I vacuumed the box (not a box spring but a box with no springs), the matress, around and under where the bed is usually on the floor, under the radiator, flipped the mattress, did 4 loads of wash, put most of the clothes away (the others are stil in the dryer so the bedroom is not affected), vacuumed everything, even dusted all he furniture with the vauum brush, wiped the baseboards (dog hairsticks to them) and washed part of the floor where 1 dog eats. I had to changed the vaccuum bag to get started, that is why I was weeks stuck in beginning. But now- ITS DONE! good because I'm exhausted.
I also cleaned the bathroom. and the floor of the hall. the hall was gross with dirt and dog hair. GROSS! but now its ok. not perfect but decent.
WOW ME!!! very unlike me to do deep cleaining.
PS hope and pray that my allergies get a bit better! they've been bad and havign asthma too.
PPS paid friends to wash the dog that had roleld in the mud so she didn't wreck everything with her smelly dirty self.

puppybox, I am so happy for you!!! What a great feeling to have a clean bedroom! I am sure you will sleep very soundly tonight, both from the hard work of cleaning and from the peace and order surrounding you. Congratulations!!!

Awesome job taking care of yourself--bedrooms are such a personal place, that I believe cleaning them says more about how you value yourself than any other room. PS: I love my dust mop for picking up dog hair. I spray it with a little water or whatever's handy, and it picks up everything. Might not work so well on carpet, but it's my favorite cleaning tool. My dogs like to chase it, too.

thanks peoples for the cheers!!!!!!
peach- mmm actually I would come do it as a vacation from my place if a)i ever got time off, I don't and b) you live somewhere fun.
royald -I've been purging for 2 years (slowly, its hard for me to let go). am finally at point where its not impossible to clean. u can get there too!
georgie-my kitchen is my block, its level 3. I did the bedroom partly to avoid the kitchen. why don't you do your kitchen? we can be opposites. and of course, as you said, the doggies must sleep in the bed. love the doggies. but bed gets very hairy fast. sometimes I vacuum the bed before I get in at night. its better thatn changing the sheets.
howardsGF- do u mean a feather or fake feather duster? tell me!

thanks peoples for the cheers!!!!!! howardsGF- do u mean a feather or fake feather duster? tell me! I agree: pets must sleep on the bed! Sometimes we have all 3 cats and 5 dogs with us. For getting pet hair off the floor, I use an ordinary dust mop, It has a long handle, and a removable cloth cover. Its head swivels easily, so I can reach under the furniture. For other hard surfaces, I use a swiffer duster, but here's the secret for picking up more dust, fur, and debris: spritz it with a little water, mild cleaner, etc. Dampening it makes debris cling to it so much better. Edited to add: either of these tools work great for getting cobwebs off the ceiling, too. I also recommend a deshedding comb, such as shedender or defurminator. I can remove huge piles of fur before it hits the ground. I just had a thought: if it's pet fur on the bed that bugs you, why not put several bottom sheets on your bed at the same time? You could peel off a layer whenever necessary.

thanks yearning4order! I'm sure you will!
HowardsGF -thanks for the info, sheet idea too clever! will try it! I've been meaning to buy a furminator. You're so lucky to have so many pets! there's a city rule here- 2 dogs max. not that i can afford more than 2 really. what kind do you have? I'm allergic to cats but i think if I lived in the country I'd get some barn cats anyway.

Way to go! I'm with you on the doggies sleeping in bed. We also get gunky rawhide bone remnants at the foot of the bed. One of my furbabies has to have his "night-night bone!" My allergies have been KILLER this year as well. You have my sympathies with that one! I hope you are enjoying your nice clean bedroom!
