Purple, Wow. I'm new here, your message and 3G's of the unimportance of all this stuff cluttering our lives has truly hit home. Thank you for sharing, your life, your sister's, and the burden of not leaving the squalor behind for your family to have to painfully go through. “God sends the thread for a web begun,” The words of an ancient proverb run. So whatever it is you hope to win, Create, or accomplish, or be—begin!
The fruitful harvest for which you pray Is locked in the seed that you sow today; The joyous journey you long to make Begins with the first firm step you take. So lift your eyes to your special star And step out boldly from where you are, Beginning the task that you long to do— And God will help you to see it through. I take this message as a Gift straight to me, shared through you and 3G ~ Peace,

Oh, Purple, I'm so sad for your loss, I know it's a painful time. Hold onto friends and your family here. She will always be so much in people's hearts, you're not alone in missing her.
Many hugs to you --

I thought about 3g alot as the snow fell this past snow storm. With her having lived so close, we would often post about how bad the weather was. God, how I miss her!!!

This message is powerful. I have gotten down to what most people would call a "normal" amount of stuff, but I have been wanting to cull even more since I want to move in a few months. 3g's words will be on my mind as I work on this task.

I've been away from the boards for a few years, and I was sad to read about Threeg's passing.

I replied to 3g's post this morning not realising she had passed. What sad and shocking news. The message in her post was certainly a powerful one.

My sincere condolences to Purple and all who loved threeg. She was obviously a special person.
I'm sorting through my Dad's stuff. He died of cancer at the end of July, bless him. As I work my way through his hoarded items, it's been so helpful to bear threeg's wise words in mind.

He too was a hoarder, and sorting through his stuff is very painful. I'm always tempted to leave his things just the way he last touched them. However, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in 2008. I'm doing well but still 'weak' and Dad's house is where I can live. So, I know the choice I face is to keep stuff and drown in it, or release it and live free. True for me as for all: my life, this moment, is all I have. And as a dear friend expressed it when facing her own dad's stuff: "Keeping it won't bring them back."

I do hope your own recovery continues smoothly. Thank you for posting your comment, which is beautifully put and very true. I appreciate you sharing your wisdom and wish you every happiness in future.
