Guihong, CPS worker scaring your children by saying they'll take them away right in front of them is awful. Sounds like you and hubby and the kids jumped right on the cleaning Hang in there, I know from personal experience that depression is very difficult. Can't imagine dealing with it with young and/or special needs children to take care of too Sending you prayers and positive thoughts, you sound like a strong family who will get through this.

Well, here's the way it went today (a very long day): I can't believe it, but I have...level ZERO squalor in every room except my room, and all the trash is already out of there. WooHoo!! . When I cleaned my bathroom, I pulled everything out from under the sink and threw out every lotion, powder, bath thing and body spray, except for the two scents I wear most often. That counted for two bags of trash. I wish I was joking. Maybe I will actually use my scents, instead of getting confused because there are too many choices. Thank you all so very much . Maybe I come and go, but this place gets me real. gui

I came to the same conclusion recently, threw all my makeup, and now I have only one of each (one foundation, one mascara, one lipstick, one eye pencil, ...) - works for me. Bravo for the HUGE, HUGE work you have done in your apartment!!!

I am SO PROUD of you! This is a major, major accomplishment!
I think reporting the worker to her superior for the threat in front of the kids would be entirely appropriate, and I would encourage you to do that. What she did was abuse your kids, verbally and especially emotionally.
You are really inspiring me to toss my excess (always a problem for me.)

Well, it took all day just to finish my room and closet, but there is now [glow=red,2,300]ZERO[/glow] degree squalor all over the apartment-and the last load of laundry is in the washer . You don't really want to know how many bags of trash went into the dumpster, and how many bags of stuff went to the Goodwill. I feel so...light . Now comes the hard part-maintenance. gui

Oh honey, I'm so sorry they were so ruthless with you and your family. I'm so sorry someone called CPS on you. This is the very reason so many of us do not allow ANYONE including family into our homes and we become more and more out touch with our social lives.
Good for you for getting in and cleaning up the mess. I must impress that although you are cleaning, your must have your refrigerator, oven, stove top, microwave and bathrooms spotless. Also make sure all medications are put away so that children cannot get to them.
I have a friend who has a daughter with severe mental and physical problems. For her safety, she sleeps on the floor. Her neighbor once came to visit at the same time that her older daughter had just gotten a puppy. This woman reported her to CPS because the puppy was pooping and peeing on the floor in the other room. They had to put the puppy outside and were presented with many visits from CPS until they felt the problem was taken care of. The puppy never got near the sick daughter but they didn't care.
What made me so mad was that they didn't offer to pay for the bed (which costs thousands) that would have been safer and better than her daughter sleeping on the floor surrounded by blankets.
Please do come her often and read the posts. It realy does help to keep you motivated and we will give you the support that you need.
I am saying a prayer for you and your family. God Bless You All.
