Hello all! Our member Glow-worm ( glowworm) had been coming up with fun challenges in the style of the ones that Illuminata ( illuminata) used to post on the prior forum. Glow-worm set a goal ... suggesting doing 30 fun-silly-inspiring challenges. Continuing to send love and support to Glow-worm .... and thanks for starting this series of fun challenges! She (Glow-worm) seems to be offline for now, but we can continue with the challenges. --------------------- Illuminata posted every day for thirty days in a row -- building up to a target date or event .... but I haven't been able to do that every day. ... so these "30 fun challenges" are being posted whenever I have the time. --------------------- List of all the "30 fun creative challenges"(from July-Sept 2008): takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/thread/1710
---------------------
And ... here's the new one (#25)This challenge is inspired by Illuminata's challenges from the old board.
Here's how this challenge works: Someone will give you a new word periodically, until we've done 30 threads.
Your challenge is to find something in or around your home that is related to that word, that needs to be picked up, organized, cleaned, thrown out, or otherwise desqualored.
Here are the rules:
Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us.
You are not required to complete every challenge to participate; feel free to pop in and out depending on your schedule.
If you decide not to participate, you are welcome to join in the thread to cheer others on.
Today, I'm trying something a little different.
We just had the Vernal (Spring) Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere of Planet Earth ... and we just had the Autumnal (Fall) Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere of Planet Earth ...so ... we have TWO different words today ...
Use the word SPRING if you live south of the Equator. Use the word FALL if you live north of the Equator.
OR ... pretend you live in the other hemisphere, and do the other word. Have fun with it.Do you have something in or around your home – relating to the word SPRING or the word FALL -- that needs to be cleaned, replaced, arranged, or thrown out?
Now's the time to do something about it!
Have fun and choose your own ideas for the word of the day. If you're stumped, here are some possibilities:
box spring, spring water, spring forward, offspring, hand-spring, Springer Spaniel, Bruce Springsteen, spring training, hot springs, spring-loaded, spring fever, Springfield, spring-form pan, springboard, and of course, spring cleaning. Organizing yard work and tools -- or clothes -- for the season of spring. Lots of household items contain SPRINGS. It counts if you do desqualoring of any item that happens to contain a SPRING -- even if you're not focusing on the SPRING.
fall asleep, footfall, fall back, fall away, fall behind, fall over, fall apart, fall short, fall flat, crestfallen, fall down, falling in and out of love, fall short, fallout, free-fall, waterfall, pratfall, rainfall, snowfall, nightfall, befall, Niagara Falls, fallacy. Organizing yard work and tools -- or clothes -- for the season of fall. Get rid of piles before they FALL over. Pick stuff off the floor so that you don't FALL over it. Find that missing item that has FALLEN behind something else. Make a payment on one bill that you'd been FALLING behind on. Ged rid of stuff that is FALLING apart.
Just pick one small thing to change ... that's all !
Remember to have fun!
Rules are made to be broken. Creative variations of the word of the day are encouraged!
Good luck with today's challenge -- and remember to report back here when you're finished!May there be SPRING in your step !
May things FALL into place !

I listened to people talking about "Fall cleaning." I laughed to myself, because I never got around to "Spring cleaning" yet. I did pick up a few things so nobody would "Fall" over them. Does that count? 3g

Oh 3g, I LIKE that. Hope you don't mind if I use it. Had to admit, I did giggle some, thinking about "falling" over things.

Oh yes ... That's why I chose "fall" instead of "autumn" .... because it can have so many alternate meanings. As I posted above: fall asleep, footfall, fall back, fall away, fall behind, fall over, fall apart, fall short, fall flat, crestfallen, fall down, falling in and out of love, fall short, fallout, free-fall, waterfall, pratfall, rainfall, snowfall, nightfall, befall, Niagara Falls, fallacy.

Creative variations of the word of the day are encouraged! I said that above .... but my post was apparently too CLUTTERED for anyone to notice I also suggested alternate uses of the word " spring" -- in addition to the spring season .... such as any household object that happens to contain a spring mechanism (including a boxspring) ... or wild ideas like listening to Bruce SPRINGsteen music and drinking SPRING WATER while cleaning up after one's SPRINGer Spaniel dog. We can be as silly as we like with this. The idea is to have FUN ! -

, Lioness! "I guess my post was to "Cluttered" for people to notice!" I speed read, and do skip words occasionally, so I guess that's what happened to me. Sorry. Here's a few Fall messages. I have Fallen behind so many times that it will take another lifetime just to catch up. I fall into shock just looking at my dining room....get the paddles! And Spring ones... Robin poop on the balcony is the first sign of Spring. I need to Spring into action before I fall on my butt! 3g
