My advise is a bit different from the norm. But it helped me deal with DHR (our CPS) Acknowledge the problem. Tell them that you need help and ask what services they have available to assist in keeping families intact. Ask if they provide counseling for families in distress. Talk to your regular doctor about trying meds. ADHD and depression go hand in hand, hoarding is major symptom of OCD. When CPS comes back to your clean(er) house ask for a social worker whose primary goal is to keep families intact. Make a pot of coffee or tea and sit down with her and ask her to be make a check list of exactly what you need to provide for the children.
In other words, try to work with the system and get the system to support you and aid your family. Never approach CPS as an adversary, they relish that role. Remind them that their primary duty is to provide services to families.
It doesn't hurt to have a photo album available so that they will see tangible evidence of the love your family shares.

Well, here's the update:
The CPS lady came back on the Monday. I wasn't there, but DH was, and she was very impressed with the apartment . She took some pictures to contrast with the "before" ones, and left.
She called me a few days ago, again complemented me on the apartment, and urged me to stay on my medication and keep the place up. I told her I felt so much better when the place was clean, and that I would (or we would) keep it that way. So she said she would probably visit once more, and find the claim unsupported.
As for the apartment, it takes doing every day (multiple times a day), but it is still at [glow=red,2,300]ZERO[/glow] degree squalor . That's some kind of record for me!
Thanks so much for your support WOW !!!!! -
