope they do bring it back, it's my favorite by far, and I've tried a lot of hand soaps.
I sent a complaint letter to the bank at the same time--we'll see if that one gets a response as well.
I worked for a little while longer on my plant table consolidation effort. Just like I was in denial about having too many books for many years, now I'm in denial about too many plants. Well, I guess I'm not in denial, I'm just not willing to do anything about it!
Good night everyone, see you tomorrow in the weekend thread!

Oh my! Maggots on a plane shudder. ohblondie if they have you as a new employee (crazy!) will your time count to your retirement? Could it mess anything up? Diane Lent is 40 days. I will purge clothes and if that runs out I’ll go to jewelry I guess… I am not a huge shopper so I don’t have tons of stuff but right now there is plenty to go through when I look at my categories with work clothes, casual clothes, different season clothes, fancy clothes, pajamas, seasonal coats and hats, scarves, socks, shoes, exercise clothes… I don’t know! I guess I’ll see how it goes- I am really happy for this challenge to dislodge done clutter and free up space. So far 4 down! 36 to go! So today I did take down my tree! Boxed it up and taped box and put it in the garage. Then I vacd the area and ended up vacuuming the living room. Brought in a lamp that was in garage to make room for tree cleaned it off Brought out puppy’s bed that was in basement to make room for tree Also swapped out Christmas wreath for a St Patrick’s Day one Drive to DD college to get her to bring her back for an appointment and right as we were leaving college town , she recd a text it was cancelled cuz the person she was going to meet w was sick!!! She had set this meeting up and did a lot of scheduling and finagling to get there- she was very disappointed! She’ll have to reschedule but it is not easy !! So there I was in college town bought her lunch and took her to target for a few things. Drove back home- a little relieved I did not have to make two trips TBH When I came home, I actually had to go on line and work on project P to finish it due to Some changes that came up. Then I just rested for a bit Played with cats. Picked up puppy from daycare. Now we are all just chilling!
