This is the W.I.T. (Working in Threes or 3's or whatever) thread.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, even if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous.
- Do one more little thing.
- Do another little thing. Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing.
- Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or
depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying
- Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen
- Put away phone book
- Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
.... YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's
- Took pop can to kitchen
- Put away phone book
- Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's:
- Bring plates and glasses to kitchen
- Put dirty socks in hamper
- Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das.
YOU DESERVE THEM!

Thank you all for the kind thoughts and prayers yesterday. The mammogram seemed ok.
TADA:
1) What I have to do to get moving: get out of bed , dogs out, dogs fed, take pill, make coffee, drink coffee, email, weather etc.
2) Strip the futon - we had been sleeping there for a year and it involved a lot of bedding.
3) Load of laundry 1 - washed, dried and hung up.
4) Load of laundry 2 - almost ready to be hung out ( bedding)
5) Pack to go to DD's for the day, including a bag of papers to be sorted during Cub's nap.
TODO:
1) Hang the wash
2) Finish getting ready
3) Gone for the day.
Be back tomorrow.

Morning all! Tiger - I'm glad the mammogram seemed OK, whew.
Ta das:
- up, ate something
- started some laundry
- opened the blinds to let in the light and try to wake up a bit (not quite 7 here)
To do:
- empty dishwasher
- reload dishwasher
- start some bread

Hello MadTiger and Hypatia...me,too, MadTiger, happy to hear the mammo seems okay...
I haven't posted here (WIT) in a long time...but this looked sooo familiar I couldn't resist!!! I'm still a little troubled about SS dissappearing.
Anyway.. I am almost done emptying the upstairs apartment that I will be renting to a friend as office space. Need to get stuff into my car that will go to Emmaus , and finish moving things OUT. I'll try to check back in later..love, bazarre

Good morning tiger, Bazarre, hypatia, lion, and rosebud! I have been away and missed you all. tiger, what kind of cub did your DD have? I missed those threads, and congrats! Rosebud, thanks for starting this thread today with flying colors! Great work Bazarre, clearing the apt. out and renting it for some cash! Tiger, nice job on the bedding and laundry!
So far I have;
1. made the bed
2. hung up a bunch of clothes that I tried on while looking for what fits anymore, and threw on the floor in haste before leaving town. Closet is in order again
3. put away clean dishes
to do:
1. find a bill that I can't find and write a check
2. get ready to go to yoga; it's been a month since I last went it seems
3. work in garden after that; way behind and the dahlias are still not even close to going into the ground because the beds aren't finished being made yet!
have a great day everyone. maybe I'll check in tonight to see if there is anyone posting here at night.

Good Morning! It looks like everyone is accomplishing A LOT today! Hope I can join you and accomplish a little too.
Let's See: So far I have:
1) Off and On throughout the night and morning, I have been tending to my 2 sick kids. Medicine, Checking temperatures, Making hot apple cider with honey, etc.
2) Made me a cup of coffee
3) Tossed a few papers
I would like to do:
1) Gather some trash here, there and everywhere
2) Start a load of laundry
3) And do a 15 minute timer in the living room
I hope you all have a wonderful day and that you accomplish all you hope too

Looks like your have your hands full hopefulnic! I wish your children a speedy recovery!!! I starting out with just the tadas today. I have a long master list in preparation for my trip to stay with mom, and I slept through my alarm. tadas -picked up dog accident and fed dogs -called mom, in pain but good -made coffee ****many more tadas to come  best artsy <------- will be a board hog today!!! |

Hey, being a board hog means you'll be getting a lot done today!  I fell back asleep with DS for a few more hours, so I'm starting again. Ta das: - fixed breakfast for the kids - switched over laundry again - started bread To do: - get dressed & get kids dressed - quick 5 minute pick up of DS' room - run to the corner store and grab some snacks I'm keeping my friends' girls for a few hours today so if I keep the house from degenerating into a complete disaster then I'll call the day a success! |

hopefulnic, a dealing with a wee bit of trash and making lunch is fantastic when you're also being Mom to a couple of sick kids.
missed you all when I was away. great to see this board and community starting to thrive, and more people finding their way back to WIT, even if it's just every so often.
TADAs:
1. Up, dressed, meds, breakfast.
2. Made it to church on time for friend's aunt's memorial mass
3. Stopped at farmer's market on the way home
TODOs:
LOTS!
1. Take stuff from trip and groceries out of car; put away
2. Make embarassing phone call about delayed paperwork and plead for understanding and more time
3. Try to find the info I need for this paperwork

Hi everyone.  Hopeful--hoping little ones are well soon. Tadas: 1)took kids to schools 2)went to grocery store 3)played with puppy some, let dogs in & out a couple times, researched Boot Camp that I'm thinking of joining. Really early in the morning...5:15am... Yikes! Maybe force myself to go to bed early. Todos: 1)put load in washer 2)put away 1 bag of groceries 3)get graduation card & check ready to mail CD  |

Glad your back Westsidestory! tadas -called relatives to update them on mom - made checks out for rent and house sitter -held mail -called and arranged time for house sitter to get key -finished load of laundry -entered important numbers into phone todos -weed whack yard and pick up dog poop -clear off front porch -collect garbage from bedroom and much much more |

Tadas: 1)put load of laundry in washer 2)looked all over for paper I needed...finally found it.  3)called DH re: check for nephew (I got everyone to sign the card this morning. More tada: 1)paid 2 bills & got nephew's graduation card & check ready to mail, got 4 thank you's ready to mail -- those were all ready written, just had to address & postage. 2)cleaned out 1 of the pouches of Office in a Bag 3)put big pile of paper recyclables into recycle bag Todos: 1)eat lunch - salad 2)figure out what to cook with chicken I bought 3)put stuff to go to cleaners by front door. Thanks cando, I can and I will, just not perfectly like I always want to but alas, that is unattainable because nobody is perfect, progress not perfection! Last year my mom got me a "That was easy button" from Staples I just found it today. Now whenever I finish something I press it and I hear "that was easy" I'm hoping the Pavlos dog effect will kick in for me . tadas - weed whacked yard - picked up dog poop outside - drank water todos -show sitter the ropes - don't be embarrassed by the house it no longer in level 3 and only 2 rooms out of 8 are level twos ( those doors are shut and locked with skeleton keys) another advantage of old houses tee hee - take 4 dogs to vet + beds and dog food (for two of them) That was easy, artsy |
