This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM !

It's 34 minutes past midnight, so I went ahead and started a new thread! I've a lot to do before morning... todo: load dishwasher and start pick up toys from living room. recycle laundry I also, picked up dirty clothes in the bathroom, emptied the bathroom trash and put a new bin bag in, put away tooth brushes and misc stuff on the bathroom counter, cleared off the kitchen table as well as the credenza. It's looking much tidier in here now. Todo next: Wipe down bathroom surfaces Pick up paper beside couch and put away shoes in the hall make deviled eggs for tomorrow. I also recycled the laundry, put most of the stuff from the eggs away (there are dishes in the sink, but the counter is wiped, cling film put up, eggs in the fridge, ect.) I'm done for this early morning... now for some sleep!

Great job on the late-night cleaning! Hope you got some sleep, too.
Still Sat. night here, so the last of Sat.'s TADAs:
1. Moved art supplies so they are not so close to main walkway from front door. 2. Cleaned off most of the sofa (boxes for art project on far end, out of the way). 3. Put clean kitchen/bathroom rags in proper places.
TODOs: 1. brush teeth 2. evening meds 3. sleep

I'm up and about this morning and not feeling too bad for only 3 hours of sleep! I need to get back into a schedule and there's not time like the present! So Far I've: Recycled the laundry Took a shower and washed my hair and face Cleaned the bath tub Made tea To do: Drink tea! Take toys upstairs and clean off the stairs Recycle laundry

I've been up for two hours and feel happy with what has been accomplished so far. It is going to be a long day though, so it's important that I take it easy, otherwise I'll just quite and nothing else will get done... Tadas: Unload dishwasher and reload with egg dishes. Recycle laundry. Plan week. Todo: Take tennis shoes to laundry room. Wake dd up. Read together. Give dd a bath, wash hair, ect.

wow Merrymaid - you've done so much - sounds like you worked almost the entire night! I wish I could have half your energy. I am discouraged this morning... I really hope I can keep pushing myself... Congrats to everybody up so far. Merrymaid - thats a lot of tadas for early in the morning. I can barely type yet!
Ta Das 1. Up before 9 on a weekend. (This is not only a tada, it's a freaking miracle in my world). 2. Put 1 load of laundry in the washer 3. worked a little more on the coffee stain. it's not perfect, but it's wayyyy better. I'm calling it done and good for 5 year old cheap carpet i don't even own.
ToDos 1. Make a grocery list/meal plan for the week 2. go to the farmer's market for blueberries and any fresh veggies on shopping list 3. Go to whole foods and get toothpaste, and any oddities on shopping list. 4. Swing by the asian market if needed for any oddities on shopping list. 5. Come home, put it all away. 6. Go to game, and work on Scarf #1 7. Get regular groceries on the way home. 8. Work on the pile of clean laundry and ironing. 9. Login to work, check email, run test on code. 10. any other cleaning I feel up to, if any, after all that. 11. Take meds before bed, brush teeth, floss, wash face, use scar stuff 12. Exercise

Hi Entropy and Stressed, Good morning Entropy, I'm starting to drag too, but we can do it! Well done on getting up and keeping going. You can do it Stressed, Congratulations getting up!! Oh I love sleeping too. I have always been a long sleep, if not deep sleeper. Way to go everyone. I thought I would pop in to a quiet WIT's, and see it's very active this morning. Done from yesterday: 1. Dishes and four loads of BF's laundry. I wonder why I never do my own.... It's weird how we can help others but not ourselves... 2. Put up living room screens (old windows). It's great with the extra fresh air!!! 3. Bought lots of mulch and plants. Spent the day edging and dumping mulch. Mowed front lawn and 1/3 of back. To Do: 1. Give bathroom toilet, sink and floor a quick wipe. 2. Vacuum and windex tv room. 3. Make a phone call that I am procrastinating about.

Hi MellowYellow, You gave done lots as well! I feel like such a slug compared to all of you!!
Didn't really stick to my last set of ToDos, but I did do three things: TaDas: 1. ran errand 2. went to park and walked 3. came home and had very late breakfast or early lunch
To Dos: 1. dust and vacuum bedroom - just DO it!! 2. clean bathroom - JDI 3. clear off dining room table

Hi Entropy... Glad you joined us. Good job on your errand and going for a walk. I don't do that enough anymore, and it should be a priority.
Done: 1. Swished toilet, wiped tank and sink, mopped bathroom floor (postage stamp size) 2. Thoroughly vacuumed stairs leading to master bedroom and mopped tiny entranceway of house. 3. Swept outside entranceway.
1. Cleaned one litter box and put fresh litter. Relined cardboard that I have in front of box to prevent tracking (new experiment to see if the litter stays inside. 2. Went through fliers, cut out a couple ads and put rest into recycling bag. Had coffee. 3. Wiped sink and counter and cleaned/decluttered top of fridge.
To Do: 1. Vacuum/Windex tv room. 2. Vacuum living room. 3. Put away 10 items from cluttery kitchen table.

Hi MellowYellow, Good Morning Well done in getting so much done. You're right, it's much easier to do for others. I've often wondered how many house cleaners houses are actually like mine... messy and cluttered? A few times, I've contemplated getting a job cleaning houses... it sounds insane, but I know I would do a good job... or someone else!! Entropy, Well done with doing something, even if it wasn't what you planned, maybe it was just what you needed, getting out and walking. I always feel better after exercising... I just can't make myself do it most of the time!! Tadas: Get dressed. Go to Church. Recycle laundry Todo: Take nap. Strip bed and change sheets. Recycle laundry.

Turns out I didn't need to hit the asian market so that's off the list.
