I saw that 3G passed, but I still wanted to express my thanks to her. Perhaps in her realm she is aware of how much her words are still helping others.

Oh gee. My eyes are filled with tears. Only now have I seen this post and learned that 3G has passed away from cancer. I loved reading from her, and this "news" brought all the emotions of what I went through loosing my dad from cancer this June. Her words from the beginning of the post strike me as so similar to what my mom keeps telling me. My dad was the love of her life to her and they've had a really loving marriage of 40 years. I've just written in another post ( iwannaknowbelle.blogspot.com/ ) "...I have lost my dear daddy. Since then, my mom has been in a wave of throwing things away, because she realized that all the stuff is just stuff, and it all becomes unimportant dust. In her words, what matters is what you LIVED, all the huggs you exchanged with someone, all the laughs, trips, your children are important, their health and merryment and well-being, your good relationship with your husband is important, the love in your family is important, all the rest is not important. Things are just things, what is left are all the nice memories you share with someone you loved." Then I read this from 3G, like a message from heaven to me: Since being diagnosed myself with stage 4 cancer, I have realised so many things. 1. Stuff, even family memorabilia, is NOT important AT ALL! It will not mean as much to anyone else after we are gone. It may all be sold, tossed, or discarded. 2. SO..... sell or discard it now and step one giant step out of Squalor. Stuff won't save your life, make you well, or even make you happy when you're sad. It clogs the arteries of your soul, dragging you down with it as it expands. I'd rather lose all I own and have my fiancee and my health back. 3g Definitely puts things in perspective for me.

Prayers to you my dear.. I agree so much, we (and others) get so wrapped up with the material things in life and forget what is truely important. So sorry you are going through this

Tomorrow would have been my sister 3g's 63rd birthday, and I am feeling very low. We had many plans for the future...She wanted to continue working until she turned 65 so she would get her full pension from work as well as her Social Security. Then she, my significant other and I were going to move to Cape Cod and live out the rest of our years together in our old home town. It's gonna be a loooong and dreary weekend for me.

Purple,
Hugs from me, too. Hang in there, dear one, and know that we are thinking of you all.
Your sister will live on in my heart forever.
My thoughts are with you this weekend.
Love, Ponygirl

3G made such an impression on me also in the short time I have been here, her words often go through my head.
Purple I hope you can take some comfort in the fact that she has helped others here with her wonderful words..she had such a spirit about her, something that is rare to find. xxx
