This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM ! [/quote]

Good Morning Everyone! I'm feeling very content this morning. It was so nice to get up and not have to watch where I step! I only have about 30 minutes before I get ready to go to work, so I'm just doing a few things. Tadas: Got up. Made tea. Started Dh's coffee. Todos: Recycle laundry. Swish and swipe bathroom. Take shower, get dressed, and leave for work by 7am. Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning merry and madtiger! Merrymaid, those little boxes are neato! I'm not very computer savvy--how to you do that? I got distracted by a fit of sewing and painting this last week, and haven't been posting for a while. I didn't fall completely off the cleaning wagon, though. The desqauloring I've done thus far allowed me to have the table space to actually make stuff! Today needs to be a cleaning day, though, so I can keep up the fun without the squalor. Ta das: 1)Got up. 2) Made coffee, well kind of. I put in the grounds and started the machine and walked away. Came back a couple of minutes later to realize I'd not put in any water. Oy! Put in water and met with success this time. 3)rebooted the laundry. To do's 1) get son up and off to summer school. 2) Clean up thread mess around serger. 3)Fold a couple of loads of clean stuff. Off I go...

Good morning Laughing Lark and MadTiger and MerryMaid, That's a lot of work you got done tiger! wow!
I'm already at work, grumpily fighting issues and waiting for various things to finish so I can make real progress. I was hoping to stay at home today or tomorrow and work remotely, and it is looking less and less like i can do that and more like I will be working insane overtime all week/weekend. Which is upsetting me, rather greatly. But, that aside, here is today's Tadas and todos
TaDa 1. Up by 8 2. At Work by 9 3. Got through most of my morning routine (no makeup or jewlery today, but otherwise it was done).
ToDo (things I can do at work!) 1. Organize my backpack and Purse 2. Update the budget/finances on Wesabe and organize all of that 3. Work on cleaning out at least 4 folders in my work email account. 4. Clean out my foxpaws.net email account, talk to the admin about the issues on it. 5. Clean out my gmail.com email account, ditto. 6. Clean out my other google accounts like documents etc etc.
And the Todos If i ever get home 1. Cook the chicken cordon Blue and greenbeans for dinner 2. Cook the beef with red wine for further meals this week 3. Maintain the bathroom/evening routine 4. Buy orange pinesol, give the regular scented away.
That's honestly probably all I'll accomplish by midnight tonight given the way work is going. Here's to hoping I can get things such that I can work at home tommorow.

Good morning stressedbythemess. Good on you for getting done what you can, with so much work to do away from home. Hope things go better for you soon. Do you have a crockpot? Maybe if you use a really low setting you can cook dinner while at work. It might be worth looking into. Speaking of crockpot, I think I'll go fire up mine, so we can eat tonight. Ta da's round two: 1)Worked out for 30 minutes at Curves. I have had a membership for over a year, but skipped going for monthsandmonthsandmonths. I'm trying to go daily now. They are literally right behind my house, so I don't have far to go to get there. 2)folded two loads of laundry. 3)Picked up serger thread mess and tidied around both my machines. *bonus* 4)While I was on the floor picking up serger detritus, I decided to crawl around on the floor picking up random junk from around/under the furniture. Filled up my sewing wastebasket to the brim and then dumped it. While looking under furniture I found: *a jaw harp *a kazoo *a whammy bar for an electric guitar. If our house keeps belching up musical instruments at this rate, I can start a very weird band... ! To do's 1)unload/load dishwasher 2)Clear a countertop... any countertop. 3)Finish cutting out sewing project that is taking over the kitchen table, before someone spills milk on it. Back later!

After a not so productive day yesterday (I spent most of the day winding floss - needed to be done, but MAN it took forever) I'm determined to catch up today.
Ta da!
1) Cleaned off bookshelf in my room to make room for you know... books 2) Filled bookshelf with books from the girls' room 3) Made tea 4) Half-cleaned microwave using lemon trick... that stuff on the top is HARD!
To do:
1) Throw away all the bags of trash I've got sitting around from desqualoring these two rooms 2) Find a place for cross stitch stuff I sorted yesterday 3) Fill another garbage bag with stuff animals for good will

I am so envious of all you sewers/crosstitchers out there! You even have a serger, Laughinglark?!? You must have a lot of patience, dragonchilde. I *once* started a crosstitch project...when I was pregnant with my daughter...it's only half done and she is 6... I hope you don't have to work too late SBTM...and good for you for even thinking about cooking after working such long hours!!! Tadas... exercised started laundry ordered Schwan stuff....(which is why it is beyond mandatory that I exercise) Todo.. make bed vacuum bedroom put load of laundry away *clean toilet downstairs* see everyone in a bit......

'Good morning/afternoon, all! Thanks for starting the thread with 30 minutes to spare, MerryMaid. Hope your day at work went well. Glad to see you back here, MadTiger. The cubs are so lucky to have you! Stressedbythemess, wishing you success in getting stuff out of the way so you can do your work work, and get home in time to put your feet up before heading off to do battle again. Laughinglark, I'm impressed by your serger success -- the goodnews about your instrument discoveries is that you were not finding entire drum sets and tubas and double basses and baby grands down there! . Syzygy -- great job on sneaking up on the unsuspecting cat -- hope s/he appreciates your concern about his/her health. Dragonchilde, fantastic progress these last couple of days -- great to see you taking charge of those books. Hypatia, good job on the first TADAs of the morning! ETA: Wantinmore, we must have been posting at the same time. Good job on combining exercise with your other routines. I love Chinese food, too. When my watching-what-I-eat angel is watching over me, I remember to order things like soup, steamed dumplings, parchment chicken, and entrees which aren't breaded before they are stir-fried (i.e., no sweet and sour pork or tangerine chicken or lemon chicken, etc.). And never fried rice, always steamed rice. Those items are a lot lower in oil. Yikes! I'm hungry already! Yum. Between helping friend with broken ankle and on-going art project, I've been doing keeping-clutter-at-bay tasks, rather than conquering-clutter tasks. TADAs: 1. Made bed 2. Made breakfast 3. Started rice for friend's lunch 1. A bite of the art project 2. Cleaning soaking casserole dish and putting it in dishwasher 3. Finished mending I started last night TODOs: 1. Mail bills 2. Act on some mail re: Important Paperwork. 3. Set up better system for storing colored paper for art projects Hope you all have good days! WestsideStory

Hi Syzygy, Dragonchilde and Hypatia! Dragonchilde, getting your flosses all wound is a huge undertaking, and very productive. You'll be glad for ages that you did it. WTG! What's the lemon trick? My microwave is in a sorry state right now... Ta Da's round three: 1) Laundry... endless laundry. Washed and folded another load. 2) The sewing project is cut out, off the kitchen table and staged at my serger, ready to go. 3)Dishwasher unloaded/running new load. *bonus* 4) There are counters in my kitchen! Who knew? 5) Decided what's for dinner tonight, and it won't be in the crockpot after all. Tonight I'm going to grill something on the George Forman grill instead. My usual approach to dinner is to go, "uhm...what can I throw together?" a little while before actual mealtime. So this is progress for me. To do's 1) Shop. Buy cereal, trash bags, something to grill tonight, and baby wipes. Oh, and some wrapping paper for my son's rapidly approaching 8th birthday. Gifts are stashed here and there and need wrapping. 2)Laundry. 3)Re-thread serger with white thread. I have a bunch of projects that require this, and I've been putting them off because I hate to change the thread. It's best that I do this while there is plenty of daylight to help me see well. Back later.
