Good morning!
Thanks for starting the thread, lennon.
Since the weather isn't cooperating with two dry weekdays in a row, the handyman is coming Monday late morning for a few hours to do the tilling. It should be dry until Tuesday and he will finish another job at 11 on Monday so will come over to at least get the tilling out of the way. I'm happy about that, at least I'll be able to plant in those three small spots even if he doesn't get back to do the other outside things for a while.
Tomorrow is going to be nearly 80 degrees. Ugh--too soon for 80.

Hello lennon and Diane and all to come it is cold and rainy here. not cozy rain, miserable rain. tough dog walk looming ahead I have had a tough week, work was so busy, I was way out of my comfort zone and had to lead six big meetings that were recorded and it was so stressful plus daily deadines. this is TMI but at one point I was working furiously on my computer and I realized I was going to be sick and had to rush to the ladies room, and then I just laid on the couch there as I could not move. A kind colleague happened to come in, I felt too lousy to care too much, and she brought me paper towels dipped in cool water so I could wipe my face.. so kind. I think it was a combo of lack of sleep, too much coffee, and plain old stress. last night i had some fun, went out to dinner and a play. today I am just going to be a hermit. I am full on introvert. I do not want to speak to another human! And I have to do three sets of taxes here on April 13! fix my last years, do my this years, and do DDs. Not great but in early March when I realized my trip and its preparations would take so much time, than mammouth project, I told myself -- it will be the weekend of the 13th so just go with it. so here I am!! i am still so distraught over this animal abuse case (Diane I will never share details) I have been doing petitions, sharing, calling but basically this POS will get away with it here, but it does not end here....I am 'glad" this sociopath was so dumb to post on the internet, now the internet is doing its thing. he might still be a sociopath going forward but his life will never be the same. I am going to force myself to start my new tax return. I think that will be the easiest way to go. I am so tired and cold and hunched over my computer! but today is a gift as my only chore to do is walk the dog later, so I can focus on my taxes. the busy work week, performing at these large meetings, and the social event last night, ate up all my extrovert self. total introvert catcats I am so glad your friend arrived to help you just as you needed. one of the Lord's angels! womble I read back, and I am so sorry about your dog but I think you made the right decision. I once put a small cat through absolute hell to try and save him and it ended in the worst way. I cannot forgive myself and I made a vow to never do that to another animal. ohblondie I am sorry you had such a tough day 2 of retirement but it sounds like you handled it well. I look forward to hearing more stories from you about life on the other side! I think I have three years, I am ok with it as I need the money i hope everyone has good weekend, and that we get done what we need to get done.

Good afternoon bree! What an awful week you had! Good luck working on taxes, but do some relaxing too.
After my last list I went out into the back yard for an hour. It was only 65 degrees, but the sun was so hot--when I came in I had to sit and drink ice water to cool off. I'm not sure what I'll do when it's 90 degrees... I got some weeding done, although it's slow going because I have to keep rearranging my sore knee on the knee pad. I also started cutting down a few of the old monarda stalks, there are so many of them. I did not turn the hose on, so I still don't know how the leak is today.
I'm going to eat lunch now.

Well my bad day got worse and culminated with my bed collapsing. I got wood glue and some bungee cords and tried to fix it the best I could. I couldn't find a hammer (of course) and there was no room to maneuver the mattress and box spring (of course). I got three of the four slats in place. Good enough for now.
I made an official retirement announcement and told my parents
Now, to figure out a schedule that supports my parents and respects my time
Ok.... I have my mom visiting my dad now. Then to figure out plans for tonight

Hi ohblondie and scholar!
After lunch my shopping friend called--the call lasted 2 hours because she wanted me to buy several things for her online. Now my hand is numb from holding the phone that long! I wanted to get out for another yard session but I need to decompress a little first.

Hello TML!
I did go back outside for half an hour, and then I checked all my seedlings.
Now it's time or dinner so I think I'm done for the day.

Slept late - not a good sleep. Fiddled with laundry had half a sandwich took mom to visit dad came home
It is a cold and windy day with spotty showers So we decided to go to a local drive in for dinner - there was no line - as we figured. We ate in the car - it was perfect. I was surprised at how long the line was getting when we left. I think people were counting on bad weather equaling no line.
Came home and tossed DH's jeans in the wash. I then discovered the DW never finished it's cycle. SO I started it again. I hope it doesnt decide to stop working again.
Tryng to decide what to do next

So I worked on my taxes and they are done. I am going to review them tomorrow then press send!!! there was one glitch and I could not understand what was going on with the online form. I was able to talk to a person and screen share and they figured out the problem and it was fixed. I was very happy about that.
Turns out I did not make a mistake last year so I don’t have to submit an amended tax form which is a huge relief!! tomorrow I do have to do DD taxes but she’s a college kid and her tax form is extremely simple, I only do it to get back money from the federal government
I did walk puppy for 1.5 hours. The sun came out. It was still cold and quite windy but it was sunny with blue skies which is a real perk around here. We went to my park, which is pretty decimated now, and a huge portion of it is no longer walkable …,so we went to the other areas. She was pretty happy. She was very happy. She’s always happy!
there was a huge puddle and she rushed up to it and I was thinking oh no please don’t and then she just did a big gleeful belly flop! so I had a very wet muddy puppy.
We stopped at the pet store just for enrichment for her. She likes walking through the aisles and seeing everything. I got her a two chew things then came back. I wiped her down with some dog cleaning wipes.
Cooked a very humble dinner- I’m in full-time save money mode, so I’m gonna try to just eat down the food here, so I will be having some weird meals.
I might try to watch something on Netflix or someplace and head to bed fairly soon
