I have just read this whole thread for the first time ! And a little over an hour ago, it was still my birthday. And I am the oldest one here ! So IT. SHOULD. BE. MINE...... !!!!! I must own it ! I must ! I have given compelling reasons ! MINE.MINE.MINE. ! catcat P.S. And I will cry if you all won't give it to me. LOUD. I told all of you TWO yrs. ago that it was MINE. Again, my B.Day is only a half hour past. I was hoping to get this as a surprise gift, although 2 yrs. late. I would have been gracious & all. But NO_OO_OOO. I am so unhappy now. My slippers are full of tears. Keyboard ruined. I may just have to quit this site. catcat Oh my goodness. You did indeed request it. My dear catcat, The biggest of birthday love hugs to you. I must confess that I got this post all ready to wrap for you, as a present. But then I couldn't decide if I should buy wrapping paper or if that wasn't an environmentally responsible idea. Then I thought of recycled wrapping paper, but I couldn't figure out where to get that. Then I thought of looking through my own pile of unsorted stuff to recycle, but never get around to dealing with. I found a piece of old used aluminum foil I could use to make shiny silver wrapping paper. I was going to try to clean it and iron it. But then I couldn't find the iron. And meanwhile the foil got ripped and torn. And it smelled sort of moldy. An acquaintance of mine saves the colored comic-strips section from the Sunday newspapers, to use as wrapping paper every year. I was going to call her to ask for some, but I lost her phone number which I had written on the back of an old envelope somewhere. I've read that some people buy new "tea towels" (dishtowels) and wrap presents in those ... so they are giving the gift plus the towel. But I didn't know what color/design of towel to buy for you. I got totally mired in the perfectionism of how to "properly" give you a gift, and then it was after midnight and I fell asleep in my chair whilst ruminating about all this. I finally realized I needed amnesty from preconceived ideas of proper presentation of a present. But I had misplaced this thread again. Once I found it again, I decided to just give it to you, unwrapped. But I hope you'll promise to leave it lying around for all of us to trip over it occasionally.

Lioness, im so glad you gave this to catcat, wrapped or unwrapped. I think its a wonderful gift and shiny and sparkly enough not to need wrapping. catcat i hope you had a wonderful day and i hope you are happy and dont leave us. If you do get tired or your birthday present or it doesnt fit, wrong color etc., i will gladly take it off your hands. It might be motivation for me to clean up my unwieldy mess of bookmarks because i belive this was on page 26 or maybe it was page 36. why i have so many i dont know. I barely ever get past the first page, but you never know, they might come in handy one day.

Cat at, I do have the Sunday comics from the paper, and will happily send them to you, in case you want to wrap up the thread to pass along to someone else. After you have enjoyed it for a suitable time, that is!

Joy in Virginia---I really don't want to hurt your feelings---very kind of you to offer me your Sunday newspapers. Really very kind. I am sure that if I ever need to send it back--& I won't--I will have enough newspapers, so will not need yours. And, you know, I hate for you to spend shipping money. Thanks anyway, Pal !

yaaaaaay catcat - you now own this thread! - and - happy slightly belated birthday! i'm sure now that you are the owner/steward of this post and thread, you won't lose it, and that this is your best birthday ever! you've been wanting this thread for so long. perhaps gold gilting it would keep it shiny and wrinkle-free. i'm throwing in a fireproof metal security box and you should be receiving that very soon, so you have a safe place to keep this. And dear generous CourageouslyLion SeeksSerenity SeeksSerenity - so good to "see" you here in the midst of your oh-so- generous act! your post of Aug 7, 2013 (page 3 - and the convo that followed about saving it for our children, who probably won't appreciate it and are maybe not worthy of it anyway) made me glad i voided my bladder before starting to read this thread! i hope i didn't get everyone's devices all sticky all over again when i spit my lemonade all over the place whilst choking and guffawing at the same time! i never tripped over this thread til today. too bad i was in bare feet - i'm pretty sure i have a few broken toes - but it's all worth it. i was hoping that we could publish this both in book form and for a kindle so that millions can benefit from reading it. they could buy it on amazon, and we can donate the proceeds to a good cause - therapy for our children, perhaps? but how much would we charge for something this precious? it's priceless! P.S. - lioness, not sure why the 2nd part of your name prints twice when i try to tag you, but i think it's a hidden message from the angels - since i cannot figure how to make the repeat of it go away. maybe i can cover the 2nd part of it with a corner of this thread.

Thank you creativechaos for liking my post in this thread. I'd forgotten all about it, so I'm glad it was unearthed again. ETA: I vote for moving this thread to the favorite threads section. It's just too good to lose again.

I vote the thread goes into random miscellaneous, usually found in the box under or on top of the stack of winter coats ... Oh maybe that's an idea, there can be random thread started, finding old gems down the back of the digital sofa.
