So yesterday was pretty much a bust around here. I got caught up reading about plant care and pruning and watching videos and tracking down some specific fertilizers. Then playing with the new flowering plant babies on the deck. Then DD1 and I wanted to go back to the nursery and get some geraniums and marigolds. The scent of geraniums gives me a terrible headache so I never get them. But I read where the red ones are especially good repellants for wasps. They also dislike the scent of marigolds. Now we have some of those to set around the places we sit outside. I'll avoid the geraniums.
We came home, got the new plants settled and well-watered and I had just pulled stuff together for some paperwork. DD1 asked if we could go to the lake so she could walk around it. Let's see, paperwork or lakeside on a beautiful day? She managed to grab a bench for me where I could watch the geese and ducks and people in paddleboats and all the grown-ups and kids and dogs walking by. I brought a book but never opened it. Such a lovely, relaxing time! I saw her a few times on the other side of the water. She sat with me for awhile and then we had a totally unexpected dinner at a Mexican restaurant on the water. Really good with plenty of leftovers.
Today ~ work.

Good afternoon danny, sitting by a lake sounds like a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Alas, no lakes near here!
Enjoy your film, scholar!
I'm going to go out to the yard for a little while until lunchtime, I think it's warm enough now.

Diane, all of our local trees and bushes are blooming. And it is way too early! They should bloom in May not April!!
Yesterday so much of my day was spent visiting each parent (feeding my dad) then helping with a craft at the ALF. Came home and took a nap then went to get dinner
Yesterday I started packing up the bags of stuff for different people. I moved out to my car this morning and continued.
I dropped off a big warm jacket for my friends grandson. I picked up a bag of clothes for bonus grand daughter which means I can return some stuff I got at Sam's. I also grabbed a big bun of duplo/mega blocks for another friend's granddaughter.
I I washed my son's work jeans and my dad's clothes.
Once I am done with the Sunday visits I will gather more stuff up. And maybe work on the kitchen more....

Hi 👋
New here. And finding lots of strength to get some jobs done of my own. I've got an electrician coming tomorrow so set myself the target of tidying my bedroom and also the living room before he comes.
Feeling it's achievable so wish me luck 😀

Hello bexie, welcome! Yes, it's achievable! Keep posting and let us know how you're doing!
Ohblondie, I thought some things were coming up too early here too, the little patch of tulips on the side of the house were growing weeks ago, but still have not bloomed, probably because the temperature here is going up and down so much every few days.
I spent about 45 minutes in the yard, cutting branches, cleaning/refilling the birdbath and watering some of the things that are coming up, plus a few things I'm trying to transplant to other areas. Unfortunately, the grass is going to need mowing again soon! I might try to do it tomorrow when the handyman is here, that lets me do it in small bursts rather than trying to do it all at once so I'm not leaving the mower out unattended.
I'm almost finished with lunch and after that will work on repotting seedlings.

Diane, it was cool here this morning and it is still cold mid afternoon
It was not cold enough to kill the bugs outside.....Sweet Callie has brought fleas inside and I am covered with bites. We are going away this coming weekend and I might board my sweet girl so that I can bomb the house. Ugh
I just hung up and put away my dad's clean clothes. I hope DS picks up his clothes.

danny15 your lake day sounds great ohblondie you are working so diligently in your retirement. Are you feeling joy that it is a Sunday and you don’t have to go to work tomorrow? I am having a subdued weekend- yesterday I didn’t do all that much. Did the usuals- I did the dishes, I cleaned the litter, dealt w trash and recycles and took puppy for two long walks. I finished a library book and returned it to library but really didn’t get a whole lot done in terms of housekeeping. Today I have gone to church, ran an errand, managed to get puppy to take her medicine. It is not easy! for a while Soft cheese was perfect and I felt I had stumbled Upon the solution, but this morning she refused it! so I bought roast beef deli meat for the explicit purpose of giving her her pills -she took that and we shall see what happens tonight I cleaned out part of my refrigerator this morning, washed the bins, played fetch with puppy several times, did the dishes… now I need to get working on something. I have a long list in my head. I would like to work on the nightstand in my bedroom. It’s a mess; I would like to get my bedroom to pristine level.

Hello golden and bree!
Bree, have you tried Pill Pockets with puppy? Some dogs like them and others don't, but they have that weird "soft-moist" food consistency which is probably not the healthiest food, but some dogs love them!
I went back out to the yard for another 45 minutes, I spread some compost in one little bed, and then did some more branch cutting and some weeding. The good news is that my knee didn't hurt nearly as much as before, so finally the scab is hardening over so I don't feel it the way I did. The sun was pretty warm so that made me sleepy, so I took a reading break and finished a book and started another one. Now I'm ready for bed...
I need to make more veggies before I can eat dinner, and I need to do a quick cleaning of both bathrooms since the handyman will be here tomorrow. He mostly uses the downstairs bathroom but he'll have to come up here to fix the door frame eventually, and I just know if I don't clean the bathroom, that will be the day he uses the upstairs one!
I have repotted so many seedlings, there is no room--there's one day this week where the night time temp goes down to around 37, which is too chilly to put plants out. After that the next week's forecast is 50s at night, so I'm going to start bringing plants out on the back porch for the day, so they can start getting used to being outside. I'll do that for several days and after that if the 10 day forecast shows no 30s I might start planting them--they will start wilting or etiolating if they don't get enough light. I do have enough buckets/bins to cover about a dozen plants in case there's still a frost.
