Dianne, yeah 18 crew yesterday and 13 today. I remember when I saw them working on the neighbor's house and when I saw them from the road I thought, holy cow they look like ants swarming all over her roof! They are starting to tidy up and get things hunkered down so they can leave for the day, clouds rolling in and it has been very windy and cold. Really great workers from what I can tell. One woman (I tried to talk with her but she indicated she only speaks Spanish) in addition to carrying debris was going around with this big magnet to find nails. She was also squishing behind the bushes to clear any debris.
I got pizza and coke for them both days. They had their lunches but I figured they would like a hot meal. Wish I could have made cookies or brownies for them. They even reroofed the mailbox for me so it matches the house. That was nice because at Christmas when I put nails in it to put up wreaths the cedar shingles were starting to feel like mulch.
The parts of the roof that are done look really good. It pretty well matches the pool house. I had that whole thing redone maybe 10 years ago (termite damage) but those shingles were not available anymore. I would never go with cedar shingles anymore, too expensive, not nearly the quality they were over 40 years ago and way too much maintenance.
They will be back on Monday (and maybe Tuesday) to finish roof, put on 5 chimney caps and new gutters with covers, forget what they are called. I am probably going to lay down pretty soon for a little bit. I have been mostly doing online things and back is sore.
goldenthreads that is cool about body doubling, I never heard that term.

danny15 There is something comforting about knowing you have a new roof that is in tip top shape. We had to have ours replaced after hail damage in October. wow danny15 you have five chimneys? How did Santa choose which one to use? I am not being as productive as I should be but maybe after such a busy week it is ok? I broke down and watched Scoop, the new netflix movie. I also played quite a bit with puppy out back; it is so sunny here, a little cold though. I am now working on my finances which I plan to do until I take puppy for our big walk at "my" park which has been decimated with ten acres of trees cut down this week. so sad about that. I am going to go around 4 which will be the warmest part of the day here. I am having some aging awareness. A facebook friend just posted a new profile pic. I prob have not seen her in person in 15 years. So that is a chunk of time when aging can appear, I'd guess she is about 60 so the last time I saw her she was 45 or so. She just looks so old to me! just a shock. She looks older than her age I think, which might be the shock part. I'd guess she was closer to 70. It just makes me realize life is a gift and a fast one and relish every minute. drink that smoothie!!

This is so true bree.
I'm eating lunch now and should have about 20 minutes before my phone call, I will go downstairs and move the laundry to the dryer so it can be finishing while I'm talking.
Today feels so much like a weekday to me, I'm not sure why.

I keep procrastinating the master bedroom. Going to focus on what I am achieving instead of the bedroom procrastination, ha ha

TwinkleToes yes, it is very comforting to have a new solid roof. Mine had a fair amount of damage from hail and wind; I did not know that but the guy who came out to check to do some repairs said it really needed to be replaced. He was right, he did all the heavy-duty work with the insurance company and the entire thing was covered, including the chimneys caps and gutters. You are AMAZING with your long lists BTW!!!
bree not 5 chimneys, only 3. There are 4 fireplaces. So one chimney goes to one fireplace, one chimney goes to 2 fireplaces and one chimney goes to 1 fireplace and to the 2 furnaces. I didn't even know until recently that furnaces went out thru the chimney. I know I'm not explaining that correctly. So there are 5 openings in the 3 chimneys and a separate chimney cap for each one. My ex used to handle all that stuff, I am sadly very uninformed about home ownership. Even though I have been on my own with it for almost 24 years now I am still learning, most often the hard way! When the kids were little and their mom was crazy, Santa couldn't decide which chimney, so he came down to all 4 fireplaces.
Bree, losing 10 acres of trees, that is so very sad! creativechaos lost a huge amount of trees where she lives also, some years ago. Yes, aging... I thought I looked pretty decent until I got new glasses about a year ago. When I saw clearly in the mirror how I really looked... yikes!!!!!! Where did all those wrinkles come from? I recently googled an old elementary/high school classmate during a bored night. Another *whoa momma* moment!!! I thought I was looking at her mother, long since deceased. I'm glad I'm not on any social media, no doubt people would be saying the same about me.
I could have slept for a few hours but made myself get up. The fridge is in good shape again with all food prepped. The fox will have some nice leftovers tonight. It has gotten so cold again.
Cleaned or straightened ~ laundry room lower front hall powder room
I cut the last of the daffodils and some fat blue hyacinths. House smells pretty again.

TwinkleToes having someone with you makes lots of sense cleaning. I have heard it called body doubling. There are some clean along youtube videos and a decluttering group that I belong to has a zoom meeting twice a week and sometimes on weekends. I can usually go to the weekend one.

HI goldenthreads - body doubling . I did not see your post before I posted. I am so slow today even though i started early. I did get some major bathroom cleaning done and worked on the bathroom sink. I need to get to folding clothes and clearing stuff out. I also bought some trash on whatnot. I may end up donating it. Just straight tipped to the donate bin. It was a cheap 3 dollar auction and I needed to go to that like a (and I can’t think of a bad enough example). I just did not need to be there and at the auction. The shipping cost more than the stuff I bought. It is not all cheap stuff in fact some of it can be one of a kind sort of pricey stuff but I was at the 3 dollar one and the bids were cheaper there over all than the $1 auction. I need to get back at being productive. I will consider my auction weakness today a 10 dollar donation to the donation bin.

TT, I can get a LOT of work done when I'm procrastinating on something else!
TML, I was never a fan of auctions (just tell me what you want for something, then I will tell you whether I will buy it or not--no bidding or haggling for me!) but I'm guessing an auction for you is like looking at a plant site for me. You work hard all week, like I just said before, a small, occasional purchase is entertainment. It's when they get frequent and/or high price items when it gets to be a problem. Financially and hoard-wise, not to mention a time-suck.
YouTube has always been my time-suck online--music videos, but then it changed to "pianists playing public pianos" videos, and now the latest one is "color-blind men using the glasses that let them see colors for the first time" videos. Well, at least it doesn't cost anything extra (other than my internet fee which I'm paying anyway) to watch them. But I'm going to have to start setting a timer when I go to YouTube.
So, I talked to my shopping friend this afternoon, and I don't know when we'll talk again--I told her that Monday afternoon I will be watching to see if we can see the eclipse from here. I assumed she would want to talk tomorrow but she said she wasn't sure, so I guess I'll have to wait and see.
After I got off the phone I really wanted to go outside again so spent another 45 minutes cutting up branches and clearing up the mulch that fell into what will be my dill plot, when my handyman threw a bag of mulch over the fence for me and there was an opening in it that we didn't know about.
Then to relax I took what was supposed to be a short reading break but the book I'm reading is SO good and I don't have a lot left to it so I kept reading and reading. It's a typical thriller which I try not to read too many of, but this one had a setting that I like and sure enough, it is very good.
I spent some time PEEPing and watering and checking on seedlings, many of which need repotting, then I had dinner.
I will do a little more PEEPing now and probably go down to bed early again, since I'm very sleepy.

I ended up going outside for another 15 minutes, I raked up all the little pieces of stems that were on the lawn near the chair where I work, so it looks a little neater.
Tomorrow we have rain again so I also cleaned the seed pool.
Good night everyone, see you tomorrow!

Hi Good People---
Today was hard for me and I over-reacted to everything. The holy cards were backwards from what I had ordered, and they will reorder them, but it was upsetting. We were there to get Tim's ashes, so I was already not in a good mood. My keys went missing and I did eventually find them, but I was more upset than I should have been. Flowers came and there were baby lilies in them and I had to take them out because of the cats. Mocha was really eyeing them up. And most of all, it was exactly a week since my Tim died and I kept reliving all the sad parts of the day. I think it may be better tomorrow.
I did get 2 loads of wash folded and hung up. Showered and washed my hair and unloaded the DW. Dailies were done. Trash taken outside. Talked to my BFF in CT and texted with my DD2. I will go to Mass tomorrow. Hope I sleep well.
My best wishes for all to have a nice Sunday.

Good morning!
Hugs to you catcats, I hope you got a good night's sleep.
The radar shows rain on the way shortly, looks like it will be a scattered showers day all day.
I will PEEP from the west side of the house again, I only managed to finish one room on each floor yesterday. Not sure if I'll get anything done in the yard, I guess it depends on the rain.
TO DO:
Call decluttering client 10 minutes PEEPING second floor Restock water in fridge Delete 10 hard emails

Oh catcats I am so sorry they messed up the holy cards. Making an excruciating day even worse. I pray today is a better one for you danny15 once when I went to visit a friend that I had not seen in years and she answered the door I thought for a second it was her mother! For the first moment, I truly thought it’s her mom and it was so confusing I took puppy for a very long walk yesterday and I am actually sore today. That is weird to me because I walk puppy for at least an hour everyday. Seems like I’d be in better shape On the way home we went to the pet store. I was so proud! puppy was so sweet and eager to meet every human and their dogs and all the staff. She just gave them pure love. She delighted everybody and spread joy. I left a place full of smiles. Such a sweet girl. Today I am skipping church. I just don’t feel up to it. I might watch online later. Today is more finances, basic cleaning, an earlier walk for puppy because I am going to a concert tonight
